May Wrestling |OT2| We watch it so you don't have to

Bingo

What made taker work early on was all the other shit to his character. You got weird backstage things, some graveyard stuff, him building a coffin.

Now? Now we just get music queues and grand entrances even when they're trying to surprise someone. It's all spectacle.

Remember when they just gave away the Demon King entrance on a Raw

Not even the PPV literally the week later, but the Raw right before it. And not even to close the show, but the middle of the show

Non tournament action for Super Strong Style this weekend, the Women's Title Final is Day 2 Main Event.

Nakamura is dope but he hasn't lived up to the hype. He just ain't cut out for the WWE in the way many hoped he'd be. Honestly let's keep seeing how thing thing works because thus far he hasn't been impressive at all on the main roster.

I know, dudes are gonna be making excuses for him and all that shit but hell it is what it is.

I thought Kay Lee was in a development deal with WWE?

But hey, I'm crazy for not liking or buying into Nak right now. I'm buying more into Jinder fucking Mahal than I am Nakamura

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
The fact that people complain both that Nakamura is over pushed, and is going to be a future racist-caricature jobber is amusing.

Depends if they want a UK Women's division I guess. If they're not off to Florida, they'll be around enough: see British Strong Style

I could see it. But I don't know how smart of an idea that is. The only reason it even kind of makes sense for the men is that the NXT men's side is pretty busy at the moment. WWE's women's roster is weak. They need talented workers. So it'd be weird for them to willingly sequester a bunch of them off to only be on the UK roster.

I will buy WWE 2k18 day one if they add a roll-up only match.

Who am I kidding, I'll probably get it for my birthday again.

Smackdown Viewership:

Tuesday's WWE Smackdown Live averaged 2.328 million viewers for USA Network, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was up from the 2.175 million count from last Tuesday's edition.

Lebron is still a draw with his NBA game doing 7 million on tuesday while the Warriors against Raw did 5.7 million.

Yup. Jinder already lost viewers and a tiny amount tuned in to see the novelty of him winning. Time to hotshot it back to Orton.

Or maybe, just mayeb, Smackdown is not as good as it once was. It's caught in the RAW trap and especially the two weeks leading into and out of a PPV

Bubba Ray spoke extensively about Jinder and Nakamura for two hours as of 17 minutes ago.

Says Jinder is at the right place and at the right time with this business in India and is making it work. Said he'll need to play the role of a foreign heel until it gets old, take a break and be repackaged to have more character depth. Suggests, and I agree with him thoroughly here, that Jinder doesn't need to be the "best" in the ring, just the most talked about and entertaining, which, to Bubba, he is. Reminded everyone that fans are smarks and that this is an entertainment business, not a best of wrestling business.

On Nakamura: he says Nakamura hasn't adapted to US style. I agree with the sentiment but not the semantics. Naka, ura had a hell of a year, I thought, in NXT. This is not a US vs JApan style issue; this is a WWE issue. Overall, he argues that WWE need to give creative control to Nakamura and that this is the only way this relationship works. Nakamura has to stand on his own two feet as a WWE character and not depend on his reputation alone to get him over. To someone who hasn't watch New Japan or NXT, his presence needs to be understood.

This goes back to a thought I had from this past Sunday: while I was watching KO and AJ, I couldnt help feel bored out of my mind up until the leg injury came into play. That matched surprised me because on paper, that should be an insta classic but felt boring to me. I attributed my boredom to that match on Sunday to "WWE Style".

Everyone on the main roster sucks right now except AJ and Strowman.

I expect next week's Smackdown to have better ratings as this week was a good show. If next week is a bad show, expect the week after that to go down again.

It's the Hellraiser principle. First two films were great, resulting in the third film being the highest-grossing of the series. However, it was a pile of shit, so the actually fairly good-again fourth film bombed at the box-office.

higher than last week but lower than two weeks ago, which was a taped show

also this is the show coming off a ppv, which traditionally gets a bit of a bump.

garbage rating for a garbage company that will be dead in 4 years and 11 months

Yeah, same thing happens with games too.

But I haven;t really seen the sentiment that it was a good show. At least from the people that I saw praising Smackdown early on in the brand split.

Aside from the opening segment being longer than needed so that everyone could get their turn with the talking spoon, I thought it was solid from start to finish.
