I am still annoyed at you yes. You support an organisation that argues one moment that you need arms to defend yourself, argues the next that they fight for your right so you can defend yourself and then they make it easier to bad guys can get guns and should heaven forbid a bad guy with a gun goes after you they will support the George Zimmermans of the world or will stay silent when the Philando Castille's of the world exercise rights the NRA fought for. So yeah, I do look at you weird when you support them. I have listened to some black ammosexuals who were spouting the NRA sedition bullshit and taking up arms should the govt not know their place, as well as the good guy with gun fallacies and only in the Philando Castille stuff did he engage in some introspection where he started to realise, maybe these guys don't actually like me.

I am not for banning guns and all that shit (I do think people should have to show they can use them responsibly and get a license for them), that being said, fuck the NRA. They really aren't the friends of gun enthusuists. And they are more and more showing their true colors. At best they are fear mongerers using a certain demographic's fear just to get them to send them more money.
If they really cared about the cause they lie to care about, there would be so many things they would do differently (like discouraging people from carrying guns out in the open just to scare people. That's not how you get people ok with with something they are afraid of ... using it to blatantly intimidate them) And they wouldn't blatantly ignore a cut and dry case of some one who got killed being a responsible gun owner who just happens to be black (no, that's not why they ignored him... not at all /s). Nor would they be campaigning for shit like this that doesn't even relate to guns in the first place (and that's just one thing wrong with them campaigning against BLM).

What does that do anyway? Does it limit their lobbying clout? Otherwise, its a rather toothless label. Its also rather obvious by now.
The NRA has to create new talking points because gun sales have plummeted with Obama being out of office. The story then was Obummer was going to take your guns so you better stock up if you want any at all. Now with Trump in office, gun sales have dropped precipitously.

I can imagine. The way up through Western Maryland is Trump country and there was homemade shit plastered everywhere - including a huge Trump 'Murica sign on the side of a tractor trailer. I noticed an interesting thing though the last time I went up there last month - not a single Trump sign remained. The tractor trailer was still there, but the sign had been peeled off. I think there's a lot of buyer's remorse.

Exactly. The NRA isn't a friend of gun enthusiusts, they only pretend to be. They're really just a fear mongering organization that uses that fear to raise money. They don't really care if they are advancing the cause, in fact I'd bet they don't want to get their way cause then they can't fear monger to get more money. It's kind of like a guy we have here that tries to get things passed that are horrible but sound good on the outset so the people who bother to look into what he's really trying to sell see it's bad and campaign against it so he can get the people who think they are a good idea to see there is an "enemy" and donate money to him (and it's known now he keeps most of that money). People in Washington might recognize the name, Tim Eyman (sp?).
And if the democrats try to take a hard line on guns, they play right into the NRA's hands honestly. That's exactly what the NRA wants. And it makes it easy for the NRA to get people to be people who will vote due to one cause by playing on that fear. Now, we can argue whether it matters if they play into the hands (Whether taking a hard line is the right thing to do anyways), but make no mistake, the NRA wants them to do that and it does make it easy for the NRA to turn people into one issue voters by using that fear (though I don't know if the NRA cares about that so much as it being a side effect... they just want people scared that some one is going to take their guns away cause it makes for easy money)
I know plenty of gun enthusiusts who hate the NRA. They're not a friend of gun enthusiusts, they only pretend to be.
