Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PS4/XB1 (fall 2017)

Lol no. The combat is amazing, agreed, but everything else is shit!

I mean, of course the person you replied to is wrong and I said it already in this thread but the character creator in this game is the best I've ever seen. Just in the way that everything you decide from the character's weight, to their arm length has an impact on gameplay. The sheer variety of characters you can create in the game is remarkable. I also think the plotline is done well. I like how mysterious and world changing dragons are in Dragon's Dogma, which is more akin to classic RPGs. So it's not just the combat but that's definitely the biggest draw.

In terms of world building, quest writing, choice and consequence, Witcher 3 craps on it from the highest heavens.

"hello?" "this is vagina"
Dragon's Dogma was the only game I've ever played where I had to stop playing because of performance, despite enjoying it a lot. Looking forward to this.

Yeah, the aspects about character creator that connected with the combat like height/weight/stamina etc, were great, but other than that, I don't really care for character creators. Fighting dragons was great, but nothing related to the plot and the characters was interesting.

But I do hope for a sequel where they improve on all those story (world, quests, etc.) aspects. Basically, I want DD combat with Witcher 3 tier everything else.

Quadruple dipped now. I seriously hope we get Dragons Dogma 2 in our lifetime.

Hell, I would love to just try out DD:Online at this point.

Fave game of last gen for me, Was hoping for a PS4 port, Hopefully it removes the black borders as doubt i'll suffer that again for £30 smackaroonies.

Dragons Dogma gameplay is the only one that beats Dark Souls for me.

You can just go to the DDON Reddit. Total setup time is like 2-4 hours depending on download speed, optional patches, and your ability to finagle your way around instructions and Japanese text.

If you're only into DD and dislike MMOs, however, DDON is absolutely not for you. It's an MMO first and foremost, always stats over strategy. F2P mechanics aren't super intrusive unless you want a strong/optimized character and hate the idea of waiting hours for items to finish crafting. The new monsters and bosses are great in the "man, I wish they just ported these things to proper DD so I could fight them legitimately" sense, but are a chore to take down in a grindy MMO.

And if you don't have friends to play with, be comfortable with spending Elder Dragons in Monster Hunter levels of time (30-60 minutes) killing bosses around your level.

Wait a minute... could this even be a thing?? Holy crap! That'd be so awesome if they allowed this!... Highly skeptical, but if so, that will EASILY be Day 1 then.

Probably not, but so much of the main storyline is skippable, classes are so different, and the best gear is obtainable so early that you won't have to spend long playing catch up.

If it isn't 60fps, there's no point.

Wouldn't surprise me if Capcom makes this still target 30.

I'll get this if it's cheap just to give it another try. I could not for the life of me get in to the vanilla game on PS3, but I still feel like there's a good game in there someone I just couldn't get hooked in to it.

PC version it was possible, yes. I highly doubt it will be the same for PS4.
Are you for real? You could transfer your PS3 save to the PC version? Tell me this is a joke. time for me to start some googlin'
Whaaaaa? Why? Wouldn't it be nicer to create a new character for a new adventure? I mean, my ps3 save contains a character that has finished basically everything in the game, I don't know what I would do anymore if I carried that save, hahaha.
Being level 101 (IIRC), I had it Platty'd, but never finished BBI. Would love to continue from there on the PS4 or the PC version.

Man if they had some sort of save transfer function for PS3 -> PS4, I'd double dip on DD. I finished all the content on DD:DA, but it was fun as hell just running around that world as well as loaning out my Pawns.

I need to restart on the PC. I put the game down for too long. I tried to pick it back up a week ago and didn't remember shit, lol.

This is good news for the console people though. Best of luck you guys get 60fps.

For my main account, I have 3 other accounts that I keep from leveling as much as I can to sorta relive the moments of first playing. But when I wanna run roughshod across Gransys and BBI, I'd like to have access to all my powerful weapons, items, and armor I've acquired over the years. I have no problem continuing playing the PS3 version for that and I'm getting this day 1 no matter what, but it would be nice.

I am fucking IN. For the 3rd time. EVERY time.
switch too maybe pls capcom

Holy fuck I love this game. Please buy this, everyone. Needs a sequel badly.

I'll probably get this once my backlog is crushed a bit. This was one the best sleeper hits PS+ ever gave me. Such a good game.

Dragon's Dogma is one of my favorite games of all time. I've played it all the way through three times, plus a few partial playthroughs.

But I found Bitterblack Isle to be really dull. I couldn't even bother to finish it once. It lacks pretty much everything that made vanilla good.

Anyone else feel this way?

Dull, how?
most of the same enemies are( re-skinned) or bigger?

the design of the isle is meant to be opened up in pieces unlocking short cuts
I'd say this - if you guys ever play dragons dogma I highly recommend doing solo or only one pawn runs.

They are much more balanced and satisfiying IMO.

It's all the same dark dreary hallways with combat encounter after combat encounter. It's like
the Everfall
except not as conceptually interesting or grandiose.
