Should be on virtual console, so that's something to look forward to!reading this thread only makes me want a F zero GX switch port more and more.
id even pay a full 60 dollars to be fucking honest.
F Zero GX destroys all racing games.
Should be an HD port with online play....Should be on virtual console, so that's something to look forward to!
imagine facing a father and say:"your son deserves a better owner than you"Should be an HD port with online play....
F-Zero deserves a better owner than Nintendo.
This....really isn't very close to the sense of speed for F-Zero.
What a boring gif of Wipeout in the op. Looks like the first wipeout vs a modern Fzero. Wipeout HD should have at least provided a sea of easy to find gifs for it. I remember so many for it's OT, especially zone gifs.
It would be incredibly weird to see anyone who has played both say Wipeout with a straight face.

F-Zero GX is the greatest racing game of all time.

Sorry about that, i was on mobile while doing this thread, since i never had the intention to favour F-zero by showing off that sweet gif.
Wipeout is amazing but above phantom speeds, the game sort of shakes itself apart, car handling and weight going out the window. It's just not very fun. At it's highest speeds when you're bashing off walls in order to eek out boosts and are skating the thin edge between max speed in destruction, then and only then does F-Zero surpass Wipeout.
Also, why is FastRMX not a part of this battle??
Is the Wipeout gif used in the OP indicative of how it generally looks? Cause holy shit that's a sweet ass aesthetic. If it really looks so stylized most of time, then Wipeout hands down, no contest.

More people will say Wipeout because it's on Sony platforms. The truth is F-Zero are ace games, Wipeout is ok to have some fun.
I never played GX but the snes game and X were pretty shit honestly. I've loved every wipeout game
this one?

Its a mix between minimalism and clutter. The art and OST is what really makes Wipeout stand out from the others in the genre.
We bought Wipeout 3 way back in 2001, and it was one of the first games that really opened our eyes to what game graphics could be. Just take a look at the powerhouse intro:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtUPLP9Hndc
Seeing that intro was a formative experience for us — it was so mindblowing we immediately reset the PS1 to watch it again! We must have watched it 20 times in a row that first day, and hundreds more since. Those logos for the F7200 racing league and each of the teams are simple, bold, and distinct, and most of all, restrained. That's a tough combination to create. And the colours are so good! We created a colour scheme in N++ (see screenshot below) called F7200 as an homage to Wipeout 3 and tDR's wonderful sense of colour.
Each animation in that Wipeout 3 intro is full of personality, identifying differences between each team and bringing life to something you didn't even know could HAVE life. This is branding at its finest, and it really embellished the world of Wipeout, which could otherwise have been ordinary. That's a pretty important thing to think about when you're designing games, especially since it allows you to create some fantastic box art and other related marketing materials as well.
This. It's like people who say Driveclub is better than Forza Horizon.
Wipeout vs. Extreme-G is a much closer fight.
So, if someone has a different opinion is wrong. Is this how internet works, isn't it?This. It's like people who say Driveclub is better than Forza Horizon.

F-f***ing-Zero
The Wipeout series has always felt soulless/designed by committee to me.
WipeOut was designed by a dude who wished he could play Mario Kart to techno music, no jokeWipeout's branding looks like it was designed by a group of people in turtle necks in a hyper moody Soho creative agency in the 1990s, F-Zero looks like it was designed by an individual who loved comic books and had a very vivid vision for the universe. Similar settings/themes but a totally different tone - and I absolutely love both.

The idea for Wipeout began in a pub with artist Jim Bowers discussing his concept animation for a high-speed racer with Burcombe, who had just completed Super Mario Kart on its 150cc mode thanks to a little help from some techno music. The regular game music had put too much pressure on Burcombe, especially during the final lap — when its tempo and volume rises. "I just couldn't handle it," he recalls. "I'd lost six or seven races in a row."
