"Police Easily Startled" Warning Signs Appear in Twin Cities

This needs to become a new "real life meme" like Che Guevara's iconic photo, Joe Strummer's "Ignore Alien Orders", the UK's "Keep Calm and Carry On", or France's "Je Suis Paris".

Yes, let's make it a hip thing to insult the million+ US officers that actually do the right thing. That'll show 'em.

On topic, it's a good jab at an area that has clearly had more than their fair share of policing issues, too bad the public works folks will be the poor bastards that will have to work to take them down, lucky them.

I would like to order several. Three cops here are under investigation for tasering a mentally disturbed man to death.

Maybe responsible cops should talk with their irresponsible coworkers.

Do you talk with each and every one of your shitty co-workers? Or do you just try to do as good as you can in the confines of a shitty situation? Let's be fair, a 'good cop' isn't being remarkably evil by doing the latter - just the same as 95% of people.

If those officers actually did the right thing we probably wouldn't have any problems. Or maybe the ones that do the right thing are few and far in between.

they've been popping up on busy intersections, too

tens of thousands will see them before public works folks remove them, and a handful have been removed already

Too bad those million plus routinely don't make an effort to get rid of the bad apples. But...on the whole the US has a policing problem especially when it comes to accountability.

I wonder how many signs are up to make this a problem for public works folks. Got a number?

No, but when someone complains about the shitty work that's done I don't get all offended because I know they're not talking about me

If this sign pisses you off, you're obviously one of the cops that think your job description is professional hitman

Not remarkably evil, judging boringly evil. Cops are in a unique position because they can legally kill people or hold them against their will. A culture that prides itself on integrity and holding fellow officers responsible for their actions would go a long way. Right now, there is an atmosphere of snitches get stitches.

Maybe the ones that don't do the right thing are given far more publicity than those that do the right thing (for fairly obvious reasons). We can be critical without tarring everyone with the same brush - it's called nuance.

That do the right thing like reporting all the horrible shit the baaaad cops do? Every brick in the blue wall is just as guilty as the other.

When we see cops come out against fellow officers publicly, then we'll stop tarring them with the same brush.
If you applied this logic to anything else it would be bordering on hate speech, at least in my country.
Good thing cops aren't a protected class and should never be. You talk about nuance but then you compare ethnic groups to police organizations.

I see this sign will trigger allot of people who aren't affected by the systemic problem in law enforcement.

Makes it even better.

This is just beautiful. Need to have warning signs like this across the entire United States to be honest.

Lol, amazing sign.

yeah thats.. genius.

would piss me off if i was a responsible cop and saw those though, lol.

Responsible cops would be smart and would probably laugh at this shit, even if they are slightly annoyed by it because they understand there is some truth to it.

Are you trying to equate authorities with absolute power over life and death with the minorities they victimize in order to defend their peers that enable it to happen?

I'm saying that the blanket vilification of all members of any class based on (nigh-on) any characteristic or commonality is unjustifiable.

If the was such a thing as a good cop the first thing he'd do at the beginning of a shift would be to arrest most of his co workers

Wtf the Police aren't a class. They provide a service. Your saying if random Applebees employees shot people in their restaurant and got away with it you would still go there. Thats crazy.
