Android |OT8| ConFuchsia say beta is better

removable battery

I always laugh when people in comments still say they refuse to buy a phone that doesn't have this

That use to be me until there weren't any good phones left that had removable batteries.

If I'm honest I upgrade often enough that I shouldn't have to ever worry much about battery degradation (and I do own a big external battery pack now for emergencies), but it's just nice for my own peace of mind if I know I can easily pop a fresh battery in if I ever need to.

Why didn't/aren't you use the magnetic charging port? Since the Z3+/4, they don't have covers for the USB ports anymore.

What software change/additions?
I have a dock and used that exclusively for at least a year after a friend's Z1 Compact had the same problem. It's mostly using my portable charger that has made me need to use USB. I suppose I could have bought a simple magnetic charger and used that with the charger, but I didn't think of that.

I don't like Sony's Contacts and Calendar apps, so I had to find apks for Google's ones and hide the Sony ones in Nova. There's also rubbish like What's New, Lifelog, Lounge, PlayStation Video, a poor message app, a not very good music app, and some camera filter things that are all wasted space to me. Especially in a 16GB phone. Also, in recent versions of the OS they've nerfed the stamina mode that used to exist and do me very well. I'm quite fussy about this stuff, which is why I was a big fan of my Nexus 4. If the digitiser in the navigation bar area hadn't died I'd still be using it today. That's why even with them not covering the ports now that the world has moved past early water resistance, I'm not really interested in going Sony again.

Where you also a sucker like me that ordered early?

Such a dumb mistake lol. Ordering early = shipping early? Says who?

Yep! I think I ordered about 20-30 minutes after the announcement, but it does look like people who ordered much later than that are already receiving their orders. Great job, OnePlus!

I ordered before anyone posted the code before their show was over and mine is still processing. This reminds me of Samsung shipping.

Ordered the OP5 with the welcome bundle right after the code appeared on the screen. Still processing when it should have been dispatched yesterday...
Apparently they got more orders in than they planned. What the hell? Why do you even accept more orders than you got in your stock for the pre-sale? Bunch of fuckers.
Going to Japan in less than two weeks and I doubt I can take this phone with me...

it will be interesting if samsung's battery tech capacity tech ends up being legit: http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...ill-degrade-less-quickly-than-the-galaxy-s7s/

Signed up. Same as you. Label created. ETA Monday.

This happens every launch of OP they ship the phones out but don't update the order on the site or email you it's been shipped. I found out mine has been shipped by DHL texting me.

I remember getting a OPO (Man I loved that box) I got the phone and a day later OP sent me an email saying it was despatched lol

Well, it shouldn't..... What it can do, though, is retain more apps in memory.

Max background apps is still the same at 32 so not really lol. Should be better at holding more big games.

I mean once you root and play around you can definitely do some crazy stuff.
OnePlus finally marked my orders shipped on the site, but FedEx is still reporting just the label creation Wednesday night.

Maybe they are using different speed memory in the phone. Wouldn't be surprised.

Yep mine status was updates. Says tomorrow delivery lol. I kinda trust fed ex site more but that's just me!

Dumb question (pretty new to Android): there were news stories a couple weeks back about Chrome v59 being released and that it had good speed and memory optimizations. However, the update still hasn't shown up for me on either my Moto Z Play or a burner Blu Life Max. Both have Chrome v58 installed. Has v59 not been released yet?

PS video is no more, you can disable those other apps now other than what's new, contacts and messaging obviously. And base models are 32gb now so space shouldn't be an issue now. Stamina mode got overrided by doze. Not sure what's bad about the messaging app or the music app.

Other OEMs has a lot of apps preinstalled too.

Yeah. Mine shows estimated delivery of 6/26. It hasn't even been picked up by FedEx yet. It's going to suck if they don't deliver until Monday. That's going to hurt my resale ability. Probably gonna just end up returning it.

if grandmasters can't beat google ai at GO, no chance for us to understand their grand plan.

Why even bother trying to comprehend.

op5 status updated to 'picked up'. At least monday seems a given. Not too bad of a 'delay'.

Just sucks they don't do Saturday delivery, so you have to wait the entire weekend.

So I discovered the Evie launcher today, pretty slick. A little more limited than Nova but you get a pretty robust search feature in replacement. (though not quite as integrated as iOS spotlight, naturally) Not bad, I'll probably stick with it for a while. Just wish I could have swipe down for notifications, though.

removing that features probably affects our behavior pattern (need to recharge phones more), which somehow improves our work and consumption efficiency by x %.

Playing around with the brand new Note 5 and this flies once I updated to Nougat. Such a huge upgrade from 5.0 it came with. 2015 phone with 1440p screen.

think 2014 was when 1440p was becoming legit with note 4... nexus 6?

$600 2014 phone with 1440p screen.

We are like half a year before oneplus hits $600 lol, no excuses now.

It didn't hit 600 because the DxO score was too low to be paid for.

I may have to jump to a Galaxy S8 Active. I keep having close calls with the S8+ at work, and no tempered glass with the Otterbox Defender sucks.

I can't believe they used the same damn screen from the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Unacceptable.

dx0 consulting was so expensive that they couldn't even finish their software processing end. also ran out of money so went to papa oppo and borrowed their phone shell lol

DXO was so expensive they could only put out a press release saying they worked with them and couldn't even mention them at the launch event. No eis in 4k recording has to be a bug. 4k video recording is pretty much unusable. Its a shame because in 1080p the eis does a better job than the s8s stabilization.

It really feels like they half assed it with this phone. It's not a flop like the OnePlus 2 because of the horrible 810 processor and no nfc, but some of their decisions are a little mind boggling.

It's from a massive sample size of two, but I'm hearing some stuff about the OP5 having a bit of touch latency :/
Nothing huge it seems, but more than other high end phones.

Usually rolls out in stages.

I wouldn't worry about it. It'll come soon enough.

The Honor 9 feels disappointing compared to the Honor 8.

It just feels like a repackaged Mate 9 which was essentially a late 2016 phone.

EIS on 4K is almost certainly a hardware limitation and not a bug.
