"Police Easily Startled" Warning Signs Appear in Twin Cities

I'm glad I've tried to stop engaging with people who clearly don't want to learn anything and are just shaking the table to get a reaction out of you.

Much less stressful.

They need to put one that say "Caution! Don't disturb the cops".

I moved to the US about 5 year ago (legally, got a VISA, work permit, hire by a company, all that jazz). The very second day after I arrive, I was walking in downtown Seattle. MF Seattle!. My phone was still under a Mexican carrier, so I didn't had all the jazzy stuff (maps, internet and whatnot), so I was using a map plus some notes. I was looking for a specif street, and I saw a police officer standing near a corner. Being SEATTLE (supposedly inclusive city) I though I would get some help.

Was I wrong. I walked over to the police officer, and I just go to say "Excuse me, sir, officer" before he turned, looked at me, and in the most insolent tone, said "I don't speak taco", before turning away and start walking. I almost spout the triple PPP, but then I remember all the paisanos shot down in the previous years, so I kept my mouth shout.

I haven't even get near a cop since then.

All I'm saying is that IA is a real thing, departments are terrified for their jobs/reputation. If you think nothing is done of this stuff, youre delusional at best.

I cant type this anymore clearer... until good cops put up the fight of their lives to cleanse the cop union of their systemic abuse of minorities and power... Whatever the good ones have to do... go public or whatever... but until that fight happens you cannot tell us we should blindly trust a cop that comes our way. That goes triple for us minorities.

Until the good ones do that and don't hide behind the struggles of keeping it real... they will be lumped. Because their hiding allows this systemic abuse to continue.

Last thing i say to you.

Yeah, let's pick a department, how about NY.

Yeah man, IA really nailed their asses to the wall.

They're a part of the problem as far as I'm concerned and not "good" until they do something about it.

I feel like the people with the authority and power to kill people should be the ones with thicker skins over generalization.

You do. But it does eventually wear on those who are good, trying to make a difference. But hey, if we can say a few outliers make them all bad, well then There's not a single good profession worker in the world. All fast food, all teachers, all military, all politicians, etc.

Yup. You're a bad officer.
I'm done.

That's why all these bad cops in the news I see are being convicted right?

STOP STEREOTYPING!! You're perpetuating a problem that doesn't exist, they aren't bad cops. They are figments of people's imagination and if you close your eyes they will go away.

If it was really just a few then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

The sheer amount of shitty cops out there and the amount of lives they endanger is more than "just an outlier". It takes an incredible amount of privilege to boast this like you have.

The only comparable ones you listed would be military and politician since some of them actually do endanger other people's very lives.

They just compared a fast food worker to the police union.

Fast food workers kill just as many people in just as malicious manners as the most organized gang in America. Clearly.

You're lucky this didn't happen.

I, for one, would like to thank J-Rzez for his participation in this thread because if nothing else he is offering a truly fascinating peek at the alternative reality that police officers live in. I said wow multiple times reading this thread.

Yeah, its less stressful when you ignore people with different opinions and views/knowledge of the works and dismiss it as just trying to get a rise out of you.

All I'm going to say one more time is things are in place and actions taken. Believe it or close your eyes and cover your ears, up to you.

Yeah, there's no IA investigations, and you might as well have egg shells for boots. You have no idea. You think people don't watch out for themselves? You don't think people have honor? Quit with the bad movie cop/dept plot. Its not like that at all.

The media has done an epic job of making it known of the bad, but little of the good done everyday which outnumber the bad exponentially. And of course, social media.

#notallcops. Period.

You can thank the Police Union for that, not the media.

The NYPD helped too with the whole turning of the back thing.

Oh, and don't forget all those fine officers who threaten people with cameras. Blatantly ignore constitutional rights is a great way to endear others to the cause.

The image problem isn't the media's fault.

Yes, thats all they do is perpetuate it or not try to do anything about it. Because every single dept in this country has these bad apples. Every department. Im sure that all people deal with is only bad cops. If someone is targeted or has these experiences every single time I wonder why that is. If there are issues like this, take correct action about it and use all proper channels.

Before you reply to anyone else, could you please explain what you meant by the bolded?

It's funny because you're covering your eyes and ears to the actual experiences of minorities in this country and how they suffer under the police-state at hand.

Yeah but HIS dept is clean though, you see.

What a weird conundrum to live in. On one hand, the police in NY are only a couple of bad apples. On the other hand, his dept is clean so there's no need to do anything. What a way to live.

You know you can't disengage but also say "Let me get the last word in!" right? I mean you can, but it makes you look very silly.

You know, when I first read that it stood out for obvious reasons but that was before I knew the poster was actually a cop. That makes it pretty fucking grim.

"Stop acting like n*****s."

They only suffer because they act like stereotypes.
Like that 12 year old child killed a little while back. He should have known better.

I'd say it's more that he doesn't give a shit than covering his eyes.

So you're all out of "You guys are the problem" responses for me huh.

Don’t expect a response, J-Rzez is not brave enough to stop dancing around it and say what he really feels.

The insulting part is the bulk of the times I've been harassed by police is because I fit a description (I don't), and I don't look like I'm from the area (I do/did). His wording is so amazing, considering I've had my shoes tied by them because "niggers run fast." They've come on our property because "we saw someone suspicious (me entering my home). They've even stopped me almost ever time a white friend was driving me home from work/playing ball, because it's assumed he buying drugs in the hood. Shit is ridiculous..these things happen..I'm not the fucking media..

If someone is in trouble all the time with a rap sheet, they're approached differently. You wouldn't stroll up to them when they're called in for a domestic or something.

Judging from your cherry picking of posts to reply to, you seem like a bit of a coward. Exactly the type of person I want to see with a badge and a gun.

And that explains the massive amount of proven racial profiling in police departments around the country and people getting killed while being "angels" how exactly?

If it helps, when fast food workers and teachers start shooting people carelessly every time they get a bit spooked at their job, I'll have no problem holding them accountable for incompetence as well.

Please, that's not evidence of a systemic issue.
If you weren't such a walking stereotype, J-Rzez and his ilk wouldn't bother you.
It's your fault really... have you tried not being black?

No comment. They are aware that they exist.
Interesting. I would have thought that they would be livid and immediately destroyed the signs.

Well whatever the case I hope that this is only the beginning to a plan that will hopefully raise more awareness for examples of abuse or insufficient training for the police. They have to step it up. Corruption is spreading.

City will be going around and removing them. I'm sure they'll be checking whatever cameras they have aground the area to catch the awful unlawful folks who put them up..

welp...are you gonna tell me santa clause exist too?
Please we all know Santa Claus exists. He was even visiting my local mall for a couple of days!

Real nice guy! Really great at making deliveries on time too!

Aw that's unfortunate. But they have to get that those signs were put up there for a reason. Not to cause anarchy.

Oh well, hope those unlawful folks only get a slap on the wrist or something.

For real though, y'all might wanna back off J-Rzez a bit. Wouldn't want someone to feel like going out there and shooting a minority on account of getting their authority disrespected on a videogame forum now, would we? Specially since we all know how easy it would be to get away with it.

Or its that I don't need to reply to these people from what I've already stated? Who are you to judge me?

You're the one who can't handle a sign, my dude.

Don't care about the sign. Just the "**** the police" and "all cops" stuff that's thrown around but the same rules don't apply.

Carry on all.

Probably for the best, yes..agro on 10+ already. Stay safe out there, folks..
