I've still never beaten a single level in Dick Wilde. I didn't know about the shotgun+shield thing, though. I'll try that next time.

I wish there was more Skyrim VR footage from E3. I think all there's been is the trailer, 6 minutes of off-screen shootage, and a few minutes of Cam (formerly of Gamespot) playing the game. I just kinda want to see some more of it.

is there any other platforming game like the one in Playroom VR? that was amazing

Wayward Sky is a kind of pseudo-platformy/adventure game that gives you the same sense of looking into a "diorama" in the same way that the Playroom platformer did.

Also, if you haven't already watched it, that freebie VR movie, "Allumette." It gives you that same cool sense of 3D space in miniature, if that's what you're going for.

Not exactly a platforming game, but there are several third person adventure coming, Theseus and Moss being the most promising one.
Blows my mind that Theseus didn't get any stage time.

Did they just seriously release this without any promo after initial announcement?

Melvis is pretty good. It is fairly long too.

thanks, going to look them up

how are the freebie VR movies and 360 youtube videos on PSVR? is the picture quality decent? are there any 360 livestreams? i want one on the ISS, imagine looking around into empty space, down at earth, the astronauts doing their thing etc...

i'm getting my PSVR when i turn 35 in a couple weeks yay. i've worked hard all year, i deserve it even though i kinda can't afford it lol. but screw it, i've waited a quarter of a century for something like this.

really really excited to play all the horror stuff, especially RE7 and the upcoming The Inpatient. thinking of also getting Thumper and Rez Infinite, i love trippy games and i hope they are extra trippy in VR.

Most 360 videos are still very poor in quality, no matter which headset you are using. 360 camera is still not there yet, plus the lack of positional tracking. If it's built from the ground up as a VR experience, then usually it's good, like Joshua Bell VR experience, it looks like a filmed video but it's actually built using unity engine with positional tracking and awesome quality image. Example for space experience will be Apollo 11, Mars 2030. Now the trailer may look terrible, the VR experience will be very different, that's often applied to every VR game trailers.

Finally curved in and bought a PSVR Bundle. Thanks Sony for the awesome deals at your Days of Play.

I'm really looking forward to get my system deliverd this week. Do you have any recommendations what I should buy and try out?

Oh god, there's just too many games at this point. VR is a platform that you should just check out everything.
RE7, Farpoint, Statik, I Expect You To Die, Fruit Ninja, Dick Wilde, Mortal Blitz, Job Simulator, Wayward Sky, all the free stuff.

released stuff, of course don't forget about Arizona Sunshine, Super Hot coming soon.

Also make sure that you google or ask everything if you are facing any poor tracking/stupid issues because there's a lot of tricks and stuff to avoid for an optimal tracking.

Just catching up on some reveals, thanks to Sangetsu-II for keeping the OP up to date

Syren looks fucking hilarious. A 'direct tribute' to Alien Isolation, only replacing the iconic, dreadful xenomorph with ... naked chicks?

That's cynicism on a level I rarely wish to contemplate

In Farpoint, I hated the spike launcher and plasma rifle the first time I played through the campaign. In co-op, I learned to like them a lot.

Finally found some Monster Of The Deep Demo from E3

Crossbow shooting and catching, yep. I want it, looks stupidly fun.

You know, Matt, you really are the Aces. Thanks for tracking down all these PS.VR game info links.

Check out the upcoming "Moss" maybe?

Precisely why I want in on this, has a similar feel to that in some regards, only much more to it obviously.

wow didn't know Job Simulator needs a bigger play area than my room

My boy loves the demo, but the game isn't meant for someone of his height. He still keeps going back and trying his best though. Refusing to purchase it for him given we just cannot make it work well for him in the space we have.

I have problems man, I've been hunting down almost every hands on experience and digging every game announcement pretty much every hours.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
There wasn't even a freaking announcement from the developer twitter and website, hopefully the usual time for US store update, which will happen in around 29 hours.

Thanks :)

I had problems in even a pretty decent space, until I made a few adjustments.
- My camera is low, so I angled it up a bit (by propping up the front edge with something small) so it wouldn't lose tracking when reaching for something high in the game.
- Job Simulator allows you to adjust the floor height during calibration. This is very important. I don't remember if it lets you do this in the demo

thanks for the info!

The only thing to hold out for is better pricing. There's not going to be a revision - that's absolutely no need for one.

I honestly think we will see the PS5 before some kind of hadware revision.

Gotcha. I was probably gonna be selling some stuff to put money towards it. I've got a PS4 Pro so does that help anything?

Is it still usable without the motion controllers? Deciding between the $400 and $500 offerings.

Some games work far better with Moves, a number require them. If you can find a Farpoint Aim bundle, you should maybe prioritise that over anything else, even though there's only a couple of games that make use of it so far, there's plenty coming and the experience is exceptional.

You should definitely grab the motion controllers, almost any game that supports it is notably better with them. Also, if you have a Pro, the image clarity is much better on PSVR, really recommended to jump in. :)

Is the Farpoint bundle only sold out in the US and Canada, or is the Netherlands special in that regard? They seem to be in stock everywhere over here and the only reason I purchased a PSVR was because I could get a bundle with Farpoint, gun and camera for €388.

Anyway, trying to get my VR legs I'm now trying some easier to handle games like Dick Wilde and 3D movies. I really liked Alumette and would like to know if there's more of this (I already know about the rabbit and alien thingy) or if this is it?

Is Statik worth the $20 or should I wait for a sale?

They deserve your money, if you are short on budget just go ahead and wait, but it's a brilliantly crafted game with a little local co-op action in it.

Stick to the static stuff for at least a week, going straight into Farpoint or RE7 will destroy you. As for experience videos, there are a lot of them in other regions, you can also try demos and free stuff. There's a super short RE Vendetta, Godzilla and other tid bits of content in Japan region.

You've been very helpful in this OT and I appreciate it. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, too :)

Yup I've just been using MattAces posts for updates rather than looking myself. Usually has most thing covered.

Glad to hear that, I used to update in PSVR subreddit, but that place went to shit and now it's filled with port begging, discussing random games or just posting some random news with no sources. So I've decided to move into this lovely community.
