Didn't they say how many episodes this arc will be before it started? How is that looking? I think it was 40-42 episodes or somewhere around there.

Now that you mention it, I remember them putting "subtitles" in OG DB when Piccolo was speaking whatever his language was lol.
I know in the English dub Frieza hilariously speaks it to Goku but I don't know if that's in the manga or not

Why would they speak an earth tounge do namekians speak jap no they speak namekian it's easy to assume his race has its own language. ......Then again everyone in the multiverse CAN speaks Japanese so....ehhh

Lol I don't think that was ever in the Japanese version.
That's because it's random crap made up in the old dub like a lot of the other dumb lines people quote.

1. Yes, I saw Gohan return to training. It was a 5 second off hand comment and was never mentioned again. Was it supposed to mean something? Hasn't really done anything with Black so far.......
2. Yeah, wasn't "gory". But for example....
a. Krillian exploding from the inside
b. Krillian being pierced by Freeze horn
c. Freeza being sliced in half, then sliced multiple times
d. Goku dies first time. Huge hole in chest
e. Videl getting the absolute shit beat out of her
f. Freeze being sliced in half by his own attack
g. Android 15(?) literally ramming his arm through Yamcha
h. Android 18(?) breaking Vegetas arm
This is just stuff from the top of my head. This stuff I feel like, after watching 50 some odd episodes, would NEVER happen on Super. Also, I feel for some reason, the fighting has no power behind it. I can't explain it. The first time I actually said to my self "damn, that was cool" was when Trunks fought Black in that forest and used the Galick gun.
3. They do die on screen?
a. When Black and Goku switched bodies, Goku was killed off screen.
b. When Zamasu (?) killed his master for the first time, it happen off screen. Just his hand coming down, then the next shot, guy dead.
The only kill so far I've seen is when Zamasu died for the first time by Beerus. He just kinda gets teleported. Not really an impactful kill to be honest.
Dunno, the show doesn't have that same kind of rawness to it that z had. It feels like a Nickelodeon show in the end, probably because of that censorship shit.

I just really hope he comes back in a big way. At the end of the day, this is an anime. I'm sure his fictional cartoon family will be ok if he goes and trains.

1. No? It was mentioned at the end of the F arc and then shortly after we see him training.
2. There are tons of things in Super just like these. Goku gets stabbed through the chest by Beerus, Tagoma gets holes blown through his limbs, Gohan gets riddled with holes by Freeza, Piccolo gets a hole blown through his chest twice, Future Bulma gets eviscerated, Vegeta gets stabbed in the chest, Goku gets stabbed through the torso and then Trunks does too and then there is more, but beyond that we just had an episode with more torture, head explosions and images of someone having a hand pierce through them like Yamcha and getting choked to death.
Off the top of my head as far as you are right now Ginyu, Freeza, Future Bulma and present Zamasu all die on screen and there are more deaths after where you are. That's not even including the dino aliens you see beat each other to death with clubs.
The violence is still there, it's just not bloody. This show wouldn't fly on Nickelodeon without lots of censorship on top of the blood it already lacks.
And? They wanted to write a character who cares about his family above all else.

Remember the tweet from Yamcha's VA a few weeks ago saying he has been recording a lot of Yamcha dialogue but couldn't give details? Have we discussed the possibility that that was in reference to DBFZ and not DBS? Is this the wrong thread to ask this question in? I could take it over the DBFZ roster thread on the gaming side
What if it's for the Toriyama-penned Dragonball Super movie that immediately follows the Universe Survival arc in canon? The one that they've been working on all this time but haven't announced yet.

That is another possibility but I'm not sure why Yamcha would have many lines in a movie where time for supporting characters is a lot less available compared to Super. Especially since Yamcha was barely in BoG. Haven't seen RoF but I know he was left out of the fighting party so I'm assuming he was barely in it

What if it's for all four of these projects? And that's why Yamcha-sama's VA was so tired?
What if, going forward, Yamcha's voice actor will voice every single character, including the ones that already have voices? Kind of like that one dub. Hungarian or something.

It could be for some "meanwhile on Earth" episodes. They set up at least some stuff with Goten, Trunks and the poachers, so I wouldn't be surprised by some cuts to unrelated events in the middle of the tournament.
Still hoping for a Yamcha/Chiaotzu team-up. And maybe for Toriyama to catch up to Steven Universe & add Marron to the Gotenks fusion.

Yamcha will probably just be involved in B plot stuff on Earth during the tournament.
Oh, yeah this seems plausible.
Just noticed they're actually classic clothes SSB Goku and Vegeta to Xenoverse 2, plus kid Trunks' current outfit (or the one he wore in the Black arc, whatever). There's a battle damaged version of Goku too.

Oh nice, we're getting TWO new Future Trunks variations, one with Slash of Hope and one with the turtleneck.
I know some people are really happy about Saiyan tails.
Now all I need is for them to surprise me with Trunks actually getting Ikari.
EDIT: They also remodeled Kid Trunks's hair in that Super costume, that's a nice touch.
