Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

I'm here legit laughing.. what else does the casual crowd want ?

The whole thing is pretty great. People are comparing Tekken 7 to SFV despite launching with like 30x more content. The roster is in the mid-30s but it's shit because a few "staple" characters (who decides that?) didn't make it in. There's a lot of "there was a few characters/stages/modes in the last version" which is a whole other issue because fighting games will be expected to get perpetually bigger and bigger or not bother to release a sequel (Smash is going to reach this point very soon and the meltdown will be amazing).

I'm curious how well it'll sell. It definitely seems to be worth the $60 to me and most rational people, casual or hardcore, but I don't believe that means too much in regards to a game's success. The sad thing is the "lack of content" will be cited as the reason why it sold poorly if that's what happens.

And to keep this related to SFV I think this backlash to Tekken 7 solidifies that SFV can't be saved in the court of gaming forum public opinion. It's go NRS big or go home.

Loot boxes are trash
Sure go ahead and give me gear and voice clips for characters i could'nt give a damn about

Just be like KI and give me gear for the character i used dammit

That reminds me.

I wonder if they'll sell the soundtrack for S1, S2, and new stages.
You can already buy the soundtrack for the original release, and I've been thinking of grabbing that.

I mean, they are but that's a biog revenue stream. NRS knew what's up, probably make more money off Lootboxes a lone than Capcom did for this title.

NRS doesn't need to make more money with their games.
They aren't poverty like the rest of the FGC

Can you actually buy loot boxes with real money in IJ2?
I thought those were in-game currency only, which I don't think you can purchase with real money.

SFV could deliver puppies to your doorstep and fix all the problems it has and it still won't stop being a meme.

People were complaining about Tag 2 having too many characters and they would want more ontop for 7 lol

Missing replays and online practice is a real problem tho

Pre-loading tekken 7. Time to drop SF5.

Real talk I might be working at an office for a typical 9-5 (or 10-6 or whatever I wanna clock in) and I have no idea how I'm going to juggle all these fighting games.

I'm going to sooner sideline other titles in other genres for them though. Fighting games first.

I used to play it all but now

Man I don't have the time

Gotta put all my chips into fighting games.

(And games like Nioh, Yakuza, etc...)

Nioh and Yakuza are just evolved versions or Soul calibur and beat em ups

So I read they're going to have new Trials for every character now, does that mean the old Trials are gone? Several I never finished and that would sort of chap my ass knowing that FM is long gone.

I'm probably the only person affected by this but I really like to do the Trials and make combo videos, the FM was a bonus of course but I liked the challenge and reward when you'd finally nail that last one.

The old trials are still there.
You now pick between "Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" before selecting a character.

Screw it, I think I'll get Tekken. I always struggled wrapping my head around it when I was younger, but I'll try to make it work this time. I'll probably wait until next week to get it though so I don't screw up my data cap for the month.

So I guess I now have 2D fighters covered with SFV, 3D fighters with Tekken, and possibly "what is this I don't even" fighters with Marvel when that drops in the fall.

They kept V1 trials in for a version of the game that'll never exist again?

I get having a few less characters than MVC3 is bullshit, especially with reused animations and such, but man dudes in there are going nuclear.

It's Marvel
They can have 7k posts for months over nothing so imagine getting news
Especially when it's not positive news

It's no surprise, really, when you just see how the game actually looks. Hopefully the fighting itself is good, but it seems MvC:I's launch is gonna be a mess with missed potential. Yet again.
