Is Unclassifiable a word, especially when it refers to feelings?

Ginseng is into finding new things, classifying them, etc. and their vocabulary tends to reflect that.

Vetala are evil and give off a creepy vibe, and thus fall outside of their understanding of science.

How is the PC physical edition? Is it a non-DRM, non-Steam version of the game, or is a Steam account still needed to install the game? And are the Windows/OSX/Linux versions on the same disc, or is there a need to specify the OS when ordering the physical edition?
Will there be a non-DRM GOG/humble store/etc release?

I'm really interested in the physical edition for computers, but if it just means having an extra Steam key it's not really worth it, compared to the console editions (which also get a digital Steam key)

this tier:

Physical PC release will be DRM-free and include all three PC versions on the disc.

Digital DRM-free releases will be out a bit later down the line. Not exactly sure when, since 505's handling that.

Thanks! That's super reassuring, I like the Steam convenience but I try to grab DRM-free / physical releases whenever I can.

Nice air grab! Though, I can't tell, are you really planning to make a suplex "state" for all of the enemies? Or is this usually just still from a standard knockback state, but positioned on Phoebe's shoulders? Will this count for bosses, especially large ones? I suppose they'd have to be able to launch first though (or have another vulnerable airborne state).

I'm certainly not averse to Sabin shenanigans!

Each enemy has multiple hitstun frames that we draw on for throws, so it's not new animation, just a smart reuse of existing frames.

I cant show you guys what Im working on for Indivisible, but know that I stayed up till 2am last night trying to fit all those goddamn blue UV's inside that colored checkerboard.

I do it all for you.

So, what is this? Some sort of texture file thingy or something?

It's a model unwrapped, it's whats called UV mapping and by unwrapping and placing the pieces inside the checkboard area you see in the picture you can paint the actual texture onto the faces of the model using the texture sheet. Once the pieces are fit in he would then export the image and take it into a program like Photoshop and paint the actual textures.Looks cool though I'm interested in seeing what it actually is. Phoebe also looks super cool this is coming along nicely.

What Cmagus said. Its the single, most aggravating part of the 3D process (and Im good at it, haha) Doing this properly (or improperly) is key in how sharp or blurry textures look, how much texture memory your game uses, how many unique textures your game can have and whether you can see the seams in a texture or not.

So, for instance, whatever is the biggest element that makes it in that square, will have the most texture detail because it has the most room so it will look sharper. Being able to prioritize what gets more space vs what gets less space vs what can layered on top of each other is pretty important. Its kind of like managing your inventory in Resident Evil except its 0 fun :D

Sounds like a biiiiiitch.

UV mapping and rigging seem like the worst things.

But unfortunately you can't really separate UV mapping from the texturing process. Rigging, at the very least, you can hire a technical artist to do it for you.

Would have loved it if they could have given all characters voices from someone who better represented their origins but I guess that's a tall order.

Stephanie Sheh is one of my fave VAs (and Cass Lee too, glad she's also in the game), and she's a really perfect fit for Razmi. I love how low and gravelly (and grouchy) her voice is going for the role, too.

Yeah, I'm loving these clips and they're just reminding me how glad I am we're past the V.O. goal. I also find it neat that Christina is directing the voice acting. I wonder how common it is for voice actors take on such a role.

We're trying to whenever possible, but it's definitely not easy. And the performance has to come first.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
That's awesome. I have to decide if I want the Switch version enough though, or stick with what I have just in case there might be performance issues for that version.

Wanted a portable version since it's inception, but backed anyways.
So glad it paid off. Don't need the PS4 game now.

That's a good question: Selections for Rewards have already happened, so can selections be changed, or is it fixed? The Switch Version seems slightly different, assuming I remember what comes in the other Physical editions correctly, so perhaps not.

Can someone here check their survey and see if Switch has been added?

There's no way to do this in advance, so I'm currently working my way through all the updates that need to happen to add the Switch version.

Yeah, I just changed mine.
Great work on getting the Switch version!
Now I'm even more hyped for the game.

Just upgraded to physical thanks to the switch announcement. Been waiting impatiently for this ever since it was mentioned a few months back

Thank you Lab Zero and thank you 505 games. :D

I can say that it does not show up on Add-ons in my end for the physical edition.

Crossposting from the Switch announcement thread:

Hoping you guys go all in with HD rumble on the switch. It would be nice if each character's attacks had a unique feel to go along with their unique attack animations. If long combo strings are a thing, have the level of vibration build to a climax. Let us feel projectiles travel from one end of the screen to another. That type of thing :)

Game looks great!

I've been avoiding coverage since I backed this ages ago, so the new Qadira is an unfortunate surprise to me. This is such a downgrade, she's lost all her charm. I understand simplifying for animation purposes but even the new eyes look off.

Most everything else looking good but this is still a bummer to me.
