PlayStation VR Thread 2: Reloaded

Finished Superhot VR today and unlocked all the extra challenges and Endless mode, so there's plenty of extras to keep playing, after the main campaign.

Love this game so much, it's just brilliant and would love a sequel or DLC with even more levels.

So played the last 3 on my list:

Dick wilde
Korix
Tumble VR

I'm so glad I bought dick wilde instead of VR invaders. Dick wilde looks so boring in the trailers, but actually playing it is soo much fun. There are many weapons and levels, many different enemies, scoreboard and whatnot. Really fleshed out game. Love it.

But my personal favorite this night is korix. What an awesome game. I am looking for another tower defense game since South Park on Xbox 360 but never found a good one again until today. Korix works perfect in VR, so relaxing and fun. I needed to stop me from playing because I could play this all night.

Last one is tumble VR. This is kinda okay I guess? Didn't play much, but all I experienced is just tower stacking, an annoying robot telling me what to do and my tracking went completely nuts for some reason. I think some games, especially the first wave of games, needs the camera closer to the headset to work properly.

These are the games I got:

Super Hot - must have, VR showcase
Windlands - must have, Spiderman simulator
Dick Wilde - must have, really good for casual
Korix - if you like tower defense, it's a must have
Thumble VR - for 5€ it's okay if you have nothing else to play nothing

PSVRFrank with more GameStop employee evidence for Fallout VR. It's a Pre-order magazine can anybody confirm these exist?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEBIV6bjz8c
Huh. Went from GameStop employee to a magazine for GameStop ad. This is impossible to track down unless he reveals it. If it's in a public magazine why would he even try to keep it as a secret? Designing 2 pages and printing out is the easiest thing to do, or it's just a random ass magazine that randomly google search psvr 2017 release and slap it together

My word that video was abrasive but it's all for them views.

Tumble gets more complex. Give it time.

I noticed blue lines around the edges of the lenses. I tried googling it and it seems like some people have seen the same thing but they guess it was just the way the lenses work. I couldnt find much else than that one site about it. It was even blue on an all white screen. Anyone else notice this? Its on the very edge of the lenses in all directions sometimes it left side sometimes right etc.

Still waiting for his clarification, whether he's the image source or he was just spreading the words too. Kind of weird for someone in US to receive a brochure for EU?

I don't doubt the catalog is real. The problem is that I don't trust the actual catalog to be correct. It's too easy for some publishing guy to have messed this up and just assumed Fallout 4 was coming to PSVR by mistake.

If it's a random magazine, then yea, it can be a mistake. But if it's really a GameStop Ad/brochure as he claimed to be, they usually know extra stuff, there's no way a mistake will be made in an advertisement, more so a published one.

Picked up Drive Club VR at Target yesterday and played it for about an hour tonight. It's actually somewhat better than I expected it to be, though nowhere near as clean from an image quality standpoint as Dirt Rally on an OG PS4. The things it has over DR are it's possible to win races without hours of learning curve and the scenery is more interesting (cities, buildings, etc.).

I also grabbed Starblood Arena for dirt cheap through Best Buy's Black Friday in July sale, though I haven't tried it out yet. Tomorrow night most likely.

It's almost certainly not this, but my PSVR came with blue plastic stickers over the lenses. Not everyone's did.

Image is not by him, seems like only PSVR FRANK knows the source now.
Why would he clarify something that wasn't even mentioned in video? This is the problem with the internet. People wants to believe something to the point that their brain is making stuff up for them.

It's such a great game, yes it's a little hazy and I wish it could have been worked on or improved more on the Pro, but I love it. Here's a close race between myself and DHC showing both our viewpoints.

I finally caved and bought a psvr!

I've spent quite a bit of time with a mate's Vive and I've been a little hesitant to take the plunge. I was a bit worried that the psvr would feel like a really cheap alternative...

I'm actually super happy with it. It's waaaay more comfortable than the Vive - to the point where I prefer it even considering the lower fidelity. I wear glasses and I find it nearly impossible to wear them with the Vive but in psvr there's no dramas at all.

I bought VR Worlds, Job Simulator, Batman and Rush of Blood. It's funny: I found myself considering what would show off the headset better to other people almost more than what I want to play myself :)

I've dusted off my move controllers and they're fine in VR but that's the one thing that the Vive shits over psvr for... its controllers are so much better. Still, Move is serviceable.

Anyway, I'm stoked. I've subscribed to this thread and HELLO to this community :)

Welcome and enjoy your purchase :) RoB is great for what it is and being in the sale right now it's a steal, would also recommend Statik and Werewolves Within, ALSO if you are in the UK and have a passing interest in shooters, then as I posted above Game have Farpoint with the Aim controller in stock right now, these have been as rare as rocking horse shit of late with eBay prices getting upwards of £130 The controller really does add a whole new level to games as well.

And why wouldn't it have been announced at E3 like Doom and Skyrim were? It isn't coming. F4 struggles to hit 30 frames as it is on the base PS4. Doubling that and the VR performance hit...

This is a situation where the whole no Pro exclusives is going to bite Sony in the ass. VR should have been a Pro only deal, and I say that as someone who uses VR on a base.

Thanks mate. Farpoint is on my radar but they're (as you say) sold out everywhere - I live inn australia.

Hopefully the Aim controller gets plenty of support going forward. Looks like a really nice piece of kit!

Yep, Superhot is the real VR deal.
Game is awesome, tracking works fine (except when you're overlapping your face and your hands or when objects are too high/too close).
I found it pretty challenging for now, and loving the variety of situations. It's really a puzzle shooter, full of little "Fuck, I'm Neo/John Wick" moments.
Can't wait to dive a bit more into it.

Just bought resident evil 7, can't wait to play. Anyway even just using psvr with virtual cinema on non-vr games is amazing. It's so much more immersive having a giant screen with complete darkness.

Cinema mode huge screen will be more nauseating. But in VR, you can really see the scale of the houses, doors and enemies, it's insanely amazing. Playing back normal screen will hurt your eye, and aiming too. Aiming in VR is so fun.

I don't doubt that FO4VR will come to PS4 eventually I'm just not sure it will be this year. Can you imagine the amount of optimisation they'll have to do to get it running at an acceptable framerate on the base PS4. Also they're putting out Skyrim VR around that time as well they won't want either eating into the others sales.

To be honest, I'm not really feeling nauseated. Just tried a few games and they work like a charm. Personally, I like the cinema mode.

Putting the patch through a few more rounds of testing. Its coming soon.
Arizona Sunshine.

I've been pausing my progress waiting for the patch, maybe I should just continue since it might take awhile.

Superhot is great but there's one thing dragging it down for me - Given that the Move controllers kinda suck at tracking at the best of times it would be nice if there were more lenient check points (i.e. after each stage instead of every 5 levels or so).

They really shouldn't though, try changing the place you have your camera and adjust your room lights if possible to try out different settings.

Superhot and Arizona for me atleast have shown perfect tracking with no jittering.

I think if the game didn't do the checkpointing you would complete it extremely quickly - I like the checkpoints as it means you learn the earlier stages and can blast through them a lot quicker and more impressively the more times you do them.

Shamefully late on this one but I purchased Until Dawn : Rush of Blood with the 65% discount on PSN Europe.
Will have to finish Farpoint (and some Splatoon 2 & Destiny 2 Beta) before I jump in.

RoB is great and well worth it at that price. Farpoint is a lot shorter than I expected and really hope for a sequel or some story based DLC at some point.

As long as I stay in the play area I have had no problems with the move, the fidelity is nowhere near as good as the touch or vive but haven't had any problems with playing the game or accuracy, currently playing it on hard core. The only time I have problems with them is when I move outside the visible tracking. As you are moving about a lot in Superhot this can be a lot until you become more nuanced. I folded an old rug over that I had stashed away and found that was perfect for stopping me from wondering off. Going for high shots I find best to crouch down, floor objects learn to do the hold hand in direction of weapon until it is highlighted then just pull the trigger and it will jump to your hand, for throws it is more of a pushing motion.
