England here, bought a big box of hundreds of old coins for £35 from a junk store. The box was wooden and at the back of a stack of junk. I asked about something in that stack (I was eBay selling at the time) and the guy dug it out revealing this box he forgot was even there.
He didnt look much through the box and let me have it for a great price considering there were a few bits of silver, mostly copper young Victoria coins, Edwardian
a few very tarnished probably 16th century and a clipped silver medieval groat.
But the best thing in that box was this: (not my photo)
Three fingers tall and wide, a huge beast of a coin made of silver. 30 TARI from Malta 1756 worth between 400-500£ In fantastic condition.
It was a good day.
