Damn,that looks so good.
Did you take the screenshot?
It was by kanuuna, using ReShade. Another here, showing off some of the Blood & Wine armor. Characters, especially Geralt, tend to have very good detail.

The first example in that video took the rock texture and swapped it for a completely different rock texture. Bad start.
Some of it look like upgrades, but some changes the tone of the original textures completely and for the worse.

Do you know the name? or is it custom-made by him/her?
This looks amazing,i doubt my pc can handle it but i need to test this.
Not sure. I know for one or two of their other shots they used the Super Turbo Lighting mod, though others look vanilla. Most noticeable effect in the shot above is the shallow depth of field.

What are you saying!? This game is 100% Polish! The controls are bad.
The input lag is bad.
The sluggish and laggy menus are bad.
The ridiculously small text is bad.
The voice acting is bad.
The overall lack of polish is bad.
The numerous bugs, even 13 patches in, are bad.
I still wonder why I'm playing this game. I guess it's the atmosphere, cool creatures, and interestint narrative that keep me invested.

That shot also uses the hairworks mods for hair and beard which increase strand density and thin the strands a bit. IIRC, it also using a texture mod for geralts face and the character self shadowing / LOD 0 mod (used to work with the Ancel mod: hence how geralt has nice crisp shadows on his face here). Though I am no longer sure it is possible to find that / if it works at all. Geralt, last time I checked, was missing proper micro self shadowing on his face with the latest patches.
Only thing that bothers me in Witcher 3 is the WAAAY exaggerated movement of the grass and trees. It's super un-natural and looks absolutely bonkers. In a realistic looking game like this it really takes me out.

Ugh, that W3 mod makes the textures too realistic and mess the color tone, you can see in that video how the game art gets fucked up and doesn't work as good.
Kinda irellevant no?Call me up when your fave is the game of the generation, better textures or not.
Did thread title get changed as some point?
I agree with you. I have seen plenty of pics from the mod and in some cases I prefer the original artwork and in some cases the mod looks better. Not to mention polygon and texture size budgets are a lot more important if you are making the game for platforms that are way less powerful than a high end PC.
For example here I prefer the original asset because the stool with the hole looks better to me and so does the more roughly cut table. It looks like someone needed a table but didn't exactly have a full set of carpentry tools to smooth it out. Color also works better with the wood used for the building, implying that the wood came from the same nearby forest.

Mod:
I feel texture mods often miss things like consistency with other textures and also try to make everything as finely detailed and sharp as possible when the real world is not like that. Sometimes surfaces look dull, sometimes rock faces are angular and flat with barely any visible texture to them.
Don't worry, OP has probably said as much in the past.
I recall OP saying the graphics in the Witcher 3 looked like Fable.
e: here it is:
for the sake of completeness I'll also add my response to that:

This is complete BS. Sounds like you have never actually played with the textures.
Also, that video is a very small sample of all the work Halk has put into this.
So... can someone link me to that NFS thread? Because if it provides higher quality laughs than this one, I'll be impressed.
This is a great example of why, as a rule, I'm wary of any kind of retexture mod. A lot of thought goes into a game's art assets beyond simply what resolution they are.
Textures are definitely not the witcher's strength, neither is foliage, but I digress...In this generation however, we expect even our open world games to have decent texture work like; Primal, HZD, MGS5 etc...
Yup.

People need to stop acting like the entire mod is to be shunned because they don't like one texture. It's completely RIDICULOUS. The improvements he has made are 98% for the better and they stand out a ton.
Mod that takes one of the best looking games of all time with overall great texture work and improves upon it...OP deduces TW3 has shit textures.
I don't think that's true.Played like crap and too floaty, Gave it up pretty fast, The visuals was great, Horizon wipes the floor with it now though.
