I just do not understand why Microsoft is still focusing on making new XBox One consoles since all Xbox One games will be coming to Windows 10 eventually.

I wonder if a PC gaming computer can have specs that are more powerful than a XBox One X.

If I only owned an Xbox One I wouldn't be that disappointed honestly. They showed that third parties are still (obviously) backing the Xbox ecosystem.
The Xbox One X itself seems like a solid piece of hardware and in my opinion the price is pretty justified if you look at what it brings to the table, I expect multiplats to look noticeably better.

But when it comes to exclusives though,I hate to echo it but there wad not a very broad selection of console exclusive games. I guess the big hitters are not ready to be shown yet.

I don't think they gave anybody a reason to drop 499 on a xbox one x which was supposed to be the whole point of that conference. A few cool games shown off though.

Deleted the launch ex and the multiplats, is this the complete list of the true exclusives?

If that's the case, then Crackdown 3 and Cuphead - maybe - are the only things I'm interested in, and Crackdown 1 was just okay and 2 was horrible.

Oh boy.

Okay conference, although I'll probably never play any of the games that looked somewhat intriguing to me. I didn't tune in for Scorpio, so I didn't really pay attention to any hardware details.

I'm pretty sure most people in here that say the conference was great and Microsoft did good, don't really understand the term launch exclusive.

Man they could at least have shown some made up "7 years out" new ip cgi trailer like Sony does. Anything to look forward on the Scorpio.

Started with Forza, ended with multiplat pretty much sums it up. 2/10 in terms of selling anyone on the Scorpio.

Some initial observations.

The Bad:
1. Disappointed at Sea of Thieves. Feel like I've seen this before. I expected more from Rare.
2. Disappointed at lack of Halo news. Though I knew they wouldn't be there. They won't even provide X1X patches for their games (save for HW2).
3. Disappointed at the exclusive lineup from first party. Nothing new - at least that I find
significant. Seems they're (MS) content with the status quo.
4. X1X is being priced out of the competition. They're not interested in selling this to the masses, just the hardcore. I expect it'll lag in sales significantly to the X1S, PS4, and PS4Pro.
5. Terrible X1X launch date. Should've been at least 2 weeks earlier. It'll compete with the big AAA games of the year. It just goes to confirm that it's for a niche audience. MS is not looking to compete with it.
6. I guess Below has been cancelled - not even a trailer with a release date, unless I missed it.

The Good:
6. Excited about the sequel to Ori. Looks fantastic.
7. Excited about the original Xbox backwards compatibility.

The Ok:
8. Interesting that they didn't highlight "cloud" processing with Crackdown 3. I'm guessing it was rescaled/rebooted and put in the hands of Sumo Digital. It's something, I suppose.

I personally liked the show a lot. There was some stumbles, and I'm no more interested in an Xbox One X (which is a dumb name), but I liked a lot of the games they did show.

It was ok conference. Showed ton of games, which is always nice, but I didn't care about most of them.

Ori, Life is Strange, Last night were my highlights.

I thought this was a good conference, but it didn't doo a ton to sell me on the XBX.
Weird lack of 1st party games that really took advantage of the machine. The closest thing was Anthem, and that's a multiplatform game.

They're already more powerful.

Huge missed opportunity.
Their mission obviously was to showcase the capabalities of their world's most powerful new console.
You can't do that with1 hour full of indies, some of them were nice but those are not the kind of contents that will drive people to buy a console.
The feeling that they simply didn't have enough AAA games or really strong first party games to back up the hardware was clearly there.
The price is what I expected it to be last year, I'm definetly not shocked (although tons of fans were swearing it wouldn't cost more than 399$), but it's objectively very expensive and only the most dedicated Xbox fans will buy one at launch (those who were in line to buy the original XB1 in 2013).

I don't believe that Metro footage.

Not that they can't achieve the visuals - Anthem shows that - but that it was way too scripted and bespoke in effects, reactions and animations to really speak for gameplay.

Will keep an eye on it, but I expect a downgrade.

That was my problem with it opening, I didn't really believe it would look like that, especially with the way Phil spiced it up like an exclusive even though they've been multiplat so far. Clouded my impressions, though looking back on it without the conference in-the-moment hype their games do usually look good.

The goal of that conference was to sell me a XOX

they failed.

Anthem was the show-stopper, as a Destiny fan, I think the game needs competition but people keep coming for Destiny's crown are in for a rude awakening.

I play Destiny for the shooting.

And for all its flaws, the shooting is nothing short of amazing.

It was decent.

I'm just disappointed by the lack of new major IP more than anything else.

Agreed, I would give it a 7/10.

What the fuck happened to Crackdown 2 though? That trailer was not enough to show off the game.

It probably would of been better to cut out some of that 3rd part shit and show off more of their games.

Microsoft continues to show why they're out of touch with gamers. $499 is simply not acceptable in this day and age. The game selection's way too thin to justify gamers to invest in an overpriced console. It will do horribly in Europe and Asia, and will probably not do anything special in America.

Sony's been killing it because of Microsofts inability to read the market, and as things are going, they'll continue to be the industry leader.

Timed exclusive this, world premiere of third party game that, Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive, etc. Etc.

Microsoft has very little first & second party support right now and it really shows. They're going to have a hard time selling that new shiny system.

I'm so much disappointed.

I exceptected a tons of exclusives. I got Forza 7 (really?) and Ori 2.

And that 499€ price. Ok it worth it but nobody will buy that in front of a ultra popular PS4 Pro with tons of exclusives at 349/399.

Not a stab at MS, more to Monolith, but damn, was I really that blinded by the first Mordor or have they just barely done anything new for this one?

The price is too much, should have been 400.

Also, that "if you own these games, you'll get a free 4k update" as if that is some selling point. Like mofo, if I have those games and new xbox, and you make a patch to make it 4k, I better get it for free, wtf are you smoking

Could have been worse but I'm still wondering if they're really trying to sell their console cause it doesn't show like at all. LiS prequel announcement was the only thing that really grabbed my attention

It was good conference. Lots of games. Most of them don't need an Xbox to play them tho. They didn't really show any reason why Xbox One X is a must have or anything to get you excited about the future of Xbox in general. $499 is too much, UK price will be joke. Typical MS E3 of the last few years.

You can already go more than twice as powerful.

Or this is all they have to show.

Nah. I think they are being too cautious. If there is nothing to show that isn't caution, that is unrealistic madness.

Plenty gor me to play, but a strangely conservative conference. I do like how the vast majority of it was pretty much out within a year.

Also, are people.still spotting that loophole? That horse is dead, wayback.

My year-old GPU is twice as powerful as the BoneX GPU. And the CPU? Probably something like 5 to 10x as powerful.

He never said exclusives. What was said was console exclusivity .

I know. I still can't count 42 / 22. Aside from the ID@Xbox segment which I couldn't count, I only counted 23 titles total and 15 true exclusives / launch exclusives / console exclusives.

Man some of you are impossible to please. It was a bit of a drag in the beginning but afterwards it was game after game shown. A shit ton of games shown with a nice mix of exclusives, timed exclusives, and multiplatform. We wanted games and they showed games.

This was their best show of the generation so far IMO.

Anthem - Non-Exclusive
Metro - Non-Exclusive
Assassin's Creed: Non-Exclusive

I think the only exclusives that looked good were Ashen & Cuphead. Both will be available on PC. Console exclusives Crackdown and Sea of Thieves actually somehow looked worse than why they appeared 1-2 years ago.

Good conference for games, bad conference for selling an xbox.

Negativity aside, OG Xbox compatibility is great!
Ori 2 is going to be fantastic!
Ashen, Cuphead, and Last Night all look neat!
Their ONE X system is solid...and slim.
