that is pretty awesome actually.
Thanks, I just don't think I could actually willingly have a child, despite knowing that there are already young kids/teens who could actually use a home and a loving family, it almost seems selfish, at least for me I think it would be.

Dude you are awesome for thinking like that :)

Had my first kid in July, and yeah, sometimes I'm stressed out because of him, but seeing him smile almost instantly when he sees me makes it all worth it.

He's an amazing part of my life.

been married 7-1/2 years and no kids :) I'm hoping to not have any kids. Wife wants 1 eventually but I don't think we will. 2 dogs is enough for me!

While I adore my nieces and nephews, I think I'll be content with dogs...and if I feel frisky maybe adopting. However, while I'm pro-choice, if my GF were to tell me she's pregnant, there's no way I'd want that for us. Even if she didn't want the child, I'd try to convince her to have it. I'd rather be a single father than end a potential child of mine.

i honestly don't really want kids. i kinda love my life right now and bringing a kid into this world would only fuck it up. my nephews are good enough.

I've done nothing with my life except eat and fap
Old.

Also I don't see much meaning in it for me, but I appreciate people loving kids. I don't want to put my efforts in a person who might grow up from innocent child into some kind of usual asshole. Also time and money. People who want to have kids are usually people with positive childhood family experiences.

At this point, no.

If you would've asked me 5 years ago, my answer would have been different.

If you ask me 5 years from now, my answer may also be different.

ofcourse it is. But it's also a natural urge i guess. Like all animals.

Got two boys, picked them both up on launch day. First was a good deal but the second was pretty expensive. Currently in the market for a third. Wife wants a female model but I prefer a uniform look.

I hope to found a family, and sooner rather than later (ideally would be during the 25-30 range).

2-3 kids for me. It's not an obligation, and I need to find the right woman first, but it's definitely something I hope to live.

If you're a principled utilitarian, you should really considered adopting instead of having children of your own.

Also, something about those happiness studies seems a little fishy to me. Self-selection bias makes it very hard to pinpoint causation in these cases. Are children really causing couples to be less happy? Or is the observed difference in happiness explained by the fact that adults who choose not to have children make up a special group of adults with certain characteristics that make them relatively happier? Unless these studies use panel data (tracking each individual's self-reported happiness over time), there will always be this issue with interpreting the results.
