B the b game you want to b.

Seriously what was the deal with that overlay screen shot thing in the Force unleashed. I totally don't remember anything like that on the 360

an actual good actual b game

This would be a good pick for a future installment. It wasn't a great game but just being able to wander around Voyager was cool at the time.

Technically Force Unleashed is a G-Game because Lucas signed off on it, I think

Man, people are really upset that Silent Hill 3 is the better game.

Nope. The story, themes and everything about Silent Hill 2 had a much bigger impact especially when you go through it a second time. Akira Yamaoka was also on some next level shit. I'm also glad we got Guy Cihi(James) to commentate on the entire game because it showed that actually, Team Silent as a whole were operating on some next level shit.

In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill. You promised me you'd take me there again someday. But you never did. Well, I'm alone there now... In our 'special place'...Waiting for you...

someone correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like people mostly ignored SH2 when it originally came out, specifically the significance of its themes and story telling

had it come out now, it would've probably gotten a bigger and more positive critical reception

it was ahead of its time for sure

SH2 was very popular. It was the most popular SH game afaik

It coasted a good deal on the popularity of Resident Evil. I knew a lot of people that weren't really "game" people that bought it because they liked RE

I mean I've always felt that survival horror is somewhat of a niche genre but those who played SH2 back in the day knew what's up. I played it in November 2001 when I got my PS2 with SH2+MGS2. That was quite the day. Infact, Playstation 2's first year was insane(technically it released at the end of 2000).

Despite that SH2 was popular for it looking mindblowing back in the day(it still holds up). Everybody remembers the "James looking at himself in the mirror" scene(even though it's CGI).

SH2 was very popular at release thanks to the popularity of the first game on PS1. It's still the best game in the series.

I guess I'm thinking more about reviews, how reviews and press have evolved, and how the "conversation" around SH2 would have been different had it come out now

I still remember reading an SH2 review in some Xbox magazine and the reviewer not going any deeper than "it's dark"

and then finally playing the game a few years later and it being much, much more than that

early PS2 years were crazy good, the whole console, really

I get that. I think the reason why I picked up the first game was because it was described as a darker Resident Evil and I do remember a lot of comparisons with the survival horror genre without discussing the depth of games themselves.

Can somebody here just spoil Nier for me? Cause there is a 0% chance I will pick this game up again. I finally manned up and completed the second playthrough, started the third and died during a sequence where I guess I wasn't supposed to die so the game threw me back to the main menu and was all like "Lol, have fun replaying the last 2 hours or so!"
Nope.

Noooooooooooooope.
No thanks.

I might just listen to that Spoilercast Alex did.

The exact same thing happened to me and I put it down for good. No regrets.

Definitely listen to the Waypoint thing. Also at least watch the cutscenes on YouTube.

Silent Hill 2 TV ads were all over the place, and it was the best selling in the series, I think. Those ads were pretty easy to remember, since they featured the letter interspersed with some loud-ass monster screams.

EDIT: Ah, saw the above. nm then.

Not really feeling Rime from the QL.
I also kinda don't like the look of the game which is weird cause after the first trailer I thought I would love it
