Superman was a desperate move because you can't have Supergirl without direct Superman references.
S1 did it so terribly and with changing networks it was basically a marketing stunt.

Arrow doesn't need Batman so WB wouldn't approve of it.

However I still think
1. Supergirl will eventually use Batwoman
2. Teen Titans will use Batman in some form

Just have Batman exist in the past and be a LOT character:

They also really dropped the ball in how they handled Superman. I'd rather not see the same done to Batman.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

Exactly.

Finally catched up. What a finale. Chase is the best Arrowverse villain and he just fucking won. Damn.

S6 when? I can't believe I am so hyped for another season of Arrow. I just hope it will at least be half as good as this one.

BEST

FINALE

EVER

To one of the best seasons ever.

The Moira scene was out of nowhere and hit like a ton of bricks.

Chase is definitely the best villain the entire DCTV universe has ever seen, beating out Slade and the Reverse Flash in terms of pure charismatic hatred.

Love that they tied up the island storyline by splicing it between present footage, and wrapped up the origin story really nicely.

Grizzlyjin

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I can't believe there are people who didn't love this season...

Different strokes for different folks. People hated all of Season 4, but for me that is when the quality uptick started. I really enjoyed a lot of what the show was doing in the last handful of S4 episodes. That finale was kinda weak but the partying ways aspect of it, I dug.

I think the majority of people liking this season speaks to the writers doing something right. Always room for improvement but I have to imagine the fanbase is pretty happy with what we got here.

Chase better than Reverse Flash? Hmm, I have to think about that one...

I don't really like Curtis. He's not funny or particularly charismatic. He's just sorta there.

Yup. I was hoping the T-Spheres would help somewhat, but eh, not fond of him at all.

Personally i love Curtis and i hope he survives but quits team arrow and get his man back. I totally cannot stand wilddog, though.

Wild Dog on the other hand I love though...

Wild Dog is great. He bounces incredibly well off most of the main cast. I love the bromance he has going with Detective Lance (and to a lesser extent, Diggle).

(And it doesn't hurt that he's cute.)

S4 would have been looked at a lot more fondly if the finale hadn't sucked. The five or six episodes leading up to it were fine.

Wild God >>> Curtis. It doesn't help that Felicity has better comedic timing than Curtis.

Chesthair, Diggle and Wild God have that dad bond. Which is really a unifying theme of the whole show as Chase and Slade pointed out (and obviously a big theme on Flash).

Diggle and Dinah's no nonsense bond is fun too.

Will drop pants for Sony.

Curtis is awesome. wild dog is crap yeah i said it

Wild Dog's an interesting one. I remember thinking he was garbage tier before the December break, and pretty great after. I'm trying to put my finger on where he made the turn- I think it was the episode where he went with Ollie and Curtis to recruit Dinah.

Yeah, I didn't like Wild Dog/Rene until about the half way point of the season.

Curtis needs more than his balls, I don't think having two comic relief characters works.

I can't believe the show never veered into a ditch. Very entertaining season. Chase was wickedly gloriously 500 steps ahead of everyone, the whole Spartacus crew shared the screen together, MANU DOUBLECROSS FAKEOUT TWICE KID, great flashbacks, and the possibility that Curtis is dead. Praise the lawd.

Sad to see Barrowman go, particularly because the Legion of Doom were great on Legends, but I do think it's the right time to give Merlyn a break on Arrow. I'd love to have Deathstroke as a semi regular anti-hero because the history him and Ollie share adds a nice dynamic.

In any case, I hope this season wasn't just a weird one off return to form. The team here is strong enough to keep the momentum rolling, especially if the flashbacks are actually over and they can give everyone more to do apart from the team.

Well, Merlyn only worked well again because they put him on a different show, so new dynamics and what not. But on Arrow, yea, his time is long done, for now at least.

True, guess they left it open so that they can use him again if necessary. There's always a way. Can't be just killing off Boomerang like that either...

Shit that's right
Boomerang has to die
He's the last living remnant of the DCEU Squad in Arrowverse right?

It would be terrible if they killed the best boomerang so Varro comes out looking better.

It didn't help S3 they had to force the Arrow team to keep him around even though all their problems was caused by him being on their team.

Yeah same in the beginning i thought i was going to hate but he's one of my favorite characters on the show now.

I like terrific but i don't care fore curtis if he disappears i wouldn't miss him honestly

Hopefully Slade can join the show next season as a fulltime character.

It would honestly be a great way to start the show as a soft reboot, if a bunch of the old characters actually did die at once.

Nah, is just a few butthurt Arrow fans taking things personal because their show got criticised. Like children you just attack the poster and ignore the argument.

Grow up.

Says the guy trying to convince people who like watching Arrow that they're wrong and the show sucks.

This isn't a circle jerk thread, I'm sorry but it's for everyone who watches the show. If you cannot accept differing opinions and discuss them respectably maybe you and a few others should keep your thoughts to yourself.

Guys, there is a very easy solution to this problem. It is called ignoring the trolls.

Where is the trolling? I see a differing opinion being labeled trolling because nobody can refute the argument.

I assume nobody can refute it because despite so many replies nobody actually tried except one guy who didn't really manage it.

Only now just caught up after putting it on hold. Only had time to follow one CW DC show and I regret keeping with Flash now and should have gone with Arrow. Prometheus was a much better villain than Savatar. Also great to see Deathstroke come back. The ending felt very sudden though.

Why are the women of the league of shadows so goddamn hot...

Great finale, but I didn't really care for this season. The modern day stuff was great, but I didn't like the flashbacks. Overall much much better than Flash and Supergirl, but Legends was the winner this season.

Good, but not great. Definite improvement over the last season. Fact, it is hard for me to give it an honest review, cause my perception is colored by how terrible last season was.

  • Pacing as a bit jerky, but not unbearable. Props for CW trying shorter mini stories instead of just relying on character drama to propel everything.
  • Still not sold on Curtis- too hammy and inefficient as a close combat fighter. Should have made him a ranged tech fighter, but that probable eats too much CGI. Still hate the outfit.
  • Grudging like Mad Dog by end- addition of his daughter backstory made him more believable. Also gave Chesthair a good sub story.
  • Like new Black Canary, but a) introduce way late in the game and b) introduction rushed.
  • Like Ragman- but his power set was too powerful for the show. Felt he was dropped due to CGI reasons.
  • Like how they got rid of Chesthair and Thea for awhile instead of dwelling on them being mopey all the time. CW found a balance that I like here.
  • Not being the center of the show and love made Felicity better this season.
  • The end finally of blowing up the Island what "more grounded" and believable a challenge for Arrow to face.
  • Not sure how I feel about Chase. Yes, he was bad guy wise a good foil a season. But I never found him compelling. Though I prefer not caring for him oppose to say Darke- who had a great personality, but stupid story and finally. Either way, smaller goal bad guys are better for Arrow than world destroying ones.
  • The Russia back story by far was the best part.

When you made your opinion clear that you believed that season 3 and 4 were "dire"(they weren't) and that people only like S5 in it's mediocre state because of how bad those seasons were, I outlined reasons why people liked season 5 in a vaccum.

Then you gave reasons why you personaly disliked S5, just you, ignoring your assumption that people just liked it because it wasn't awful (S3 and S4 weren't awful either btw). Then your reasons for disliking Chase...could apply to Slade. Even more so actually.

Chases plan was to ultimately to blow up an island with olivers friends on it and shoot himself in front of olivers son- yeah great plan dude. Genius. GOAT villain...
