the greatest night in the history of our sport?

I'm trying to get into the little indie circuits and even some NJPW stuff, but the nonstop false finishes ruin it for me. Riccochet is one of the most amazing athletes I've ever seen lace up some boots, and the Young Bucks have some of the most creative spots I've ever witnessed; but they get so tied up in the wow factor they completely forget how to tell a story from a match and pace it out.

Just like that Omega-Okada match from a while back... the infinite false finishes ruined it for me. It's like these guys are like Hideo Kojima and need an editor, because they let their creativity go just a bit far and ruin their match.

Is this really just me?

It's not just you. Luckily its more of an Omega-Young Bucks issue. Okada can reign it in with the right person.

I guess that will be the excuse when the rating is the absolute shits even with no NBA competition? Lol

It's Memorial Day in the States. Nobody's at home watching TV. Everybody's out and about having barbecues and fun outside. We can't expect people to make Raw appointment viewing in the age of DVR.

That's your bevy of excuses.

When it comes to understanding feminism and anti-racism the OT is a horrible place like that black feminist event thread shows. Why can white people not understand that women / poc want a separate space to reflect, construct on their issues? This white savior complex is one of the worst aspect of the left.

I like that those women get painted with racist, evil... and yet say Milo threads end up being oh he's just a troll

Yeah, the way someone like Milo gets categorized as "just" a troll because he is white, but someone that is a woman / poc get the categorization of racist here on GAF shows how the white privilege works. That is why I always have problems working with the progressive left, they just do not want to understand those issues form the experience of poc / women. Heck, even on some more radical groups like with some anarchist / antifas I find the same issues.

Wait the cruserweight title match is a submission match.

Does anyone on were know what they are doing

?

Their entire feud post Mania has been based around submission... Neville was close to taping before digging into Aries' injured orbital bone at Mania, he was inches from taping at Payback before getting him self DQ'd... submission match is some of the stronger more logical storytelling they've done for a gimmick match in ages.

The last thing I want out of the CWs in a submission match.

Imagine booking ricochet vs osprey in a submission match

Kushida/Taguchi is how you could do a strong submission match. Neville and Aries aren't the type of wrestlers for it, no matter how logical the setup is. It's endemic of the CW problem. They have no clue what they have and what made the CWC succesful in the first place.

Wrestlers aside, submission matches demand audience investment in the wrestlers taking part, which none of the 205 crew do.

I don't believe that at all. It's that the audience that wants to see movez/nobody selling isn't actually as big as it thinks it is.

fire everybody below 6"2 imo

It's not that that style of wrestling has no place. It's that the CWC could do stuff like that because it was self-contained; Kota Ibushi kicking out of a burning hammer doesn't mean anything there because it was just a cool spot to pull out. If Neville is kicking out of burning hammers at a PPV while Braun Strowman dies to a spear it looks really dumb to the people who don't regularly watch the CW division.

We don't really have a way of knowing that though do we? That's also assuming the average wrestling audience is more sophisticated than we think it is.

Also, WWE has its fair share of no-selling, let's not kid ourselves.

yeah but the people who sit on their hands during the CW matches and make 205 Live one of the most miserable wrestling shows to watch out there don't know what a fucking Burning Hammer is, nor do they care that the small goat man just kicked out of one.

It's all in the WWE presentation and construction of character, which is especially awful with the CWs.

I actually guess we agree that it doesn't have much to do with the in-ring, even if they were allowed to go out and have balls to the wall spotfests non-stop, I think the division would be in the position it is today.
