is there a code begging thread? i desperately want a ps4 code

reserve at Amazon, receive code, cancel reserve.

Guess what happened when the full game came out and people found out the beta was 25% of the full patrol areas?

Yeah Fusion rifles are monstrous.

Still fun, but not sold, they need to show more, I have this feeling in my gut they're going to do a bait and switch again.

Old and busted: Destiny beta showed too much.

New hotness: Destiny beta didn't show enough.
I'm cool with it if they are actually putting that focus on story, with all the cutscenes and stuff I see no reason not to believe.

They're clearly putting their best foot forward with this mission and I hope it's indicative of the campaign as a whole (rather than "now that that's out of the way, here's some Destiny 1 style missions")

i disagree. the post content especeally pvp was easily 100 hours + for many people (8+ maps, different modes)
there were 9 or so strikes, a story line, multiple unique exotics etc.

I think people put too much weight on concept vs contet as D1 beta showed us the general concept, but 1 of 4 planet didn´t equal 25% in this game.
I'm not someone who complained about content in the first game, I didn't even finish the story until the DLCs started coming out for new loot lol. I just bought it for multiplayer

Regardless, the beta was a sizable part of the game and I think that hurt the perception of it

Have they fixed the issue where PS4 PRO users would crash mid tutorial? I've been replaying ever since and keeps crashing over the part of Zavala, and there seems to be no fix. I really wanna try out the Strike, and Crucible but ughhhhh.

I think the concern here is that the Destiny 1 beta showed too much of the game that didn't have a lot of content. So now people are concerned that the lesson Bungie learned from that was not to make a game with more content, but instead make the beta more restrictive for a game that has the same content scarcity as its predecessor.

The Strike was a nice taste of the more wide open areas and bigger levels. I hope to see much more diverse gameplay in other Strikes. What a difference it makes when they weren't being restricted by legacy console tech.

I'm on a Pro and didn't have any crashes.

I understand why they did it-but I get everyone wanting to just have some more content. The thirst is real.

Oh, I do too but I just want more new Destiny in general which has left me wanting to say the least after this "Beta" which is really just a glorified demo with three separate game modes from an older build of the game.

I want to get out there and explore while building a new character along the way...just about a 7 week wait now.

It was Earth and part of the Moon for the Beta and vanilla Destiny only had 6 Strikes (5 on Xbox).

the partly 500+ hours that accumulated from many didn´t came from the first 1,1/4 planets, but from the weeklies, raids, pvp fractions, so basically the endgame.

until then, it was maybe 20ish hours, mainly spent on story missions and the occasinal strike.

what the beta did, was introducing the basic concept or vision and at that time, it was revolutionary indeed (merging pvp, pve, social in a stringent way so not mmo-style).
At that´s because it struck everyone so hard.

Exactly this, thank you.

Not liking pvp at all. I'm really hating the double primary and power ammo. TTK is infinite, it's a staring contest.

4v4 Control feels like Skirmish with capture zones.

Supers and cooldowns in general feel eternal.

I'm really digging the story though, would like to see more.

You are one very articulate person.

finished the first mission on ps4 pro. idk wtf people are talking about, the graphics are ass. maybe it's cause i mostly play games on pc these days, but my god this feels jerky and dated. i really hate sounding like a pc snob but 30fps is unacceptable for this type of game.

i just don't understand how its so bad. titanfall 2 has better graphics and 60fps and feels fluid and fast. this game controls like a truck and feels sluggish, no way will i buy this on ps4. its a shame for me personally cause i prefer to play fps games with a controller but i don't wanna be put at a disadvantage going up against folks with M+KB on pc.

also is it me or does every weapon class besides the hand cannon feel like a pea shooter

I was simply stating what was in the original Destiny Beta as far as play-spaces go and how many Strikes shipped in the vanilla version of Destiny.

The variety on display in the opening missions and strike felt significantly better than old Destiny. The final boss of the strike hit that perfect balance of challenging without feeling impossible.

Holy shit this is boring! I don't think I ever had my impressions of a game drop that much in 20 minutes... At leas old Destiny had some open areas...

Maaaaaaaan, Countdown has been nothing but total stomps for the enemy team against mine. Control is better but even then I never really see evenly split games, it's either one team dominating or the other. Also got to a point in countdown where they had won all but one round then we came back and won two, however......the next round they all had their supers and we didn't so basically we had no chance. I feel like maybe they should have locations on the map where you can pick super energy up, especially since you really only get one per game and so far it's always been at the very end.

Also holy shit is a lot of the Failsafe dialogue in the strike pure cringe, some of the worst attempts at humor I've seen in a game.

The default hand canon melts harder than nearly any primary in destiny 1

I didn't think the boss fight was difficult at all as I don't think I've died in the 7-8 runs as of yet although my teammates have mostly in the third phase. A Nightfall down there with difficulty modifiers, etc might play differently and prove to be rather difficult. I also knew what to expect as I've seen that Strike run a ton from the initial reveal and other previews as well.

Graphics aren't bad but aren't wow either.
For me the negatives are the supers (takes way too long) and the hunter ability seems rather weak compared to warlock and titan, but that could be just a lack of practice.
Just fix my supers.

Hunters are awful right now. i'm actually liking the Dongblade though. Warlock feels more like what I expected out of them in D1. Also seeing Titans winning 2v1 Melee fights now, as they should.

Fix your Hunters Bungie.

Played on PS4 Pro, graphics are fantastic and the sound design is top notch. Really don't understand why some of ya'll are so insanely picky when it comes to that shit.

The game is fun, but seems pretty hard...and something seems off about the controls. Or maybe the FOV is slightly different. Need to play more to figure it out.

It really does feel like Destiny 1.5 which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Looking forward to the fleshed out campaign, just wish the black screens between cut scenes didn't exist.

I was hoping PvP would at least salvage my interest as I knew the story stuff would bore me to death. Unfortunately I can't say that it did. I've gone from a likely buy to wait it out on PC. Glad I'll be able to stand back from the hype on console release to watch how the game does.

But I really liked the Destiny 1 Beta and didn't care much for the game. Maybe this time it will be the opposite, all I can do is hope I guess.

I ran the first mission full with the auto rifle. I thought ttk was slow.

Switched to the handcannon (especially with the close encounters), and yeah. I agree with you. It does melt.

I do think the ttk in pve is really an issue that you really have to put it in them to pop a head shot now

Yup. Without a nighstalker class, there is nothing redeemable with the hunter class this go around.

I'm still going to main it though. Eff off bungie!

then we can have a philosophical discussion if "game" and "content" is defined subejctively :D

just Shooting Thorn (the actual pressing r2 and aiming) for example was for me i bet 10 hours gametime alone, so content would mean that it´s just one weapon, but the playtime (gametime) would be exponential to that.

you could say that the d1 beta was 20% percent of the assets though

I'm not sure what you're getting at as I love Destiny and it's easily my most played game over the last three years (2000+ hours in-game and 3000+ hours overall not that we're counting here for any particular reason other than... yeah, I like it).

Again, I just stated what was in the original Destiny Beta concerning play-spaces and PvE and what the full release shipped with regarding number of Strikes.

Are the supers just slow because we don't have endgame level armor ? I see everything is "legendary" but I assume that 200 power isn't anywhere close to max level. If they're doing something similar to current destiny, supers will charge a lot faster once we are all near max power.

If they were going to go 4v4 I was hoping the pvp map design would feel more deliberate. Will a stark stark downgrade in map quality compared to the halo games.

Not sure what you're getting at. There's a Strike and there's two PvP maps. Both are being tested.

As I stated in my op, it was super short? Strike took 30 minutes, maybe. I was under the impression they'd just let us level from level 1 to some low level cap or something. Not sure why I thought that.

This is a short ass beta co-op. The fuck? Was it mainly to test pvp?

The only thing closely resembling a "Beta" with this whole experience will be the 1-hour stress test on Sunday at The Farm social space. The rest is three different and separate game modes on an old build of the game with a total lack of character building/progression (but we had this info going into it).

bungie halo 4'd all the audio. everything sounds the same. i don't even know what i'm getting shot by.

but unlike halo 4, the sounds themselves don't suck.at least

It's not bad but something small is different.

Or maybe it's just weird adjusting back to 30fps for a shooter. I haven't played D1 in like 6 months

heh, it did feel a bit slow at first. i've been playing mainly OW after all. but it def didn't feel quite as sluggish as D1's default sensitivity.
