COMICS!!! |OT| July 2017 | Princess, I've Seen the Way You Look At Me.

What's the deal with the Earth One books? Just another universe or something? A different interpretation of the classic characters?

It was originally created to get casual DC fans to read comics without needing to know any history. Overtime though it just became a different universe to tell a familiar but different take on classic characters.

Earth One was always a separate universe for telling non-canon stories by 'star' creators who didn't want to do monthly work. Thing about those stars is they work really slowly.

If there can be two Spidey-mens, actually way more than 2, then they can keep 2 Thors around.

It's less keeping two Thors around and more that Aaron has been writing towards having to deal with the cancer thing for a while now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they swerve and save her at the end of the arc, but this all fits within his larger tale.

It would be more interesting if they did these for less popular characters. Like Captain Marvel or Zatanna or Plastic Man. But it seems every creator wants at least one chance to do their own take of the Waynes in the alley.

I don't doubt she might 'die' but what I mean is that she will be back at some point.

[edit]

Like, I can't imagine they get rid of her and keep War Thor around.

Finally, a update on Ikemen Nightwing, with a tease of his sculpt.

The Earth One book I am really looking forward to is Manapul's Aquaman. If nothing else it'll be visually stunning.

Infuriating. And, unfortunately, I bet Image is only marginally better. Because Image is mostly people who have made a name for themselves and they don't give people of colour and/or women the opportunity to do that.

I keep saying I'll pick up the Earth One books and never do.

DEATH OF THE MIGHTY THOR Part 1
The final judgement comes as the Mangog arrives! The War Thor will meet the beast head on. But even the bloodthirst of this Ultimate Thor may pale in comparison to the might of the Mangog! The battle rages as Jane’s cancer takes a turn for the worse, and she might not have to wait for the final judgment at all. The clock is ticking, and no hammer can save her this time. It’s the beginning of the end that will lead to the most dramatic return in the Marvel Universe!
Well here's another return.

Wait I thought Otto was a Spidey again?

Didnt he get in the Peter clone that was meant for Jackal?

btw, was just randomly thinking of Jason Aaron (well not so randomly since it's because of Thor), what non-comic thing was he writing that we were excited about? Was it a videogame, a tv show? I cant remember for the life of me.

Pumped to read The Casting now that I'm home!

Also really want to buy Spider-Men II #1, since I LOVED Spider-Men, and it's awesomely the same creative team, but I will probably wait for the trade.

If Taskmaster dodges the venom shock from Miles and punks him for it I will literally give Bendis a pass on everything stupid he ever writes in the future.

I would like character disabilities to have more attention. Like the fact that Hawkguy is deaf or that Taskmaster can't remember things.
