2017 Microsoft E3 Conference [Over]

What shirt should Phil Spencer wear today?

I doubt the 499,- price can be held up for too long. There are simply not enough good reasons for this premium markup. Forza, Metro surely aren't sufficient I'm afraid.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Conference was good, but also really good for a PC\PS4 owner. Nothing really sold me on xbox, i think i can already play literally everything that was shown without one?

Still, Metro, Anthem, Sea of Thieves and a few others looked really good.

People are being very harsh on this one. The games came thick and fast and a lot of them looked really good

Metro
Sea of Thieves
Anthem
Deep Rock Galactic
Dragon Ball
Ori
Cuphead

They all looked awesome. The bad news for MS is I'm buying them all on PC. They can stick the $499

Good showcase of games. Bad conference if you are trying to sell people on a mid-generation $499 games console.

I liked the show.
Liked Metro and the New AC coupled with a few titles like Last Night and artful Escape.
Bioware's new game is not something i enjoy playing and while i liked the art (as usual Bioware's artists exceed themselves) the game play and the co-op thingy is not for me.

Forza looked good too.

That was a pretty bad conference for me. There weren't many games I was interested in and most of the ones I was interested in didn't show gameplay.

I'm glad Cuphead finally has a release date.

Mixed feeling about the conference. Best games were multiplatform and exclusives don't really look good outside of Sea of Thives and Ori.
Edit:
Oh yeah and Forza.

The conference was quite good, in that at least they spent a very large time talking about games aside from that awful segment which turned into a Porsche commercial, and they'd a really interesting variety of games, but they didn't really do a lot to sell the Xbox One X in particular and there weren't many stand out games (Metro, Anthem, the Last Night, Ori, CodeVein, and Artful (something?) were the most impressive and interesting to me). Even still, the sheer quantity of stuff they showed kept it quite entertaining.

They certainly threw out the price very quickly too, and I'm quite surprised it will actually be $499. A very decent conference overall.

EDIT: Although I will admit, I too am shocked at the Halo omission. I also am slightly disappointed Anthem (seems?) to be an online-focused game.

Whats happens if:

Sony drops PS4 Pro and PSVR to $350

PS4 to $249

Announces cross platform play

Backwards compatibility for PS1,PS2,PS3(I know...)

Releases a Pro Controller

How about..

Sony shows new IPs that are actually exclusive. Already better than Microsoft.

9/10 conference for me. They showed tons of new, interesting looking games, no horseshit "Look how good Madden will look now" filler, and Anthem looks incredible.

EDIT - Fuck those people cheering the $500 price tag, though.

It was a much better conference from MS than normal. But there was no real wow moments for me and most of the games I'm interested in will be on other platforms. 7/10.

-No VR
-Average, dare I say, generic looking games
-Barely any exclusives
-For $499 they failed to sell the product, and the name is terrible, sounds like your average teen gamertag

At most I'd give it a 7/10

I thought it was an ok conference. They focused more on games which is good. But again. Too many console launch exclusives. So a lot of these games I'll be playing on my PS4. I mean the best announcement was OG Xbox BC. Anthem looks great, but I'll be playing that on PS4.

NOTHING shown here today convinced me to get a Scorpio and that's the sentiment I'm seeing on Twitter right now. And that price makes everyone other than the hardcore stay away.

5/10 (lower than I gave EA, even)

This conference had its moments, but it was also very emblematic of Xbox's problems at the moment. While the One X looks sleek, it's expensive and the game showing was really rough. Especially when you consider how many of the games shown are timed exclusives rather than full blown exclusives, and most of the standout world premieres are also on PS4. What does an Xbox One owner have to look forward to that no one else does? I mean, apart from the couple of console exclusives and some timed ones? That's the question I went into this conference with, and I don't think Microsoft did a very good job delivering the answer to that question.

Few things I've learned
- I don't really need an X. It's a toss up
- DBZ fighters was fire
- Crackdown had a poor showing but still there day 1
- day one for PUBG
- Anthem day one
- Sea of thieves looks garbage

Stayed since it was clearly ending.

Not a bad conference. Some cool games both big and small.
The main issues here though is that I don't own and Xbox and don't plan on owning one and yet I'm still going to play 90% of what was shown.

Cool show for gamers in general but I don't think they sold a lot of people on the Xbox brand with this.

Where's Biohazard 2 Remake, The Evil Within 2, Dead or Alive 6?

Where's the JP developers : Konami, Capcom, Square, Tecmo, Sega?

I raise your suggestions by also adding, Where Is

Battletoads
Crackdown MP demo
3D fighters
Ninja Gaiden type of game (or something action packed like on the original xbox to show off the framerate)
New IP to compete with Sony's TLOU, GoW, Yakuza, Nioh, Bloodborne

Why the hype. I don't get it.

I have a feeling Anthem was footage from a super high end PC environment. Doubt it was running on the Xbox One X. Preparing for a downgrade.

The show got better when they started showing games back to back, but overall there were precious few titles that caught my eye. Xbox has never been my jam, they just don't have the games I want to play, but Xox One has to be the low point for me.

I'm most excited to play Outrun 2 on my dusty old Xbox One than anything else shown

That was a bad conference... Especially for a new console launch... expected more from Mic. Also WTH with the exclusives.

$499.99.............. Fuck

2/10, super disappointed.

Not a single game I felt I "must have". Some of them locked real weak graphically, especially Crackdown 3. 499 was just the icing on the cake.

Giving the conference a 7.5/10.

Really wanted to see a brand new exclusive IP that we never heard of before.

But the X looks gorgeous, Cuphead and Crackdown 3 finally got release dates, and a lot of those indie games look superb.

Ass Crud O's gameplay looked eh, and although Anthem looks gorgeous it looks boring to play.

Super Foxy Tails seems like a new one, I kind of like it, just hope they don't dare to ask 60 bucks for it.

that was awful lmao looks like they were labeling everything "EXCLUUSIIVEE" in response to the Xbox has no games criticism which none of those games seem appealing

Anthem won the show and we will be playing that elsewhere

A solid C+

A good variety of third party titles with a sprinkling of indie timed exclusives and one or two actual exclusives which we knew about.

Ultimately the xbx is an interesting machine but its price point and lack of heavy hitting first party titles means its DOA in non-US markets.

I got into the stream when they were demoing that shadow of war (lotr) game so I've got a lot to catch up on, but everything I did see looked good.

I'm very excited for anthem though. That's coming to other platforms too yeah?

Also, Scorpio is Xbox One x?

$499? Let's see if it pays off.

I wonder if it'll be confusing for customers.
Xbox One
Xbox One S
Xbox One X

A wii u situation lol

One of the worst E3 conferences I've ever seen. They announed ONE new AAA excluive, and the one we all knew was coming. What the heck are Microsoft's first party studios doing? It's like they're all asleep...

Flawless conference. Perfectly paced.

We got info on the Xbox One X, price, saw some games that take advantage of it too.

Highlights for me were Anthem (Jesus Holy Mother of Fucking God), Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 3 free visual upgrades, Ashen, Ico, AC: Origins (Love the protagonist and really want to lose myself exploring that Egypt), The Last Night and the expansion of backwards compatibility.

In terms of Good, Bad and Ugly, there was no ugly. My only letdown was Crackdown 3 where the gameplay couldn't come close to looking as enjoyable as the Terry Crews rant. And while I love the gameplay shown for Shadow of War, that game just isn't a looker, Xbox One X optimized or not - lets hope it has it where it counts though.

Gotta admit, I'll consider a Scorpio - Anthem looks beyond stunning. But also for Forza. $499 doesn't seem unreasonable to me for the power on offer, especially as more games optimize for it.

Well done Microsoft. Well done.

I think I never left an E3 conference more let down than this.

Seriously, the high point of the conference for me was Minecraft 4K.

Man Microsoft had nothing. Tons of 'exclusives' nothing really big though, nothing to sell the Xbox One X (I still can't believe they are calling it that) at 500$

Imagine if Switch launched without Zelda, it would have been awful. I do not understand how they don't have some big exclusive to sell this new system, that is crazy to me.

4/10 conference. Worse than last year, probably the worst I've seen.

Totally agree nothing's made you go right I'll buy this monster. I'm always lenient and forgiving but some truely awful marketing even if the games are a solid 8 or 9/10 bad show . I will always be day one in a console but at the moment think not my Gears console will do me fine I think for now

Cuphead
Ori
The Last Night

That's all that did it for me. All games I can easily play on the Xbox S without losing any detail by not having the X
