Thatgamecompany could swing either way. They have history with Sony, but I could see MS ponying up the cash. The kind of PR of securing a former Sony dev may be attractive to them. Meanwhile, Sony seems less interested in small-scale non VR games these days.

This is really the only reason I could see thatgamecompany's new game at Microsoft.

I know it's apparently much improved but seeing Knack 2 among that lineup made me laugh

Sucks that the 3 First Party games i want the most are insanely unlikely to happen. Hell, 2 are definitely not going to be announced. SP is doing something new, so no Infamous. Jaffe just put out Drawn to Death which means no Twisted Metal for now. Unless they're doing one with out him. Only one left is a sequel to PS Allstars and i really doubt they'd announce it at E3, thats the perfect PSX game. And even if they announce it, i'd probably be disappointed because it wont be what i want.

I think this is the first E3 in a long time where my expectations are really low. Spider-Man should be awesome and i want more Days Gone, but thats it. Everything else i want i dont expect to be at E3.

It's the sequel to Knack.
...

So they can't conceivably improve based on criticisms of #1?

As per ThatGameCompany, I imagine that if they were interested in doing exclusives they'd check with Sony first, but I don't think that's where their heart is.

Journey brought them global recognition, they can self publish digitally with no problem I imagine. Or they'd go with a very hands off Indie Publisher interested in wide releases.

Fully expecting a PC/ PS4/ XB1/ NSW release from them (possible delay on NSW due to morecrecent and different profile).

I also think Borderlands 3 will be announced at Xbox as well.
Indeed. Sony already have 3 FPS games that are more than likely going to appear in the conference. Hell maybe even 4 with Far Cry but I can picture that being PSX instead when the other 3 are out (obviously it'll be a major focus of Ubi's).

I'm not sure what you're saying here. If you're talking about Sony/Microsoft publishing their next game then I seriously doubt either of those are realistic possibilities, since thatgamecompany left Sony specifically so they could go multiplatform. Pretty sure we've even heard talk of investors providing them funds, which lends credibility to that.

But if you're talking about timed exclusivity deals then it's not like Sony have cancelled Pub Fund. They're still helping out on tons of small scale games, they just don't seem to be funding and publishing that many any more.

Is Sony doing that thing they did a few years ago where people can line up to watch their conference?

I was just referring to which conference it could be revealed at. Should've been more clear.

Edit: which would go along with a marketing deal I suppose

I forget if Sony usually starts with a new game announcement or previously announced. Can anyone remember which?

I'm going to make a wild guess that Insomniac's Spider-Man will start the show. It's a huge PS4 exclusive by a talented team, and it was already announced.

I forget if Sony usually starts with a new game announcement instead but I don't think they do. Can anyone remember if they start with unannounced titles?
2015 - TLG, Horizon
2016 - God of War, Days Gone

Last year, GoW art was leaked but afaik the game was still new, same as PSX with Uncharted: Lost legacy

"The E3 lineup looks sick...well, some of them might not be there but still!"

Heh

I mean it's still gona be a great show if even 75% of those are shown more in depth but still that tweet is kinda weird haha

I know in the grand scheme of things it might be a minor thing but I hope that the orchestra is back again or some sort of live performance.
They better be or it's gona be a bummer.

As far as Reiner's comment go, I think the only game on that list that's really in question is TLoUPII. It seems like all the others will be there in some form or another.

80+ for Knack 2 is pretty much expected. IMO. It just needs to be a fun game, and it should hang on low end 80 at least.

So you are saying that it needs to a good game to get good reviews. Hmm... j/k

I am not as bullish about 80+ as some of you, although I do think it will surprise many people. Knack name won't do it any favour in terms of reviewers giving it a fair shake.

Yeah, I just can't see TLoU showing up so early, and immediately after PSX like this. Everything else is fair game.

I doubt its a new IP since the lead game has always been a title that gamers have been familiar with. TLG was in limbo up until its revival in 2015, GOW in 2016 and Uncharted at PSX 2016.

Only title I can see that will fit the bill for the opener is Bloodborne 2.
