Been playing on and off and felt really beat after the 1/2 ap event.

At this time I have,

Gilly @ 60
Emiya Shero! @ 50
Heracles @ 50
Marie @ 40

I also have these 3*s all at level 40,
-Medusa, Medea, Kid Alex, Kiyohime, Mash, Proto Lancer.

Y'all think I should roll for some more units? Of course I want 5* units but in terms of the easier 4*s, all I really want is Nero.

I think it is better to save SQ for limited hero because you have a better chance to obtain a non limited one in the not-sure-when guaranteed gacha?

Thank you for that.

I was thinking about using my summon tickets to get another 5* but none of the content seems difficult with my current team and a good support.

Just keep on saving and wait for the Nero rate up which should not be far-off at all.

I'm stuck with FP-summons only for the foreseeable future but I think I'll do just fine. Some of them are quite strong. Hell St. George is a mainstay of my team and the only time I even consider swapping him out is when there's a lot of assassins.

Personally since I can't summon from the real gacha I'm making my goal to level and raise bond levels on all my 1-3* characters. This will open up interludes which will get me more quartz (and something to do).

I'm kicking myself real hard.

Primarily played on Cemu. Hadn't transferred back over to phone before maint, can't get into my account to get the transfer code. Emailed support before work but nothing back yet. Hopefully they can get me a temporary transfer code.

I'd be real bummed to have to reroll again. Esp without Gil.

Atalante does literally no damage christ.

I'm glad I'm in a lower level mission because GOOD GOD.

Nyatalata is only good for admiring her fluffy ears and tail. I've had her in JP and NA now and I never use her. I actually have her at NP2 here in NA because I got trolled from a summon ticket thinking it was Gil and I don't know what the hell that's even good for. She's easily outclassed by freebies like Nobu and Kuro, and even 3* Kid Gil is better than she is.

probably around new years but if they follow the jp rules, only paid for sq count towards the guaranteed 5* rolls

It's a shame because her art is actually exceptional for fate/shit and she's kawaii as fuck.

Which Spirit Portrait are you supposed to get with the ticket?

you're waifu

if you squint a bit she could pass for an Elin. That's gotta count for something.

I know I shouldn't expect a gacha game to be balanced but Quick/Crit being as bad as it is really rubs me the wrong way. It just automatically makes a third of the game underwhelming (unless it's something like Lancelot). Everything I read about Quick makes it seem like an underperformer and does this just never really change, even in the JP version?

So, if I were to want to get into this what would I want ideally to start off with as far as characters and stuff like that to reroll for. Started watching apocrypha and need some fate in my life to hold me over between episodes.

Is there a way to tell which Servants have a character story mission tied to them?

Do they just show up in the list as soon as you draw the Servant?

Most characters have story missions, they just might be in an area NA hasn't unlocked yet.

If you click on the character portrait their interludes are listed right above their Ascension Mats list : http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/guide_faq.php#tier

Waver is the only unlocked 5* considered super top tier in the pool right now, but pretty much all of the available 5* characters are good.

Going by lore it kinda makes sense, since the HGW by design is unbalanced.
The entire thing is rigged in favor of the 3 main families, who get first pick of the 3 Knight classes, Archer, Saber, and Lancer.

The other 4 classes are supposed to be terrible, and just be used as filler to power the grail.

But yes it does suck, I really want a quick team.

Berserkers are great I wish I could give all my dudes Madness Enhancement ._.

Another question. Over the campaign banners I see an orange number on the top right. I interpret them to mean "there's something for you to do here", but even when I clear the free missions in the marked nodes the numbers don't go away. What are these supposed to indicate?

Depends on how lucky you get with the gacha tbh. If you get Okita, Scathach, Jack etc then it's definitely viable.

People will say Waver (and tbf he is top tier in this game), but I'd recommend just going with whichever characters you like.

Hitcount is king for generating stars. That's why crit teams are better anchored by Gilgamesh than any quick card user we have now - every card hits 5 times, and extra card hits 8 times.

Atalante has decent hitcount on each quick card, but bad stargen. Both 4* assassins we have now have good stargen, but bad hitcount. Hassan, a 2*, is the best quick card user for stargen right now because he's good on both.

Eventually we will get servants with high attack, high quick card hitcount, and high stargen - and they will be among the most broken in the game.

Well that's what I'm talking about, right? There shouldn't be only a few Servants that can use Quick. Considering it's the "RNG" option to Art's and Buster's "reliable" options shouldn't it be better than either of those two on average, with the "RNG" being a drawback?

But in practice, at least so far, Buster is just far superior to the other two except in some fights where you want to use NPs. My Gil would be a lot better if he was 3 Buster. In fact I think all my Servants would be better with Busters instead of Quick. Atalante, for example, on top of being already weak is made even weaker by 3 Quick cards. She'd be usable if she was BBBAQ, which is just downright weird, and I feel this is true for a lot of these starting servants.

Only because Gil doesn't need Quick cards at all, that man shits gold stars no matter what card you pick.

Alright thanks! I'll just stick with whatever I end up getting that I like then, or if I get lucky and get him I'll go with that. Just wanted to know if there were any absolutely must have characters, or some that were crazy busted like I know there are occasionally in other gacha games.

Quick is not about high variance, it's about either making stars go to who you want or just stacking the deck with 50 stars in a turn. Ironically most of the servants who do that best are not actually quick users.

(Don't forget we now have the mystic code for boosting stargen even more. My Lancelot can make 64 stars a turn now.)

And honestly, you don't want a "quick team". You want one guy making stars and pushing those buster cards over the top.

(If everyone was BBB, you'd never charge up NPs without Kaleidoscope. That would be painful.)

I use a friend's Waver + Imaginary Element to charge NPs >_>

I get it, but I still don't like the fact that Quick cards feel so useless. It's just such a bummer when you draw 3 Quick Cards, and Quick chain isn't even worth using.

Just passing through... don't want no trouble!!

But is Fate Extella for Switch worth a look based on past iterations?? Concerns about frame-rate aside....is it a good standalone???

If you're charging NPs like that, go for the best kind of Quick chain - the kind with a Quick NP in it.

Atalante has a Quick NP that hits 10 times. It seems like it shouldn't be any worse than Lancelot's in terms of stargen, especially buffed by her other skills.

This is how you prevent those QQQ turns from being dead turns - have a Quick NP ready to chain on demand.

It's... alright. For $20 it's a fun action game set in the fate universe(s), but otherwise it's basically a mid-tier dynasty warriors game. Not as good as DW8 or SW4, but better than some of the crappier PS2 iterations.

Fate/Extella does have a (neglected) OT, but I'm going to pick it up on Steam in a few days. Seems like fun if you like mindless musou mashing thousands of enemies a stage but even if you don't the story is supposedly quite good. I put up with Fate/Extra despite the horrendous combat in that game so I doubt Extella is any worse there since I've played and not completely hated Dynasty Warriors in the past.

It honestly depend if you like dynasty warriors type games.
If you do, it's not one of the bests in that genre, but it is really fun, the campaign is interesting and each characters has his own mini-story.
The switch version also come with the 50 (i think) dlc costumes for free.

Fate/Extra is the better game, for sure.

I'm guessing the Steam version is going to have all the DLC at full price?

If I end up picking it up, I may get the Switch version if performance isn't too terrible.

I played it a bit on my Pro, bought it at launch. Game wasn't for me even though I love Fate. Button mashers for me just aren't fun, I keep pressing the same buttons, keep killing the same thousands of enemies, run to next area, rinse, repeat for tens of hours. It's waaaay too repetitive, and quite honestly a pain to play after a few minutes. All that clicking I remember made my wrists sore after lol.

I'm just playing it now, only done the first stage since Splatoon 2 also came today and I tried that out first. :p

The framerate was pretty ehh in the first section of the map - dropping below 30, but it seemed to stabalise better after that. Otherwise it just seems like a typical musou affair. The dialogue seems amusing enough though.

Yeah, that is the problem with Musou type games, either the repetitive gameplay can stay fun for someone, or it cannot.
It's a type of game that's hard to say if someone will like in advance.

I thought fate/extra had very shit mechanics but I was super into the story and characters. If Extella is along those lines I'd give it a shot, but not at the crazy price they're asking.

ok ill stop editing this post now

You guys are a wet blanket. Sounds like I might want to pass on Extella

I mean it depends on how much you love the franchise and how much you like musou games really. I think fate fans will appreciate the characters and dialogue, and I don't think it's particularly bad musou gameplay either.

I actually avoided spamming the half ap stuff because I didn't want to get burned out on the game so fast.

Anyway, anyone need more friends? I have a bunch of mashous on my list I need to replace.

I thought I posted it but apparently not? For the campaign banners there's an orange number in the top right. What do those things actually indicate? I've clear almost all the free quests in Fuyuki but they're still there.

After the 1/2 AP campaign, I've nearly filled my inventory with XP, ascended D'Eon twice, and ascended every servant I own with an interlude. All but three of them have their bonds to the level needed to unlock their interlude, giving me plenty to do while I wait for the next event to come around.

Of the interludes I've played so far, a few are fun (like Mash's narration of Darius), a lot are kind of mediocre, one is rather tasteless, and Cu Caster's interlude is close to gibberish, with lines like, "This lecture! You guys are the ones who supposed to say it, right!!" It's appalling how undercooked the localization is sometimes.

The bubbles for the Free Quests never go away.

I think it's just the number of quests you can do on a particular place. The Free Quests are repeatable, so that number is 1+ any remaining Interludes.
