But seriously, this is just a scrim team most likely. They had an open slot and no team, so Echo Fox probably paid each of them a decent chunk of change to stream under their brand, participate in some online matches for hype, and pimp the brand. It's win-win for everyone. Streamers can keep streaming and Echo Fox gets mega publicity.

the way i see it, cloud 9 would never had existed if they had franchising back then

here we had one of the top 2 soccer teams relegate and come back and then win tournaments and it was an awesome story (actually riots and looting that happened as an immediate consequence of the team being relegated aside lol)

i honestly don't see the benefits. i don't necessarily mind it so much, it just seems really dumb

it's not the writers' fault, it's the designers for making convoluted systems like those

then again it's a f2p game so purposely confusing systems are kind of the norm

Yeah, Cloud 9 would've never come up if franchising had been a thing before. I think the whole "5 guys with a dream" team thing is dead though. LCS teams have such a support structure with coaches and analysts that you can't really get into the scene unless you have a similar support structure.
I think UOL might've been the last team to actually do that.

Playing on KR, I have two things to say:

1) I fucking. Hate. Blind. Pick.

Like, I get that queue times were kinda slow, but I'd rather have that than have to deal with blind pick, since...

2) There are so. Many. Trolls.

Either someone autolocks a roll. Int if they don't get their role champ. AFK.

If I had to guess, I'd say that maybe half of my games are "normal." And that's being generous.

I get that Normals are Normals, and I don't mind people fucking around, since it isn't ranked or something. But being a hard-headed ass about things is just immature.

Also people think I "pretend to know English" when I type in... perfect English. :p
But that's not a complaint. I take it as a compliment to my subpar Korean, haha.

EDIT: Also doesn't help that I have like no champs, lol. I should just go play at a PC bang, honestly. But now that I've bought Ahri and Kat, I can branch out to other roles.

i also don't get what cs teams are supposed to be play for now?

like i feel franchising makes it so that b teams have players caring more about their own individual performances so they're picked by an lcs team than actually winning as a team and being promoted to lcs?

like this qtpie team proves just that for me, challenger league is not gonna be competitive cos there's nothing really on the line?

also to me it's really bizarre that sponsors and teams are so scared out of relegation. you need to be bottom 2 and really suck to relegate. like liquid and envy made it out and relegations and they're really bad...

Yeah pretty much. They're gonna be farm teams to see what players are good and let new players get some serious game experience.

Yeah the Echo Fox thing seems kinda weird. I don't think every academy team will be like that in a post-franchise world but we'll see, I guess. The Echo Fox team is probably mostly acquired for streamers and brand building now that the final challenger splits are completely meaningless.

Why pretend like you care about NACS to begin with? And of course any team would be scared of relegation when it means losing everything. You're never going to get an up and coming team that can fill a full roster well when the pro teams already struggle to do that across every region.

So I get autofilled into adc which I'm not great on but I can at least farm ok and pressure lane. Have a plat 4 soraka against Lucian and Thresh. Level 1 and the soraka hasn't casted shit..I'm like ??? He walks past the minion wave to get a coin, gets hooked, flash heal blown on our end..He then sits way in the back, they walk up on me and kill me at level 2. Lane lost.

I watch the replay and he took....w first. also took no potions...his first two items on the next two backs are boots and then doran's shield.

This guy is a plat support man..my god.

Ranked believe it or not..

I just don't understand how you get to plat and take soraka heal first against a lane fighting for level 2. Shit just drives me crazy. like a thresh lane should never have such an easy level 1.

I'd ask why you wouldn't replace Essence with Black Cleaver, as that gives 20% cdr as well as additional armor shred, but I can understand if you want your E to crit 2 times out of 5 instead of 1.

Franchising might be the worst thing that could happen to NA LCS. There is a reason why MLS is mocked around the world, mainly because of no relegation.

this is interesting, a calculator for how much ip you spent on runes. it's not quite accurate since you can buy runes on 2x1 sales and a lot of the runes i have were bought before they went down in price but yeah, you can tell how big a money sink those things were.

i've got a bit over 200k at 20 rune pages and a ton of different runes, tho mostly for midlane. looking at my runes it was kind of fun seeing some og s2 stuff like gp5 quints or mp5/lvl yellows heh

200k is about 30 6300 champions, yipes

ignore the list on the right, that's probably (hopefully cos holy shit that's bad) not gonna be the rewards they give out

i'm not expecting a big retribution or anything, and ip is probably really useless for people with as many runes as me who have more ip than they know what to do with it, so it should be something else. skins are a good thing, but random skins, and shards at that is really lame. an icon is nice but we should get like a cool achievement on our profile or something also. and no fucking runelord volibear lol. it's not a bad skin but cmon...

Reksai is now strong. She has strong clear, good escapes, and can quickly gank without ult.

her ult is also pretty crazy. I made the adc and mid cry. I only played one game with her, but unlike ww, she is harder to kite, and ignores cc thanks to her ult range.

Boy. I've probably spent....over 200k on runes and rune pages. I have a full set of 20 pages, various T3 runes, various T2/T1 runes. I even have the stupid halloween ones from 7 years ago.

I only got two rune pages, and used the same ones for years for like 20 champs. Probably why I am in gold, but rather spend the ip on champs.

Can't log on to my NA account since I'm in Korea now, but I've bought 8 rune pages - all when the 2-for-1 deal was going on.

And a good number of runes, so I've probably spent at least 60~70k IP. Dunno if I quite crack 100k, though, since I've only been playing for two years.

i'd say i regularly use 4 of those. would be 6 if i still played corki/varus i guess

Looks like I've spent about 50K IP in tier 3 runes. My current pages are as follows:
- Balanced AP: Mpen reds, armor yellows, mr/lv blues, ap quints
- Offensive AP: Mpen reds, armor yellows, rank 2 mp blues, ap quints
- Full tank: armor reds, hp/lv yellows, mr/lv blues, 2 hp regen and 1 rank 2 armor quints
- Teemo A: as reds, hp/lv yellows, mr/lv blues, 1 as and 2 hp regen quints
- Teemo B: as reds, hp/lv yellows, 6 cdr/lv and 3 mr/lv blues, 1 as and 2 hp regen quints
- Yorick page: rank 2 ad reds, hp/lv yellows, mr/lv blues, 1 movespeed and 2 rank 2 ad quints

Many of those were 410 runes, and the three movement speed and two hp regen quints were 2K IP each. All four rune pages I got on 2x1 sales, so they "only" cost me 12.6k. Still, the number of champions I could've otherwise have gotten with that IP is kind of scary.

lost my promo 1-2. NEwt lets duo. these gold players refuse to win no matter how far they are ahead.

also pissed how both games I lost was due to a vi.


just sucks, because I can't dodge due to promos, but get fucked over in comp select because people have no idea how team play works.

Hmm, I only have 65k on this account assuming I spend my remaining IP on runes.

Reckon it's worth farming runes before pre-season? 100k seems like a believable target.

probably not

i doubt they'll give you the full ip back and you're probably better off saving that ip for chromas or whatever

my guess is that they'll do a combination of:
- %20 of ur ip back
- MAYBE your full rp back if you bought runepages with rp
- an icon for everyone that spent ip on runes
- maybe a special icon for ppl that had lots of runes or runepages or something
- some free chests

i was thinking of maybe spending a bit on runes to get to that 200k mark in case they do something special for big spenders but idk how much i'm willing to spend on an icon lol

hit Gold 4. this is the highest I have ever reached. nami is so strong atm. She remains untouched, and the gold starting item for her made her a must have.
