Wonder Woman

This book had been going down hill in my mind after it stayed in my favorites for a while, but this ending(to this storyline at least) brought it back around and ended pretty well.

All-New Guardians

This felt a lot more generic and lackluster compared to the first issue. The couple jokes had been seen about 50 places before this and most likely done better. I'll stick around another issue or two, but I really wasn't feeling this one.

Plastic

This issue cleared up some of the confusion coming from the first issue and made sense of some of the oddities. Still in on this.

The Old Guard

Finally this book delivers. After 4 issues of mediocre set up with not much to go on this issue actually had great character build up, some great developments and shit actually happening. Still wouldn't call this book amazing. But this issue felt great after sticking with this.

Black Hammer

Colonel Weird just gets weirder and weirder. I'm actually worried that by time this story all comes together that it's going to be confusing as hell because it will heavily revolve around Colonel and the time zone place he goes to.

Hal and GLC

I really hope this isn't the conclusion of this story line. It's fine enough, but I really hate when time travel stories like this just get wrapped up by someone randomly just stopping the future from happening. In this it's even weaker... Liked the reveal of who Sarko was though.

At which Issue is Amazing Spider-Man going back to the original numbering?
Cause 27 would be a good idea, its Issue 750

Edit: Nobody will really care about this, but I really love how Marvel works hard on having all 750 issues of ASM collected in any form. Just about 250 Issues left and no bigger gap then 4 years from 1976 to 1980, with a gap between the Original Clone Saga and Roger Sterns Run. Everything else is collected, with some really small gaps inbetween.
When I would power up, I would get really close to 550 of 750 collected issues instead of 450 of 750.

Jumped back into my Usagi Yojimbo backlog (Saga v3). All mini's at the front of the volume. Netsuke was short and poignant. A Funny Thing... where young Usagi and Tomoe meet was cute. Death and Taxes was hilarious. That old villager was great, hope we see him again.

Every time I read more of my backlog, I ask myself why I spend so much time on current Marvel or DC books...

27 is already out, maybe 32 so 755, It's also the first post-Secret Wars Issue

Isn't the old guard a 5 issue mini that he wants to come back to with more volumes.

I could see it making sense for the idea of the book, but it'd feel kind of weird. Of the 4 issues this is the first one where it feels like stuff is actually being given to us. We find out some more about characters, we see more of the villain, and we get some emotional character stuff. It feels weird to have that in the fourth issue with most before it being pretty bleh.

Guys, I've loved Kings writing but how some of his tweets have come across lately with his Batman run in really starting to get pretentious deuchey feelings. This tweet isn't really huge but it was this one where I was finally like...really? You couldn't have just said "It's kind of both" or something?

No mention of the CIA so I don't see anything wrong with it.

Hah. I am asking myself similar things as I'm in the process of clearing out my room which is soon to be remodelled. So many books I've bought, read and not looked at again. Some I'm trying to remember if I've even read them in the first place. A lot of drivel in there (like all the World War Hulk tie-in TPBs) which I blame on my younger naive self buying everything willy nilly.

It's certainly led to a lot of self-reflection on purchasing habits.

Just finished catching up with Deadly Class. That is a hell of a ride.

Gonna have to dig back through the threads and read some reactions to a couple key issues.
My friend that I read Deadly Class with totally disagreed with me that (about character deaths)
Marcus didn't die. I was completely convinced because they didn't show a body after the event that he was still alive. When they brought him back, he called it bullshit even though I believed there was foreshadowing.
He was so annoyed that he dropped the book after the next issue. I guess that was due to frustration from that twist as well as his feelings about Remender's cultural appropriation and total misunderstanding of Japanese people and culture.

The two followup series after were actually amazing.
And the art was great. A worthy successor.
Maybe I even like it a bit more then Fraction Hawkeye

Some of the favs:
-Deathstroke (it's about Deathstroke being a supervillain meathead who can only relate with his family through elaborate, wheels-within-wheels, plans that always have at least three levels of deception, it's very clever, and it hits pretty hard)
-Detective Comics (the Bat-Family comic, with a whole mess of fan-favorite characters doing cool things and hanging out)
-Green Arrow (It's a super-smart blend of incredibly cool action storytelling with your ripped-from-the-headlines social commentary that's not afraid to get into it)
-Superman (it's about Superman being a dad, with a reverence to the character and his history that gives it all the kind of warmth you'd want from a Superman book)

And those are just the uncontroversial ones. Those are big crowdpleasers. Those are the ones most people will agree on. The rest kinda depends on what kind of things you're into, but, it's all worth checking out.

I agree with this list. I haven't kept up with Detective after the first dozen or so issue, but I dig it. The other three are amazing.

Oooh baby that CMX image sale is nice

Edit:aw it's for comics before January of this year. Bummer. But for the already reduced collections that code stacks with the discounted price. Woah

Yeah, I looked through it last night and noticed it cuts off exactly on the last issue I own for many series. I wanted to pick up the recent issues of Saga and Paper Girls.

I would vote strongly against Green Arrow on anything after the first arc and a half, but I'm pretty sure I'm fairly alone here in that thinking. I've been pretty vocal on hating Percy's style of writing and not really having any kind of structure or plan in mind and seems to just go from one thing to another to another with no concern of anything actually making sense or adding up under any kind of scrutiny, and that just drives me insane.

I didn't realise Green Arrow was so well received Hah maybe I should check it out. I was going to skip.

At least check out the first arc since it's amazing. The book benefits tremendously from its art. I'd say it is consistently the best looking Rebirth book. It's the first book I read every other Wednesday.

I agree with you to an extent that it does meander some, but it feels like a Green Arrow story at heart. Fighting against corporate America, a clear Trump stand in, and we're building up to an all out war in the current arc. I'm on board.

Yeah Green Arrow's artists are great. I only read a handful of issues but it was good overall.

I like Batman and Wonder Woman's artists too. But in Batman's case, I'm just so-so on Finch while I like Janin and Gerards. Same for Wonder Woman only I'm not crazy on the way Sharp draws humans, while Scott and Evely are great.

Speaking of Wonder Woman, #23 came out this week and was the conclusion to the present day arc and it was a solid ending. Overall, a good run that really captured what Diana is all about and treated her very well. I don't think it hit the highs of Rucka's first run personally, but it's a good read. Think it's gonna read very well in trades.

Haha I pmed to be safe!

I want the Onslaught Spoiler!! Such a cool concept that was wasted on a terrible event. Liked the RedSkull Onslaught though in Axis.

Almost done with The Black Monday Murders. Still have no idea what is going on lol but man Hickman has packed this book full of content. I dont think ive ever seen 4 issues of a comic being as big as this series without a bunch of crappy backup stories and filler.

I havent been following the release schedule of the book until issue 5, has there been alot of delays? it it on a once a month release? I hope this book does well because its definitely the best book ive read in a while. Hope it doesnt end up like the Dying and the Dead.

A new comic shop opened up about 25 minutes away from my place a few months ago and I finally was able to check it out yesterday. The single floppies for Seven To Eternity have some of the best looking covers ive seen. I dont mean the art, just the type of paper they are using makes it look like an old wanted poster or something, dont know how to discribe it.

They have the entire run of Seven to Eternity and The Black Monday Murders accept for the first issues, should I pick them up for collecting? Will they be worth anything without the first issues? Anyhting else I should look for that was released within 6 months, aside from the Lenticulor covers for the Button?

Batman Beyond #8: This issue allows us to see exactly
Whats wrong with the prototype battle suit that Terry is now wearing. Also shows us that Bruce didn't stop being batman after having to use a gun, but stopped after he or should I say the suit killed 4 people hopped up on Banes Venom.
Nothing inventive, it goes pretty much as one could guess but it does it well enough to not feel like a forced retcon or anything. The ending was unexpeced,
Damian being the new leader of the League of Assassins caught me off guard as I thought it was going to be Ra's, as he's come back from worse than a cave in. It opens up questions that I hope will get answer next issue.

Infamous Ironman #8: I am really happy with the way this comic is going. It's well written and while the art takes some getting use to, it isn't bad. I'm glad we got interaction between Victor and Riri and I'm really happy with the way it went. I love the way people are taking Doom's turn around and she was one I wanted to see most sense he, like her, is taking the role of Ironman to do it. That ending though has me really impatient for the next issue.
Tony looks to be alive somehow and is now the Sorcerer Supreme of technology.

DeathStroke #19: Did not go where I expected it to.
Thought Death Stroke's deal with Slade would've been way more devious, but nope. Just make sure my daughter doesn't become trash like me. I doubt Wally teen lost his powers for good so not sure why they even pulled the "he lost his speed because DS took it" angle. Feels pointless to me. Slade getting to actually time travel is what threw me off. I thought he would've gotten stopped, but nope. He ran back in time and hugged his son. Really curious on how this will end. Guess I'm buying the Titan Annual to find out.

JLA #7: I like how simple and character based this book is. I'll admit, it's not the best in terms of story, like I said, really simple, but I need that as everything else is doing much bigger things and I could use a rest. So reading something more episodic helps.

Wasn't one of the ideas the DCAU played around with that
Ra's would take over Talia's body and mind in the future unless he was stopped?
