Hey, in somewhat related Spider-News: While Sony is off trying to chart some sort of new path with Spidey characters,

Michael Giacchino is working the classic theme into his score for Homecoming.

First great MCU theme/score incoming

What a strange thing.

Venom is awesome because he is born from the hatred of Spiderman and that dynamic.

As far as I know, will this movie even have any relation to spiderman? Thought I read that it wont somewhere.

Ace. Hopefully none of the tracks sound exactly like his Star Trek theme.

Most composers have tracks in their scores that are "like" tracks in their other scores. They'll do it sometimes for their fans to go "oh hey that sounds familiar!" but it's not like some grand instance where it makes the score lesser on its own. His scores may have one or two tracks that sound familiar but I can't say that any of the tracks sound "exactly" like his Star Trek theme. Similarities? Yes, but again I could pin that on most great composers. John Williams does it, James Horner did it, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer, etc.

It's not like Giacchino is the only one that ever references his own past work and there's still a ton of great original music in his scores.

I'm holding up Sony pulls thru with some MCU Spidey shit in the end

This is a joke right? 5'9 is avg height yes, but 180 AND dense musclar build is not pretty small by any means.

When I think "big", I picture 6'3 and 250lbs. With that being said, Hardy can definitely bulk up, so I'm sure he'll look the role.

True. Just hated parts of the Doctor Strange ost.

That's fine. But 180lbs on a 5'9 body is not "pretty small", that's just nonsensical. 6'3 250 is huge to most people, not big. Big is 6'3 ~200lbs. It's all relative to height within reason

Sony has been on a role with great casting choices. Now they need the right directors/writers. They definitely need to reach out outside their circle.

I know its too much to hope for cuz Hollywood but I would love it when he gets the suit, he spends the majority of the runtime in suit and not show his face.

Maybe they just have all of Queens get sucked through a wormhole or something in Infinity War part 2 thanks to gauntlet fuckery. Maybe Iron First gets sucked in too.

Wait... what if this Venom movie takes place in the Insomniac game Spiderman universe? That would be one hell of a powerplay

Venom is only good when he is playing off Spiderman or his history with spiderman

there's no way this goes down without references/a cameo right? i swear if they botch this again i'm just gonna call the 2 part spidey animated 90s thing the best there is, honking venom & all

This is gonna be military operative Flash Thompson, right?

Like, quick origin of the symbiote after we meet Flash in his early 30s, a washed up asshole still huffing fumes of High School glory and he's drafted into this program as his last attempt at feeling important again.

At which point the two attach and they drop his ass in some warzone somewhere?

Right?

That's what this is?

that's not harder to get into than brock though? and i say that thinking flash was a great venom

That was fine. Problem was he had his mask peeled off for over half his lines so whats the point.
