Okay so this is a real thing... I saw the prepurchase on the Android store yesterday and wasn't sure if this was legit or some random company trying to get away with using FFXV.

I finally figure out how to enter the proving grounds and the action game begins. Noctis goes flying towards the flan and hits it with his sword. Once.

Aaaaaaand this is why mobile gaming does not appeal to me. Every time I'm like "that looks cool" I realize how these games make money and I instantly remember to delete it.

Yes, Game of War type games are generally considered the worst of mobile gaming.

Always had the dream of making a mobile rpg where you had to pay for extra turns and using magic/items. Got beaten like a fool on this one. Curse you, SE

A F2P game where the devs slightly give a shit about continuity usually has some sort of half-assed reason embedded in the game's narrative explaining why you can't perform timed actions more than once. This I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around:

"Good hit Noct. He's almost down. Take the final blow!"

"I can't. I'm too tired. I think I need 28:37.04 UNTIL NEXT FREE SWING"

Played it long enough to see it's the same mobile strategy game as everything else, wait for ressources, build, wait x mins/hours/days for construction to complete.
Train units, attack monsters on the map, marching for x mins for each moves.

If you plan to play for a long time, get destroyed by whales who spend $1k minimum, lose tons of ressources and you can't do anything to fight back. Thus you hit a wall and can't progress anymore.
Speaking from my own experience there :s

I just saw the ad for this playing Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire.

They used the exact same announcer script as the one for Mobile Strike, word for word. I had no idea it was coming out, so I was super confused until I saw the logo at the end. It's really, really one of those games.

Don't condemn mobile gaming as a whole because of F2P idiocy like that. Just ignore the F2P trash like this and focus on games that are one-time purchases. The best stuff & legitimately good games can be found there, not among even the least horrible of these F2P cash grabs.

Just saw an ad for this in another game. It was the standard tower defense interactive ad that wasn't at all the actual game that I abhor.

I saw an ad for this while playing another mobile clicker and started to laugh at the sheer gall of a mobile game developer making a cheap FFXV x Game of War ripoff but then the title popped up and I was like "..oh".
