Games with the most satisfying controls

What are some games that you find to be very pleasurable if not addicting primarily due to how the controls feel?

Example:

Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden 2:

Strong emphasis on smoothness and responsiveness, possibly moreso than in any other third person action game. There is perfect harmony between the responsiveness of the buttons you're pressing and the stylish animations of Ryu acting the moves out - it feels like an extension of your body. Every action you perform in the game has friction and weight. The combat also has the depth of a fighting game and when you're at peak level you're essentially choreographing and performing stylish martial arts attacks on foes in real time. All at a silky 60 FPS.

Agreed with Ninja Gaiden, i would add Metal Gear Solid V, Super Mario 64,Super Meat Boy...and i am probably forgetting a bunch XD

Crash 3 has pretty fantastic controls, especially compared to the first game. Love slide jumping through the maps.

Also Super Meat Boy is the king of 2D control

All of the Batman Arkham games, just because their fighting systems are so fluid and intuitive. It's no wonder so many games have copied their style since Arkham Asylum!

Absolutely adore how MGSV felt to control. Dark Souls too - both just feel 'right' to me.

Umm... Tales of Graces F feels fab in battles. The recent Berseria also felt incredibly tight.

I also love how the original Kingdom Hearts feels, wonky platforming, weird as fuck block and all.

Oh, and Mario 64. Damn does that game feel wonderful to control.

I've never felt a game feel any more satisfying to control than Gears 3, and therefore by extension Gears 4.

Maybe Grow Home? I love how BUD feels on the controller.

Also, I really like Splatoon. Probably the best aiming you'll get on console for a shooter imo. It's still so infuriating that we have gyro as standard in controllers pretty much and yet only Nintendo bothers to use it currently.

I'll mention one that's less likely to show up: ReCore. Despite its large shortcomings, the game feels like a dream to control.

FIFA, Halo 5, MGSV. I remember playing Ground Zeroes for the first time and messing around with the ridiculous number of mechanics they threw in. You can do just about anything and it feels soo good.

Star trek bridge crew (i know its vr but bravo)

The implementation of motion control's in this game is not only fun but leads to some hilarious interactions with your crew members when you don't know what the fuck to do....queue crew members trying to make finger into hole motions at female bridge crew members while getting attacked by Klingons.

Cross play between ps4 and pc is a big plus....this is a good example of motion controls and good vr.

To add on my list, i recently played dust an elysian tale, and it controls really good. Too bad it lacks a bit of variety in the combos.

Ill probably get shit for this but COD, specifically MW.

I disliked almost every console shooter i played until MW and i think alot of that had to do with how smooth and light the movement and shooting were while still retaining impact. Also it was so satisfying to go iron sights then pop someone. Lt/Rt feels so good.

Honestly, almost every Mario game is simply a delight to control. 2D and 3D imho.
Yep. SMW and SM64 specifically are a joy to control.

MGSV for TPS's, no other TPS comes even close, so so satisfying.

Slide jump no and slide spin are indeed satisfying. Getting the timing just right to slide under an obstacle, yet do the spin to prevent the slow down from the crouch is great.

All of the Batman Arkham games, just because their fighting systems are so fluid and intuitive. It's no wonder so many games have copied their style since Arkham Asylum!

The most satisfying move is the ground pound, the inputs (trigger + triangle/Y feels good to hit), the animations (especially in Knight) and the thunderous sound effect.

Maybe Grow Home? I love how BUD feels on the controller.
This is easily the finest climbing I've experienced in a game and it owes a lot to the "1:1" nature of the climbing. So good, same with its sequel.

Problem with CoD movement is there is very little that distinguishes high level movement from regular movement. It does feel good but it's not that impressive or satisfying compared to something like CSGO or Quake where you have a whole other level of your game added once you master movement.

Recently, I'd say Overwatch and Splatoon have had the most satisfying controls so far, whether it be swimming through the ink or skating around as Lucio, it all feels so smooth and responsive

Someone's gotta mention Half-Life 2 for the combo of fast, responsive shooting/melee animations+satisfying sound effects+elaborate physics system+degree of interaction between player and environment.

Also, Shout outs to Persona 5's control scheme for combat (the cover system's pretty bad though), system's incredibly snappy and the animations make it really exciting to push buttons which I'm sure I wasn't expecting from a turn based game. I hope SMTV borrows from it.

I'm gonna go with Bloodborne.

Also agree with the mentions of Super Meat Boy, Overwatch & Half-Life 2.

Oh, the new Doom. Definitely.

Max Payne 2 and 3. 3 remains the best TPS ever to control.

Forza Horizon 3

Spelunky

MGSV, after a brief learning curve

Titanfall

Uncharted 4 is incredibly responsive while being extremely animation heavy. Its surreal considering the crazy complexety and variety of quality animation.

Uncharted 4 controls amazingly well for how much animation it has.

DOOM 2016 also really nails fast, responsive controls; it's simply a joy to play. Shame it's so big I can't justify having it installed just to play for a quick 15 minute session.

Moving through the city in Dying Light is phenomenal. Great sense of momentum (and ability to manipulate your momentum) plus the most satisfying parkour implementation to date.

Tinertia's rocket jumps are fun to use and satisfying to learn tricks with. Sky high skill ceiling too.

I've got to agree with the Batman Arkham games, especially Arkham Knight. Ejecting from the batmobile into gliding and dive bombing over the city is just wonderful.
