Cool, nice to see a clear version of that NES Cart art used in the trailer!

Set a good tone towards how close to the inspiration they're trying to be.

Man, I've been waiting for this ever since Warren Ellis said he was working on scripts for a Castlevania III adaptation, like, ten years ago. It looks almost exactly what I'd hoped/imagined, even then.

It's crazy to see this finally being realised. I'm so hype.

Man, Dracula looks too menacing in that rendition, they need to take cues from Universal Studios who knows how to make a proper Dracula

They are producing it and handling all creative stuff. The animation itself is probably Japan or Korea.

This looks shockingly awesome. Having just played through Castlevania 1 and IV for the first time, I am so ready for this.

Was totally expecting some low budget looking schlock. It's so nice to see more adult oriented western animation that isn't comedy or those DC movies. I hope the story ends up good! I'd want more shit like this if possible.

Gonna check out any more of them? Silly question. I recommend Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night (frankly all the "Metroid" like ones-- there's a name for those I can't quite recall), Dracula's Curse (which this is supposedly based around, the Netflix series), Bloodlines, and yeah, by my books, Lords of Shadow. Just the first one at least.

I intend to. I'm a big metroidvania guy, and the straightforward action style of 1 and IV sorta burnt me out for a bit. Was debating playing Simon's Quest and Dracula's Curse or just moving on to Rondo then Symphony and the rest. I love the Gothic style of Castlevania, so it's something that's been on my list for a while.

You really owe it to yourself to play Dracula's Curse (or even better, the JP version). It's what I would consider to be one Classicvania's best shining moments.

Bloodlines on Genesis/Mega Drive is another. Yamane made that sound chip SING.

Simon's Quest is neat, I think. I get the controversy around it, but it has some really unique aspects.

I love the mansions, for example, and the vibe I get from how they look, how they're designed and the soundtrack.

Why do people often recommend that English speakers play the Japanese versions of games? Would it be more enjoyable if you can't read the menus or the dialogue? I've had several people on here do this to me, and I don't get it.

I understand if the game was never released in the west, but I see English speaking speed runners and twitch streamers playing Japanese versions of games released in the west, and I don't get it. Is it a cool thing to do?

The games were censored in the west or had the difficult ramped up.

Because the Japanese versions are usually superior. The game being referred here, Castlevania 3, in particular has uncensored graphics and much better music (due to a different music chip being used) for the Japanese version. And because it's an action platformer, dialogue and text is minimal. It truly is a better experience when you play the Japanese version of this game.

Trailer looked cool, but was very disappointed to read that the director is going for "ultra-R" rating and "game of thrones" content. If true, I'd be quite sad and definitely skip.
