He's like a green Ken doll down there... my head-canon of the crotch of a Namekian being another pink spot like on their arms is ruined.

Nothing about his inclusion has been thrown together or poorly explained, but I see that your dead set clinging to that narrative no matter what I say so I'll just drop it. I will say this though everything about his inclusion has changed the dynamic entirely compared to his last revival. Despite you wanting to believe otherwise.

He is now forced to work with his universe, and at the moment has the potential to get the gods to turn on one another when they are at their most vulnerable. That alone makes him a better choice than giving Buu one fan-service episode before they inevitably switch the focus back to the U7 Saiyans.

As for those side characters, they have been used before though both in ROF and plenty of movie specials, and the narrative hasn't done anything with them either. Which is why they are being underutilized to begin with since they don't have much to offer in the grand scheme of things.

Your entire point whatever it is falls apart when it can be applied to them far better than it does to Freeza.

The high points for RoF, in my opinion, were: nice battles, Gohan asking to train again with Piccolo, Universe 7 and 6 introduction, and SSB. While for the 1st arc, it was the introduction of Beerus and Whis and the return of the characters.

Desliked the fact that Freeza comes back just to get wrecked once again although he in fact was pretty damnn strong for 4 months training, and that the battle drags on a bit with this constant "I'll show my 100%; well, now I'm 100%; well, now I'm 100% I guess I played you". On the 1st arc I desliked the whole Super Sayajin God stuff, and that Goku almost destroys the entire universe in a fist fight against Beerus (and in RoF he is even stronger than before but his fight against Freeza using all his power does nothing... it was curious how they straight up ignored that, but I have to say that I prefer that way).

Now to the next arc! Which I believe is where Dragon Ball Super really begins!

Besides the little issues, I think the show is pretty nice. I'd say I'm considering it on par with what I remember from Buu's saga, that said I think it's doing great although not as good as the golden DBZ Freeza and Cell sagas.

Edit: Am trying not to read too much the thread discussions about the new episodes to avoid some spoilers. But sometimes I can't resist.

He looks weird. They also added a new version of Gohanks (Trunks Xeno and Gohan Xeno fusion).

You haven't recovered? How do you think I feel? Nothing in the frieza arc not even a few comments from frieza about the two look alikes that KILLED him , no tournament, sacred water bs,no involvement in a arc where your future self is involved/killed, no tournament AGAIN

Nah, no Gohan. And regarding Tenshinhan, it's an anime-only addition. The anime added Cell having cells from Tenshinhan in addition to the manga ones. Aside from the split form by Cell himself, the Cell Jrs also used the Kikoho against Gohan.

Never made sense when you think about it. It was just toriyama clearing the way for ol goku to be the only fighter left with vegeta getting the scraps

He wanted to do a "then everyone lived a happy normal life, except for Goku who continued on fighting" ending. I get that. It was the ending of the series at the time after all.

But now I think they should ignore it completely. Goten and Trunks don't work as slackers, they love fighting just like thier dads. They always fought together and reached SSJ on thier own. The "they're just kids" argument the show likes to throw is even more insulting given thier role in the Buu Saga, or Gohan's in everything before it really.

I still hope that with the push for more relevant characters they'll do something with them in the near future.

I think, ruining the pilaf gang in BOG with Goten and Trunks, in the Super version, was the worst crime.

They were great in BOG and then Toei completely butchered them. :/

And as you said, Frieza not commenting on Goten and Trunks being "mini goku and trunks".

It's unbelievable. Like, it just fucking writes itself and they couldn't do that.

AND THEY DID IT TWICE WITH THIS TOURNAMENT. They waited last second to go get 17 (giving us 0 interaction with him and any of the cast safe for Piccolo Krilin and 18), left Trunks and Goten there while Frieza came back... and that's it.

SMH
