What do people do on their vacations?

I am currently on my vacation.

I know the norm is to say to go somewhere but I didn't plan that out. I know I could be spontaneous and go somewhere but I have places i'm going today, and the weekend.

So i'm here doing something I don't normally do and that's eating 3 meals a day. I usually eat 1 maybe 2 a day.

I ran out of Xbox live gold, and PS plus so I can't play online right now. (I don't play PC games besides Diablo 3). I'm currently playing Persona 5

I should visit a museum or something but.....idk

I don't want to visit zoos or aquariums because I work at a zoo and basically everybody that's in the zoo keeping industry in this area knows everybody so I can get free entry because I know people.

I know i'm lame but i'm here not to think about work.

So what do you guys do on your own vacations and or planning on doing. I can piggyback off of ideas

If you plan to stay in the city, then maybe go sit and drink at a bar in the early afternoon. I've always wanted to do that.

I sit at home and chill. Occasionally I go out with friends.

Edit: why can't you renew Xbox live or ps plus?

I lay around the house all day getting stoned and watching TV. To me traveling is just as much work and just a stressful as being at work.

You did a staycation?

I always go away, so new locales keep me busy.

I'm an American so not much time off, so I travel when possible.

My Vacation time for a year goes like this.

If their is a family vacation this year, some vacation time goes towards that.

Depending on how hyped I am for E3, I may take a day or two off for that.

I go to Fan Expo Canada and Ottawa Comicon, so I use some vacation for those as well.

The rest of my vacation gets dumped at the end of the year where I usually take half od December off. That time is spend mainly relaxing at home.

Basically, if there are no preset plans, I spend my vacation relaxing at home reading/playing video games.

I do the same I always do (Gaf, videogames, the occasional hang out with friends) only now without any remorses. Pretty great!

because i'm a cheap ass even though i have the money I just don't want to put it towards it for some reason at the moment. it's funny that i just play online randomly and realize i have to pay for it most of the time.

Masturbate

People here and can't turn the volume all the day way up

Wake up late, go out in the afternoon, eat well since I have the time, and do games and Internet at night.

Never had the money to actually go somewhere

For my family it's a week in Cape Cod in July. We hang out at the hotel, go to the beach, go out to eat, play mini golf. Last vacation was a week in disney.

Although I plan on taking a week off in December when I don't plan on doing a thing.

Yup, that's mine. I don't do holidays, i try and meet friends and family a couple of times over the week, sometimes i'll head out for a long walk through park near mine, rest is just chilling, catching up on games, tv etc

My fantasy is that my girlfriend was actually a young high school girl.
If I dont go overseas, I try to ride my bicycle every day at a park i love, then i watch the sunset and listen to music on my headphones.

Recently I've discovered that I can catch long distance trains to some nice town, walk around a bit and train back. I love riding the train long distance while listening to music and looking out the window. I do this both overseas and at home.

I love how the most basic things in life often baffle gaffers. It always makes me smile. Go out and do things you enjoy, or just chill around the house and play games. The point of a vacation is to do things you enjoy and not have to worry about work.

I plan on doing a bunch of traveling and stuff after I buy a house next year hopefully or maybe this year who knows.

What I do on vacation

Wake up late, jerk off, eat breakfast, laze around the apartment, watch anime, jerk off, sleep, get on GAF, jerk off again, play video games, jerk off, eat, sleep some more, play video games, eat, watch anime, jerk off some more, fall asleep at some ungodly hour.

Repeat the next day. Maybe throw a book in there somewhere and a walk in the park.

Hope that helps. I rarely have enough money to really go anywhere interesting so my vacations are about being a lazy as I possibly can be before heading back to work.

Usually i travel but i know thats not always possible.

When im home for vacation i usually:

1, spend a few days going to areas in the metro i usually dont get to/never been, try a new restaurant.
2, seeing if there are any events on like museum exibitions or gigs.
3, do a project, for example i painted a wh40k army in one week of my vacation a few years ago.
4, if you own your home do some maintenace.
5, get stuckbinto your backlog
6, add day drinking to any of the above.

It's hard for me because it feels like my life is scheduled from A to B to C.

If I don't do something I feel like I wasted my day/time

I need to get out of that mindset but it's hard

Sit around naked, reading manga online and eating TV dinner burritos.

That's where you make a TV dinner, then put the contents into a tortilla and roll it up.

Also sleep.

Wake up late
Drink
Eat
Beach
Eat
Drink
Eat
Drink
Sleep
Repeat

This is what I would do.

But the drink at a bar earlier in the day is also a decent idea.

Museums, watch some movies or old movies if you have any theaters that show older movies, eat some new food or order foods you don't normally order, biking, hiking, etc.

When I'm on vacation, I usually just sit at home and play video games. Eventually I'll do some productive things that I usually don't want to do during the work week (cleaning, laundry, etc). I also go and visit people if possible (I mean usually they're working tho)

But mainly, just chill and play games.

Vacations where you go out of town are fun, but they're also expensive and can be stressful :p

This is what you do on vacation: take a long trip to somewhere you don't want to go, with people you don't want to be around.

Go check out things around the city, it you're near one. Walk around a bit, find something new, have an adventure. See a movie or play or live show.

Play some games you want to catch up on, but not for too long.

Yes, you should go to a museum.

Can you not just go back to work and take your vacation days at a later point when you're actually going to do something useful with them? Instead of wasting them on Gaf and drinking by yourself. That just sounds so sad.

I stopped using vacation days for mulling around years ago - that's what sick days are for.

When I book time off work it's always for things that I have planned, like trips and going abroad.

If you have a hobby you can try to get better/really spend time on it. Or try to learn a new skill by practicing each day.

Just do whatever you feel like doing. It's YOUR vacation. There's no wrong way to do it. We are always so busy that I would love a week to just sleep in and relax at home. It would be amazing lol. That will not be happening anytime soon unfortunately. Anyway, just do what you want and enjoy it :)
