Sort of conflicted on how I feel about pvp. Maybe it's because I've been playing so much Overwatch, but the look and feel of the game is just so different from the first one. Even running at full speed and turning feels much more clunkier..at least with Titan. The emphasis on gun play is intriguing though. It takes a long to get a grenade back and even longer to get a super, although the fist of havoc having multiple slams makes it much more powerful when you get it.

It's not bad but something small is different.

Or maybe it's just weird adjusting back to 30fps for a shooter. I haven't played D1 in like 6 months

Could be this. I've been playing almost exclusively 60fps games recently and the weaker hit responses also throw off my perception of where im landing shots.

Feels like the dead zone is bigger or something. Although, I haven't played in about a year.

I moved the "Look Sensitivity" from 3-to-6 and it felt much better and more like the current iteration of Destiny to me. May or may not help others.

Honestly, this is what I feel as well.

Is this 'Bungie sublime gunplay' that people have been shouting on Gaf?

Part of the issue here is the fact that we don't have our tweaked/perfected loadouts that we're used to but yes, something definitely feels different with the overall gunplay in the "Beta."

They've definitely tweaked something about the aiming and hit responses for the worse. The weapons in the beta also seem less satisfying to use than in D1. The absolute best points of D1 feel less stellar this time around.

Can't wait to see how this controls with PC.

Really felt like controller was gimping me. Especially with double X not registering at times.

No, this feels pretty wack compared to the first Destiny in this regard.

It's like the list of things they should have changed and the list they absolutely should not have got mixed up.

finished the first mission on ps4 pro. idk wtf people are talking about, the graphics are ass. maybe it's cause i mostly play games on pc these days, but my god this feels jerky and dated. i really hate sounding like a pc snob but 30fps is unacceptable for this type of game.

i just don't understand how its so bad. titanfall 2 has better graphics and 60fps and feels fluid and fast. this game controls like a truck and feels sluggish, no way will i buy this on ps4. its a shame for me personally cause i prefer to play fps games with a controller but i don't wanna be put at a disadvantage going up against folks with M+KB on pc.

also is it me or does every weapon class besides the hand cannon feel like a pea shooter

You mean PVE or PVP? cuz default Pulse and AR felt fine in PVE. I was quite happy with how the AR felt in this game compared to D1.

Only played the story mission and the strike so far, but I really enjoyed the story mission. The graphical upgrade was pretty nice too, particularly when the weather effects kicked in. I'm not 100% sure I like the inverted spire strike, its a bit long and the second stage of the boss is kind of shitty. So far about what I expected, can't wait till release.

From what I seen on streams Bungie decided to make PvP more balanced at the sacrifice of some PvE elements. Honestly I think it adds a little of the skill level to the game and now I'm more excited for it when I can play on PC.

Have they fixed the issue where PS4 PRO users would crash mid tutorial? I've been replaying ever since and keeps crashing over the part of Zavala, and there seems to be no fix. I really wanna try out the Strike, and Crucible but ughhhhh.

no crashes here i have a pro, maybe is another thing?

Boy, where to start.

Pro's - I am playing on a PS4 pro, the game does look better than D1.

Yeah, thats about it for me compared to D1. I don't like any of the changes they made. The gunplay is weird, its like spray and pray with weak weapons. I HATE the dual primary slot. I mean it takes so much from the game now that shotguns and snipers are power weapons. Like others said, you are lucky to get a super in PVP.

The story could be interesting but let's be honest, this might have slightly more content than vanilla but its a pass for me. I am honestly surprised they screwed it up this bad. Even the missions feel the same, load the ghost into a terminal, fight waves.

The Strike was ok but nothing I want to grind 100 times. I dont know, really bummed about this one.

Why does running feel the same speed as walking? The mobility in this game feels like I'm constantly in jello.

It feels like they pulled back on everything.

Less movement.
Less supers.
Less special ammo (power ammo).

I'm getting my super at best once per game and I'm slaying.

They 100% need to buff super timers, no 2 ways about it.

Movement feels good though I reckon, and special weapons are super powerful, in a good place too I think.

I feel the opposite from the majority of people. I think the feel of the gunplay is better. Hit registering feels a little off, but the feel of shooting is better IMO. Graphics are def. an upgrade and the environments from what was shown are much more interesting.

I actually really enjoyed the gunplay for the most part. I just didn't like the nerf to the timers (grenades, supers), that was a very drastic change.

Got home at 8 am still could not login to psn. Tried to reset the router, changed internet settings, etc. around 9 am changed to neighbor's wifi suddenly can login into psn. Played story mission, but game glitched at the wave based defense mission. Quit game then changed internet back to my router, suddenly internet worked. Replayed story mission. Over all its an iterative sequel, but kind of felt like they finally get what makes Destiny work and that would be bad guys with flame canisostors on their back that explode. Played on control match and had fun. Over all it's not the definition the game needs, but it seemed like something is building here. Also those trees in the intro cinematic on my ps4 are really showing their age. Feels like a visual downgrade occured.

forgive my ignorance but for people looking for codes; why not use amazon? I did and got my code instantaneously after pre-ordering from there....then just cancelled the pre-order...though I sure amazon wouldn't like this.

I think the concern here is that the Destiny 1 beta showed too much of the game that didn't have a lot of content. So now people are concerned that the lesson Bungie learned from that was not to make a game with more content, but instead make the beta more restrictive for a game that has the same content scarcity as its predecessor.
Slippery slope. If ppl are that concerned wait for reviews? There’s no way to circumvent this concern.

I think a lot of the issues people are having with gunplay are likely fixable. I think back to the year one patch that BF4 had and how drastically that changed the game and I don't know I think it's fixable.

After a couple of hours playing PvP. I am happy with the gameplay overall. I think I'm just burnt out on Destiny, but definitely doesn't seem to hold me as much as D1 (and D1 PvP is complete shit).

Game looks great. Voice acting and music as superb as always. However, super attainment needs a buff, and I am not liking the ttk, too slow for me.

I think I will main Destiny PvE and COD:WW2 for PvP.

I think the guns feel great, especially the hand cannons. I'm really enjoying the beta. My only complaints are the removal of the special weapons in favor of the power weapon slot. I also think the cooldown timers are too long. Other than that I'm having a blast.

My complaint is the top of the screen is way too busy for crucible. Too much shit on the screen at some points, and the scarcity of power ammo. But I'm enjoying the beta.

Gunplay wise, it feels the same for me except for handcannons. The handcannons didn't feel as good to me as they did in D1.

Movement felt the same except for jumps, which I've heard is toned down in final release? I dunno.

Wasn't a fan of the map used in control.

Countdown mode I liked except it felt like it went on forever when I had a competitive game....and then my two teammates dropped. Yay.

And yeah, grenade cooldown and super timer is way too long, but that might be gear related (I hope?).

I very much like the movement of Warlocks now compared to D1, more crisp and shooting in the air feels great - pls buff my Nova Bomb timer though Bungie, using it *never* per match doesn't really feel amazing lol.

In general I really like what I've played, with the exception of the gun feel being slightly off in ways in sure everyone's already discussed, but man, the Warlock jump situation is really bad. Controlled Glider used to be smooth and comfy but now it's just absurdly slow. I can't see myself maining any other class (although I'll betraying make one of each) but if the jumps all feel like this in the final game, I'm gonna be feeling pretty bad pretty often.

It seems like it is, but can anyone confirm or Deny that Destiny 2 is using HDR?

It’s not HDR at the moment. I played today on the Pro hooked up to my LG OLED and it didn’t flip over to HDR when I played. And as far as I know, they haven’t committed, or even hinted at, making it HDR in the future.

I agree, FOV feels pretty gimped

I am enjoying the Countdown gametype though, lots of opportunities for clutch comebacks if you play your cards right.

It doesn't.

I booted up destiny 1 just to be sure.

The movement of the warlock in D1 is a faster than D2. Also there is more difference between sprinting and not sprinting.

The other thing that's killing me is how shitty it feels to jump with warlock.

Whatever they did to the movement is a huge downgrade.
