Easily one of the most unrewarding games you can play. I have spent countless matches getting some of the best loot in the game and encountering NO ONE only to get gunned down by some cock sucking piece of shit camper from who the fuck knows where. 20 minutes down the fucking drain.

Dammit... so close to my first Solo Chicken Dinner. Feels like my heart is about to jump out of my chest.
Basically, for most of the round I don't see anyone. I jumped early and find a car right away and head off to the Northern side of the map to loot the shooting range up there. Got a level 3 helmet, and a tricked out Vector. Really, it was just the best luck with the circle I've had in a long time- I randomly decide to camp out in a house when there are maybe 25 people left and do the ol' First Aid kit bait trick, thinking somebody will surely come in this building, especially as the circle keeps closing in on it, dead center. I can hear gunfire and explosions going on around, but I haven't heard anyone open the doors to the building.
Circle finally gets about as small as its going to get with maybe 5 people left and I have to move. Hear a couple gunshots and now there are 3 people left. I've got to exit the building from the front door and I'm guessing somebody else is right across the street. Open the door and I can see the one guy running right for the circle, right out in the middle of the street- I shoot at him which causes him to run for cover, when I notice I'm getting shot from my left. I start shooting at a guy hidden prone by an abandoned car but just as I'm about to blast him with my shotgun, he kills me. Then he dies outside the playzone and the guy that was across the street wins. SO CLOSE.
I feel like if you're going in spending any amount of time looting, then you have to just play kind of conservative to make it pay off by at least having a good finishing position. Loot up early, get good loot and then try to get to the middle of the circle and camp. Or go in hot and just kill dudes early on and steal their loot.
I understand your feeling though- I can feel satisified with a given match even if I don't kill anyone if I feel like I did a good job just surviving. But it can feel like wasted time when you get all this great loot... only to get capped by somebody you never even see and never even have a chance to use any of the cool loot you just spent 20 minutes collecting.

Had some great games tonight heh... Duo round with 10 kills with a silenced SKS (6th place) and 2 wins in squad both with sks as main weapon. That weapon can be such a beast sometimes when you get in the flow.
Also got this recording that should be watched in slowmotion or frame by frame... pretty perfect grenade by that guy.

Easy fix for that, stop lootin, more shootin. People spend too much time looting all the time. You don't need more than body armor and an AR/SMG and some 90 rounds. Anything more than that is just gravy and is best stolen from dead people anyway.

Fuck. I got second place and only that because it was up to me to take out the number three guy while number one guy hung out in a ditch. I was down to the last of my health so he got it pretty easy.

These are all things you can change, and is more about your playstyle than the game itself. Hit up the military or school and I'm sure you'll encounter quite a lot of people.

It's honestly dependent on your playstyle.
If you want instant action, just land on the school and you'll either die in the first minute or come out with good loot and 3+ kills.
Drop on the hotzones like the military zone or the school, then you will have no issue finding people.
The longer the game goes on the more damage it does per tick. First 2 blue collapses aren't bad, after that it's worrisome. Toward the end of the game you don't want to be in it at all.
Yep. Every circle it gets worse.
If you land far away from others, yeah. In the last game I was just talking about, I only had one kill the majority of the game. I landed in my fav spot, away from others, though.

Yeah it gets stronger each circle, and gets stronger once it stops at its destination as well.

The first two circles you can easily tank (especially the first one) if you have means of getting to the zone easily. You can incrementally heal over time if you use the boost items (energy drinks and painkillers, there's a third max boost item but it's super rare and only appears in the care packages dropped from planes). Boost items are also the only way other than a full restore med kit to heal that last 1/4th of your health bar if you're hurt beyond that.
If your boost is over halfway (it's the bar above the health meter) then you'll actually run faster. You'll also run faster if your gun is away (pressing X) or you're carrying a pistol.
The last few circles are no joke and should not be toyed with. Your health bar can be drained in half a minute.
That's actually my problem with it. I feel like it dumps bullets too quickly, I can never get a handle on it's spray before I run out and the person I was shooting is still alive.
I'll almost always take the UMP or Vector above the Uzi if I can help it.
Is this confirmed? My friend and I tested this (him with both guns holstered, I had my AR out) and we ran side by side and he didn't run any faster than me.

Unless it was silently changed recently, it was confirmed by tests. It's like a 5% difference in speed, which might not have been noticeable but it can make a difference in a long run.

Agreed. I always take it over a shotgun, cuts fools in half and is more forgiving when the servers aren't crispy.
Hmm...we ran a long distance to get into the circle. I had a head start and he never caught up to me, or gained any ground at least. So I thought it may have been true in earlier builds but not the current ones.

I really like the UMP too but the last two games that Uzi saved me in close quarters. The only time to really use it is in a house or around one but damn its effective there if you can aim for the body. I'm not a huge Vector fan unless I have an extended clip.
I agree. Fuck shotguns in this game. Useful for maybe 5 minutes of a match.

The Uzi is super good in houses but nowhere else.
The Vector used to be incredible until it got nerfed, but it can still do good work if you have an extended mag and the tac stock.
The UMP used to be godlike until they nerfed it a bit, but it's still super good in its versatility.
Do not fucking sleep on shotguns. Yes, if the server is having issues it's a crapshoot. Yes, the Saiga is trash due to its recoil. But the pump action is actually fucking great at clearing. It's the best at peeking. It's the best close quarter gun. A choked shot that lands all of its pellets at close range will shred anything in a single blast when even a spray from an AR would take more time.

I honestly hate the Vector, only weapon that makes me potato like 95% of my shots. Ill take the Uzi, Glock, or UMP any day. UMP is my smg of choice.
Give me a UMP and a M16 with compensator/acog and Im set. Im also quite fond of the AK, Ill take a AK or M16 over an SKS for long range engagements any day. Only got to use the Groza once but damn does that thing melt people close range.
I hate shotguns, Im not denying they are good but like the vector Ill fail, and Im okay with that. I did start taking a Beretta with a suppressor for taking out vehicles after watching Sacriel quite a bit.
Ive learned quite a bit from streamers, I watch Nick28T almost daily, but have learned the most from Vic and Tobias.
Also posted this in the GOTY thread but I finally broke the 600m kill. 610m with a AWM

The Vector is prob my least favorite.. I like the UIMP for an SMG. Otherwise, I want an assault rifle and a sniper rifle with scopes.

The majority of the time I prefer the M16/AK with an 8x to a real sniper rifle. My dream loadout is a M16 for longer range and a AK for close range. Holo on the AK and a 8x on M16 with a ACOG/4x in my bag for the end of the match and preferably suppressed.

I won't even pick up shotguns anymore except as a last resort. I can have the reticle surrounded by somebody's body who is oh, say, 10ft in front of me and have every single pellet miss. Doesn't matter if it is lag, desync, whatever, just not reliable which means I'd rather have something with a higher RoF so if the gremlins eat a shot or two the rest finish the job.
That's not bad way to go. If I can't find a Kar or SKS, I'll try for that. I think I do prefer sniper rifles for long ranges, though. If I can't find one, I usually get 2 assault rifles, like you said, one for short range and one for long range.

How many "hit" points did you get after? A full 20 is full health
So drop in highly contested areas and hope to the gods that the game doesn't hiccup (as it normally does)? Doesn't seem to be a good strategy.
Better yet, I can get to some guns before anyone else only to mash the F key and not pick the fucking thing up.

It is a good strategy. The game hiccups for about 20 seconds, it isn't unplayable unless something is wrong with your connection or PC.
Mashing the F key does not help. You just have to be over the item and tap it once, or even better use Tab and quickly drag it over.
I've no connection issues and my PC is above par. I mash F because pressing it once doesn't work for shit, regardless of seeing the animation.
I just died because my gun literally stopped firing as I had 25 more rounds of an extended mag assault rifle on full auto. I fucking hate this game sometimes
Edit: just died again because someone rubberbanded in front of me with a shotgun. This game is not playing the same at all. I was getting chicken dinners several times a day and now I can't make it past 10 minutes

The only reason other than connection issues you would not pick it up is if you were running while looting, which is being fixed tomorrow.
The game isn't perfect, but if people are giving you playstyle advice and your response is to shout that it's impossible, that's purely a mindset problem.
