To be fair, Goku is not even trying to save the world, he just wants to fight strong dudes.

So the next generation is supposed to be Earth's defenders lmao.

I'd like an arc where Goku is kind of doing his own thing in another universe/realm and other characters have to defend Earth.

Nothing about his inclusion has been thrown together or poorly explained, but I see that your dead set clinging to that narrative no matter what I say so I'll just drop it. I will say this though everything about his inclusion has changed the dynamic entirely compared to his last revival. Despite you wanting to believe otherwise.

He is now forced to work with his universe, and at the moment has the potential to get the gods to turn on one another when they are at their most vulnerable. That alone makes him a better choice than giving Buu one fan-service episode before they inevitably switch the focus back to the U7 Saiyans.

As for those side characters, they have been used before though both in ROF and plenty of movie specials, and the narrative hasn't done anything with them either. Which is why they are being underutilized to begin with since they don't have much to offer in the grand scheme of things.

Your entire point whatever it is falls apart when it can be applied to them far better than it does to Freeza.

I don't have to cling to anything, haha. Everyone except Goku thought bringing Frieza back is a bad idea, and one of the very first things Frieza does is try to jump to U9's team. If he does anything to screw over U7 then he was not a reasonable choice, and even Yamcha would have served the team better in that scenario because at least everyone knows he wont betray them.

This arc doesn't need Frieza to cause chaos, it already has the Zenos and the Grand Priest erasing countless lives. It has its villains and Frieza is just being tacked on.

The fact that you think the role the side characters got in RoF is good enough shows we're not going to get anywhere, you only want the Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza show.

Goku and vegeta need to be captured or something like damn

Surely if that was going to go anywhere they would have shown some of it by now?

I guess if people's speculation about the arc having an interruption or changing of setting they could go back to Earth to make the cliff hanger even worse, alongside the characters there sensing something bad might happen.

I saw ROF through the movie, did I missed something on the anime except the bad animation ? (though CGI was really bad on the movie)

No, go watch episode 28 of DB Super now, it takes place right after.

Frieza definitely mentioned that Trunks looked like the Saiyan that killed him in the RoF arc. Pretty sure he made a comment about Goten too.

Did he ?

I'm gonna take your word for it because I'm not gonna try to rewatch it.

In a sense that was Resurrection of F as both Goku and Vegeta were away leaving Earth with everyone else while it was attacked...

Gohan gets tortured by Freeza, Piccolo sacrifices himself to save Gohan's life (and is revived by the Namekian balls at the end) and Gohan decides that he needs to be in fighting shape because Goku and Vegeta might not always be there to save the day and he wants to be able to protect his family so he asks Piccolo to retrain him from the start.
That's pretty much the only important change.

Probably just some funny vegeta stuff ( if didn't watch the training eps) and them correcting the number of wishes the pilaf gang get, nothing major oh yeah ginyu came back

Yeah I remember the beginning of Super being good with little nods like that, and that was no exception. Frieza pointed it out when they unfused and even said something afterwards like "I'm gone for a little bit and you dirty sayains start to multiply"

Tagoma doesn't die and returns with a big power up and a really edgy personality, beating up everyone for a while. Goten and Trunks rush to help as Gotenks, and stun Tagoma with a crotch headbutt, but the fusion runs out before they really do anything to help and then they just hide until it's over. Ginyu takes over Tagoma's body and continues beating up everyone, until Gohan beats him by going SSJ, and then he's killed when Vegeta and Goku arrive.

Yeah, they need to be captured or incapacitated at some point. Simply being off-world ain't enough I guess, thanks to Instant Transmission lol. They need to purposely engineer such a scenario in-order to utilize the rest of the cast.

If they straight up told us Goten and Trunks were killed by the poachers off-screen when the team comes back, I'd be totally fine with that.

In fact that'd be rad.

Or simply have half the Z fighters captured or something and have goku have to hang with say goten, trunks, piccolo for an arc or something of that nature cuz o get it he's Mc gotta be involved somehow

They could just say Goku can't IT across different universes and bam

His limitations were already showing in the RoF arc.

On a related note, I think the ultimate arc idea would be something that involves multiple villains across multiple universes working towards some type of complete omniverse destruction or takeover, all with a short time limit until the villains win.

That would then require the Z-fighters to split up in order to take down the different villains before time runs out.

You can't get more epic or high-stakes than that, and it would allow for all the Z-fighters to chip in and do their part.

Send Goku to face off against one villain, Vegeta to another, Popo to another, etc.

I would like to see 17 Goten Trunks and Marron go on space adventures with Jaco now that they kind of connected all of them.

After time skip would be glorious. I guess 17's son could replace him in that team. But they probably need an adult to fix shit up at the end.

oh yeah you know what would be cool after the time skip? Trunks, a little copy of Goku and a girl in a spaceship having space adventures

maybe they are tourists in space? dragon ball great tourists

In 2 Saturdays I'll finally be able to watch Super's Latam dub! Can't wait!
No puedo esperar :'v It's gonna be exciting when they arrive to the newer arcs to see all the new talent. Pretty sure they have 17's voice actor secured with him already voicing Shin, so can't wait to see him in the ToP arc too <3

It's gonna suck without OG Roshi even if his new voice isn't bad at all.

Also the baseball episode without Barrero ):

Also Hinata Hyuuga's Latam VA has to be a lock for Kale. I just feel it.

Wasn't it just that he didn't feel like entering the tournament? That still works fine with current Gohan, he returned to training to protect his family.

There's a panel where he says he should have entered IIRC but never anything that suggests the current Gohan wouldn't work with EoZ.

So guys I vaguely remember someone redrawing the Vegito pages from the Super manga with way better paneling. I thought those were drawn by dragongarowLEE but I couldn't find them on his twitter. Can someone link them please?

Thinking about it they don't gotta change a darn thing character wise obviously goten and trunks get so tired of being left behind they give up fighting hence their attitudes towards the tournament in eoz

Well they're setting up SOMETHING for Trunks and Goten, they have to watch over the island for poachers now lmao

Well technically they're watching over the island while the tournament is taking place in a dimension where time outside of it doesn't flow so by when they return from the tournament just a few seconds will have passed, right?

They could run with that I suppose. They could take it the opposite way too, potentially. There's a Super manga bonus spread that came out the other day that had Gohan noticing no one called on him lately to help fight so he decided to start training in the gravity room to have the strength when needed. I kind of like it more than what the anime did in some respects.

Absolutely we will get adult Goten and Trunks someday.
All day baby!!
