What game makes people feel sick? I've been looking for something for a while and so far nothing has.

The Climb for example, the feeling of falling was lost on me.

No horror shit because fuuuuuuuck that

So far:

Rigs
RE7 with smooth turning
3D Youtube videos that don't seem to have a high framerate

Battlezone and Eve used to, but I've gotten accustomed to them. I had to take phenergan the first few times I played.

For those of you that got the Amazon bundle with the $100 gift card how was everything packaged?
Just curious since my GTX 1070 showed up today and they didn't even put it in a shipping box.

I've seen several other people who had their $100 gift card go missing so I'm wondering how the gift card was packaged now.

Play Adrift, fly forward and rotate clockwise or counter clockwise, if that doesn't do you in then nothing else will!

I feel like I'm never able to get a good fit on my headset. The lens spacing line (can't remember if that's horizontal or vertical) is clear, but the other that is dependent on where it rests on your face is sort of clear, but a little blurry between the lines. I can't seem to get a good fit on the headset and it's driving me nuts!

ADR1FT didn't really make me feel sick, though I didn't play much past the first room where you're ripping around in zero G.

Mission:ISS is the only thing that has made me sick so far, and I think that was mostly due to me getting going too fast using the handholds to propel myself, and also the disconnect of expecting to feel the wall when you bump into something, but don't.

Make sure the back/bottom of the strap is very low on your head, like right above the top of your neck. Undo all the straps, push the headset out all the way away from your face so the straps are even and loose, then push it into your face and adjust until you have a clear image. Fasten the top strap first, then the side straps. Don't make the side straps tight, it should be secure without there being pressure on your face.

That may not be the issue, but maybe it'll help. It took me a couple weeks to figure out what worked best for me.

I've played almost everything, including modern & classic FPS with full analog locomotion & turning, no sickness.

Only one game has made me feel sick: Ultrawings (flight sim). Without any comfort options, with the aircraft bobbing and listing through the air, looking out the side window, after about 15 mins play I felt slightly sick for about 3 hours.

Turned on some comfort mode stuff and so far it's been fine.

Nothing has made me feel sick yet but there have been a couple things that have made my brain go like wait this feels weird. Luckys Tale did this with the camera panning and Lone Echo Arena made my senses feel weird with the pull on objects to move. I didnt give lone echo a really long try so I cant say if its something id get used to. I generally have a good tolerance for motion sickness.

RIGS is definitely the game that's come closest to making me feel a bit off, but even that took maybe an hour or more to start to set in.

EDIT: Oh, and playing P.N.03 through DolphinVR for multiple hours, due to everything around you updating at 30fps. Worth it though... ;)

Same here. It feels the same as when I get off a boat after being on for a few hours. My equilibrium is just a bit messed up for a while, but I'm not nauseous or anything.

Can't wait for more Echo Arena! I may pick up Lone Echo if it gets good enough impressions, but the social/competitive aspect of the arena portion is what has me intrigued. It's so damn fun.

So far Lucky's tale and Google Earth (when flying) make me feel sick, seems like I have issue with fast motion in game. Will try some racing games later today to see if they manage to make me throw up :d

talk to you in two hours. haha.
HOLLY AMAZEBALLS!

Do not judge VR before you try VR...,

i thought i knew what it would be like but i was just mind blown, it was almost overwhelming at first, absolutely spectacular. I have NEVER had a gaming experince like it, absolutely wipes the floor with anything else ive tried.

My non gaming GF tried it and picked up the controls straight away for the touch controller, i think we as games can take for granted how difficult it is for non games to understand a gamepad.

Ive only done the First Contact demo, Google Earth and ISS demo but even that has left me almost speechless. Going to try Robo Recall now and then try and get Steam VR setup

Of course there is negatives, Low resolution is painfully obvious and the screen door effect is very noticeable but after a few minutes your brain forgets about those details.

I went from "the screen kind of sucks but I guess VR looks kind of cool" to "I never want to play games another way again" over the span of my first 4 hours of Rift gameplay.

Can confirm VR isn't even close to being a gimmick.

They refunded my Gift Card. Of it the Gift Card shows up after this and I get to keep it for whatever reason, I'd have an effective $200 Rift XD

Steam VR environments are very cool, but I'm not sure how to add more outside the awful interface they have inside the headset. I subscribed to more in the steam workshop but they don't seem to show up unless I add the limited number from the headset. Would like to have more VR environments.

Rift sensor is showing in stock at bestbuy.com

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/oculus-...ck/5882515.p?skuId=5882515&productCategoryId=

i ordered one yesterday and it shipped in 2 hours! set to be delivered Friday with standard shipping.

Looks like it's gone. I'm glad I ordered it last week after hesitating for a while, wasn't sure if I needed it. What made me pulled the trigger was on Amazon it showed 1-2 months estimate and Best Buy ship date was moving further and further. Apparently I'm getting the headset today from amazon, they shipped it via FedEx overnight. Can't wait to try it! But then splatoon 2 is also coming tomorrow. Too many games so little time :(

Felt the same since starting my vr journey a month or so ago with psvr, and rift takes it to even another step.

Playing games like chronos is fucking incredible

I can't stress this enough about how awesome Chronos is.. And here's the thing I realize that the act of actual motion in gaming, hand gestures, etc... Is not going to be everyone's excitement or everyone's preferred way to play games, and I'm one of those people where 35 years of controller and screen is what feels the best and most natural.

But holy shit... Playing with a controller while being "in" a game, is fucking amazing. This isn't about the motion controls aspect of VR, this is totally about classic gaming with a VR headset which gives exactly what I personally want the most and that is to sit and just chill, game and relax.

This to me is the next step in actual immersion for classic gaming. It has to be, i dont see how it can't be.

I'm just blown away, you feel a part of the game. I been waiting for that gaming wow moment and this is truly it for me.

The motion stuff like robo recall and what not see amazing, it's so fun... But classic controller gaming will forever win out got me and seeing how it is in chronos is just amazing..

If you're a metroidvania fan, you may want to check out Witchblood. I've put a few hours into it and I'm enjoying it, though it's rough around the edges in some areas. The diorama style is similar to the underground parts of Lucky's Tale minus the z-axis.

My order just got processed for shipping. Finally!

I can't wait to get this thing. The Lone Echo reviews are coming out and it sounds like it's amazing.

Did you know Halo invented the FPS?

Still baffled on why is it taking so long when they have it in stock on product page. Guess I give it a few days before contacting them

Mine came in a small cardboard box which had an envelope inside it with the gift card instead of a large card, (like a greeting card).

Mine is the same, even though the rift shows in stock on the product page, says it isn't shipping until the 21st-28th, and my touch shows 28-Aug 2nd.

What were your dates saying on your Amazon page? Mine is "supposed to ship on the 28th" with an expected delivery "between the 24th and 31st."

#fuckonami
My headset says July 21-28 delivery and touch controllers say July 26-August 2.

Gift card shipped today. I ordered on the second wave during Prime Day

Amazon pls

I was so excited to pick up one of these from BestBuy (their bundles do have the Xbox controller + wireless adapter if anyone was wondering) but as I set it up I realized that the USB 3.0 controller in my ASUS board isn't compatible with the sensors :(

Now I have to wait until a new PCIe card shows up on Saturday to try it ;_;

Have you tried supersampling? It does wonders for text readability. I'm going 1.5 render scale across the board with my 980ti and haven't had any problems in any games. Probably thanks to ASW though. I honestly can't tell when it's on or not.

God rays will be there, but their effect can be lessened of your manage to get a good fit by doing the following

"A properly adjusted headset should be fairly comfortable and not cause any marks on your face. The rear triangle should be VERY LOW, positioned just above your neck (the occipital region). This allows the top strap to take most of the weight of the Rift. The side straps should only provide just enough pressure such that the rear triangle doesn't slide upwards."

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice! I didn't notice that much difference with supersampling and the god rays got a bit better :)
It's just something I'll need to get used to.

what they have in stock isn't sold by amazon. Amazon's warehouse will be in stock for sale again August 7th since they are still filling orders that are backordered.

if you goto the "in stock" page it will show it is sold by another company and fulfilled by Amazon.
