To be fair Arms has no baggage attached to it and Nintendo is known for making accessible games.

Tekken on the other hand is considered pretty hardcore and hard.
Bro just mash buttons
Ive been lugging my lappy with me for the night shift and weve been playing tekken 7 and having a blast

1st party Nintendo games also have a stupid high attach rate since that's basically main reason you'd buy a Nintendo console.

this is actually not true for the market these numbers are from. Nintendo games bomb all the time in Japan, lol. new competitive IPs have, however, done extremely well for them lately. first Splatoon, now Arms.

yo Shaowebb, the new Tatsunoko Infiniti-force (Gatchaman/Tekkaman/Pollimar/Casshern) manga is getting localized.

Udon is doing the localization but i don't think they had any other involvement in making the original.

Sweet. Polymar awaits!
I hope someday he returns to fighting games.
Just use the Infini-T Force 3d models! This shit looks super hype. Imagine a fighting game using this shit! Tatsunoko is so fucking hype.

Expected Tekken numbers to be much much higher but it seems like even a console release didn't help its cause.

again, it was the only game to gain entry numbers year over year when everything else dropped ~30-50%. that alone is an impressive feat. in a generally down year for evo and bigger events, getting a numbers increase is great.

This is so stupid when the game isn't even out yet.

DF does another test on release versions. It never hurt to know those stuff early, especially with companies like Capcom where it took them months post release to fix SFV frame drops on some stages even though people were complaining about them since the beta.

Wonder what the reception to DBFZ would have been like if Infinite had been MVC4 instead

Frankly I would've expected DBZ to play differently had MVCI not been such a departure from its predecessor. Hard to know how long the two games have been in development and how much of their direction had been solidified long ago, but I suspect that at least part of the reason why DBZ plays the way it does is because there's a niche to fill there.

But even then, in a world where MVCI doesn't exist and DBZ isn't a tag fighter, the look of that game alone would have still turned a lot of casual E3 heads.

nah i'm happy with how it is now. i enjoy capcom fanboys having to say the line "it doesn't look great but it plays so well" and watching them choke on it.

NOPE.
Its a 3v3 game with anime guys.
I want this in the DBZ OT:

"Its a 3v3 game with anime guys." -MiniBossBattle

Hehe, I've watched almost 40 episodes of DBZ in the last week. But I was cool with anime before.
Is your kid watching it with you? How does he/she like it, if so? I tried to get my son to watch a little DBZ and he didn't care about it. But then I played through the MvCi demo and he loved it and wanted more. He loves dinosaurs right now, so I imagine I'll be playing some Riptor when I get KI on Steam.

It really isn't. Remember when people complained about stuff during SF5's betas and a lot of folks went "oh it's just a beta"
Hey, I was one of those people complaining, so I get it. I just know that optimization is often one of the last things done with a game before it releases, so I'm skeptical that this is meaningful info right now.

And now it's a year and a half later and people still don't know what the direction is for Season 2
"Zoners? No thank you."
