"Annoying" things you enjoy?

Fort/hideout/building takeovers. Ala Watchdogs 1, the Godfather type stuff. Just love picking off enemies one by one, especially at low levels to make it harder.

Playing as a demigod Alucard for 5 minutes, at the beginning of SotN, only to have all of his badass self-named kit ganked by Grim.

Also, having to accomplish a ridiculously hard task in order to get something actually worth while.

The beginning quests in MMOs. "Go slay four bumble bees."

But I get ten quested at once and come back from them eight levels higher.

Most of Kamiya's minigames. Imo, they add welcome variety to his games. The only one that sticks out to me as annoying is the digging minigame in Okami, and only because its on a timer.

Inventory Tetris and to lesser extent, inventory management in general. The latter is way more dependant on UI and the general feel of the menuing. I'm not an organized person in real life but not is not only is it very satisfying to have a neatly organized inventory but the process of getting everything in order is pleasing in of itself.

•Grinding- As long as it is rewarded.
•Complex Systems (XBCX, FFVIII)- Sometimes a game is better when it strays from the norm, as long as it can be mastered.
•"You must construct additional Pylons".
•Not being able to see from the chaos (Nier:Automata, Nex Machina)- sometimes you just have to trust your instincts.

Sonic's friends.

Agreed, except for Shadow and to a lesser extent Silver.

I hate Shadow. Knuckles is a good rival for sonic with his emphasis on power contrasting with Sonic's speed. Shadow is an exact copy for Sonic and his powers. Which makes his origin being someone trying to create the "Ultimate Life Form" using alien DNA 50 years before Sonic Adventure 2 insane. All that to make the exact copy of Sonic the Hedgehog who is just born later?

Silver is better with his unique powers and if he comes from Blaze's place.

Wish Blaze, Cream and Big showed up more in general. Same goes for Team Chaotix and the Babylon Rogues. Would enjoy a Sonic Heroes 2 that included them as teams.

In fact I would love a new Sonic fighting/racing/party game that includes a lot of these guys. Closet has been the last Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games game.

I don't have, and never really had, any aversion to QTE's. In fact I rather enjoy their implementation more often then not.

More specifically, Dragons Dogma pawn chatter. While initially annoying, it became kind of endearing and amusing over time

I preferred some of the user-unfriendly stuff in the original Animal Crossing, like having to ship fossils out to get them appraised. It made the world feel more lived in and made it worth it to keep coming back every day.

i rather enjoy the wierd ass pacing of half life 2. something about it makes the whole experience feel more real and genuine

I love teleporter dungeons in JRPGs. Eradinus in SMT Strange Journey is one of my favorite dungeons. I think they're kind of relaxing in a weird way.

The combat of The Witcher 3. I like that you have to commit to your strikes. I like the "feel" of the hits and attacks. I like the dodge heavy evasion instead of blocking/parrying. I liked the controls too.

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.
Crafting and inventory management.

Slow handholdy starts to games that last at least a couple hours.

Having to redo a lot of lost progress after a game over in a platformer or action game.

Random encounters.

The clunky controls of the Tails/Eggman levels in Sonic Adventure 2.

Grinding in turn-based RPGs.

Grinding.

Put on a podcast, a show or some music and it can be a fun and chill way to kill an afternoon.

I also don't mind icon chasing in open-world games.
