Doctor Who Series 10 |OT| He's Back, and It's About Time

Finallly caught up. Season was pretty decent. Loved Smith coming back and the interactions between him and Missy. Kinda miffed they killed off Missy just like that, but whatever. They'll be back eventually. I think my favorite part was The Doctor continually resisting the regeneration. Since 9, we've seen that he doesn't quite want to regenerate, but that's mostly because of his friends and the people he loved. Now, he's just tired of starting over. It's bittersweet.

Speaking of bittersweet, Nardole living out the rest of his days on that ship is pretty damn sad.

Wait, why was The Doctor regenerating in the first place? I mean before this episode.

The final scene of the Christmas special has every Doctor saying "congratulations" while clapping Twelve who smiles and finally accepts regeneration.

What did you watch exactly? I think this "kids show feel" was certainly more true during the 9th-10th Doctor era, but Steven Moffat, particularly with the 12th Doctor, steered the show in a thematically more mature direction and this thematic clash IMO is what contributes to the debate between which era of the modern show is better based on what you're expecting to get out of the show.
Some of the monster stuff with the witches and stuff. All of it felt on the simple side like a are you afraid of the dark or goosebumps. Going into it is never knew it had any of those this of things and honestly I'm still not sure what it's about. I assumed the older parts may be more my stele. But after watching clips of it I wasn't sure id be interested. I just wasn't sure why so many Americans suddenly liked it when I never saw it or heared of it until recently

Funny, I was just reading an interview from around the 50th yesterday where he said he'd never do another multi-Doctor story again.

I like the title fine, and like Bobby said, I think it'll be especially apropos if we end up revisiting the end of DOTD. And afterward, I think I'm going to use the gap between Christmas and S11 to finally do something I've been threatening to do for years and delve into some classic Who. 55th anniversary year seems like a fine time to finally do that.

If they are trying it into DotD I guess it could also be when the first doctor gets those galifrey calculations the doc needed to crunch for a few 100 years.

"And later this evening on BBC One after Doctors, it's Doctor Who with The Doctors"
60 minutes of The Doctor arguing with The Doctor whether if he should regenerate or not.

- I don't want to regenerate.
- You must. You have to or you will die.
* Opening theme and title card *
- NO!
- Yes.
- NO!
- Yes.
- NO!
- Yes.
- NO!
- Yes.
- NO!
- Yes.
* 55 minutes later *
- Okay, fine. I'll do it.
- Everything will be alright. You'll see it soon.
* regeneration occurring *
- Oh no no no no no, what is going on? This doesn't feel right at all!
* New Doctor *
- YES! I'm the Doctor! I was born for this!
* Credits rolling really fast *

Anyone want to have a stab if/what body part the Doctor will reference when he does regenerte?

Just thinking about it this morning and Ten referenced his teeth, Smith referenced a tonne of body parts, Capaldi didn't know the colour of his kidneys....

If it's a female doctor and she grabs her boobs, I will die.

What?! What episode is this?

Well, it's more that the it's pretty much set in stone to name specific doctors in terms of their order in the sequence, and inserting extras into the gaps makes life difficult for everyone. He's absolutely the 9th Doctor, but he's not The Ninth Doctor, if you see what I mean.

So put it this way:

The 8th Doctor: The Eighth Doctor (McGann)
The 9th Doctor: The War Doctor (Hurt)
The 10th Doctor: The Ninth Doctor (Eccleston)
The 11th Doctor: The Tenth Doctor (Tennant)
The 12th Doctor: The Other Tenth Doctor (Tennant)
The 13th Doctor: The Eleventh Doctor (Smith)
The 14th Doctor (first of a new cycle): The Twelfth Doctor (Capaldi)

I'm pretty sure 11 explained that Hurt didn't carry the name "Doctor" of what he did.

Having re-watched it this morning, they do.

Generally speaking it's easier for him to be "War" than to re-number all the later Doctors though.

Yeah, though really they should just outright call the next Doctor "The fifteenth Doctor" in official material. Microsoft did it with Windows, so it's fine :p

If it's a female doctor and she grabs her boobs...
Followed by 7 minutes straight of uninterrupted childish giggling and then credits.

Realistically I image the most that would happen would be her briefly looking down, then looking back up with eyes real wide for a moment. Keep it classy.

The Amazon exclusive Series 1 and The Power of the Daleks Steelbooks are part of that Prime Day thing at 5:45pm... tomorrow I guess?

I just bought Power of the Daleks D:

Been alive for 2000 years, has had more weird and probably out-of-body experiences than any of us by a huge margin, still acts like a 13 year old boy in a woman's body?

Don't see it.
