What game(s) are you currently addicted to?

My current addiction is to Cities Skylines (XB1 version). I was looking forward to the console version for so long and I've been hooked ever since the release.

I experimented with a few cities before diving into my current one above. I just reached 30k citizens last night and I'm on my way on making major expansions into a new tile north of the current city. Tweaking and reworking parts of the city to try and fix problems is a lot of fun and time just kind of slips away when I'm playing. I think I've reworked the original entrance to the city 5 or 6 times now. Last nights project was moving the industry park to where the train cargo hub is located which allows them better highway access (also away from the major part of the city) and expanding my suburb island.

What's your game you can't stop playing at the moment and why?

Diablo 3. I had bought it in a cheap sale for PS3 and played all the content so upgraded to the PS4 version and greater rifts have just sucked me in.

I've spent almost every waking moment not at work playing Prey since Friday afternoon. It's absolutely terrific and a top 3 game this year. Everyone should play it.

Before that I played BotW in a similar way. This has been an amazing year for games just with the first 5 months. No time to be addicted to anything though. Just finish one and move into the next.

Thankfully I've (mostly) gotten Persona 5 out of my system after two full playthroughs and 250hrs, so not that any more.
I also cleared Steins;Gate 0 after spending a few late nights with it, only getting a few hours of sleep every night. Plus, I'm still dreaming about it and watching a lot of videos related to both it and the original Steins;Gate...so maybe this?
If not...then nothing at the moment. Thank god since it means I can get a decent night's sleep for the first time in like 2 months.

For me, it's still Breath of the Wild. I'm like 80 hours in and still have a couple unexplored zones, as well as only beaten 1 divine beast.

I pretty much haven't played anything else other than Nioh despite needing to take a 2 month break from it.

One day I'll start Nier ;/

None. In a weird spot. No gacha game has hooked me, falling out of love with League of Legends, no big console game to play since I just finished Persona 5.

Just kinda casually taking on Nier.

Friday the 13th The Game. I haven't been playing it of course, but all I seem to do this week is watch streams of the beta. The wait until the 26th is killing me.

Guilty Gear Xrd for me.
I've made a couple of friends online and I've had the chance to finally learn the game mechanics properly.
It is so much fun, especially since I just recently gave up on SFV.

NBA 2K16

Play a few matches every night in MyCareer mode. Even when I'm tired.

My pointguard Freq, aka #9 Johnny Sasaki (from the Metal Gear universe), currently averages bout 38 mins a game and has played well enough in his second season to reach an overall rating of 85 and it's still climbing! Never spent a dime on microtransactions either.

Tryina keep his shots-attempt-per-game down as I don't want him turning into a volume shooter like an MJ or a Kobe or a Iverson or a Chamberlain. Instead he gets tons of assists and steals per game. He already shattered John Stockton's single season assist totals.

Right now NBA 2K17. Mostly the My park game mode.

Oh wow. Wouldn't you know it!

Playing through Persona 3 (FES) for the first time and I'm hooked.

Still can't get enough of Persona even after beating both P5 & P4G.

Game is an absolute blast. It feels like the devs have poured so much love into this little gem. I actually feel ashamed I've waited for a sell before buying it. It was easily wort the full price.

I'm pretty sure I'll have multiple playthrough and that says a lot for me.

Albeit late to the party with this one, Yakuza 0. There's so much to do or so see in between the abundant sidequests with long-term purpose, the fairly lengthy story with two contrasting perspectives and the properly executed mini-games. The latter especially includes several distractions which could easily be sold as their separate own game (at 15 bucks or so) if given more content, rather than going through the process of further refining the mechanics. What really brings it all home is the outstanding localization: I wouldn't have cared about most of the side content if the English writing hadn't expertly captured the tone of wildly varying events or circumstances, be it comedic / serious / repulsive / sincere / etc. moments, as well as the zeitgeist of its setting.

You can really sink your teeth into this one. Bonus points for including a solid 3D beat 'em up combat engine too.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a bit at least. Played 40 hours in the busiest month of the year for me, which is pretty good.

This is great to hear, I snagged it in the recent Humble Bundle and have heard one or two mixed comments about the gameplay. I'm definitely still going to check it out.

LOL. The my park mod is generally fun but most of the time no one passes to me. Then again just about no one passes. It mostly just one person dribbling the air out of the ball then shooting a three or trying to dunk it.

Paragon & Overwatch. Both have fun gameplay that I can enjoy solo or with friends. There's plenty of depth to learning their characters and the games are actually handled really well by their developers. Both being updated regularly and they communicate with the communities better than i've seen any other games. (fuck you sfv)

I wanna get back to Persona 5 as well. but Overwatch anniversary first!!

Modded The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I'm using a few texture mods, a UI Mod, Realistic Leveling and Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul. Currently at 50 hours, my playthrough will probably be 200 hours+.

It has been Earth Defense Force 4.1/2025 since it was released and still is. Don't think I'll be fully done with it before the fifth game is released later this year.

Shiren the Wanderer on Vita… It's on track to be the best roguelike I've ever played and probably would've surpassed Odin Sphere as my 2016 GotY. Really kicking myself for skipping it at launch. :/

I'm juggling between Daytona USA (XBO), Phantom Dust, DKC Tropical Freeze, and Xenogears. I rarely ever stick with a single video game for more than a couple weeks unless I'm obsessed with it. (I can see that happening with BotW. I have the Master Sword edition, all I need now is to finally find a Switch...)

On my second playthrough of BOTW (this time on Switch). Game just speaks to me in ways that very few do for some reason.

Also starting to really get into Thumper. Losing focus for even a split-second means a restart. LOL

Persona 5, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Mario Kart 8.

P5 in particular. I started NG+ on a game I put 104 hours into. I've never done that ever. I've never put 100+ hours into something and said "I could go again". (Except fighting games.)
