Not like Sonic's above releasing boxed editions with no physical game inside

Got my Famicom style box. It's taller than my rockman box so it doesn't fit in with my collection. Also the instruction booklet doesn't fit in the box as others have mentioned. So it just has to kind of lie in the drawer separately in two parts

So we have the following items as released/shipped:

Game
T-Shirt
Plush
US Box
JP Box
US Manual
JP Manual

Is this the current list of items we have yet to see?

Digital Instruction Manual
Digital Art Book
Digital Soundtrack
Physical Art Book
Signed Hardcover Art Book
US USB Key
JP USB Key
Signed Sketch
3D Printed Mighty Boss Model
A digital Art Book and a digital Strategy Guide have been released, but I don't know about any of the other rewards, besides the game itself and its DLC.

Edit: Looked it up and the digital soundtrack has been given away too.

at what point should that have to be promised? No one has ever had to make this claim ever because it's never been an issue and I can only imagine never would be again. even Lunar's big hardcover manual fit in the same box as the game. Decency shouldn't have to be promised.

I was wrong. It was promised to fit in the box and it should have. That was a fangamer mistake per the post above. So people will be getting replacements that fit into the Famicom box.

You will be getting a new manual that fits the box later per fangamer.

This is honestly not funny anymore. Backers should start some sort of legal action or something because this shit is simply unnaceptable. Just wow...

They should sue because of a printing mistake that is being corrected?

Has anyone figured out what actually happened with Mighty #9? How did it end up like this? Is it just straight fraud, or was there some kind of development trouble?

It's definitely strange since Inti Creates made one of the best Mega Man mainline games and continued making amazing games after MN9. Something awful happened during development.

Seriously, what the actual fuck happened to the game?

A showcase demo that took them only 7 days now look like a fucking remake compare to the final product

They had to port it to EVERYTHING which kinda crippled the game. If it would have been a PC/PS4/XBO game it probably would have had a shorter dev time and looked a lot better too

Engine switch to Unity, which shouldn't have made things harder but then they had to port it to EVERYTHING which kinda crippled the game. If it would have been a PC/PS4/XBO game it probably would have had a shorter dev time and looked a lot better too

It's still UE3, they show the splash screen for it on startup.

Greatest scam of all time.
For the 20th time: we knew it was an empty box from the start. It's right there in the Kickstarter campaign. MN9 got a lot of shit wrong but deceiving us with an empty box wasn't one of them since it was always the case. The manual not fitting is an entirely different matter though.

They had stretch goals that required them to port the game to toasters.

The same thing that delays and destroys a lot of KS game projects.

STRETCH GOALS.

I see...

Fuck, I hope Bloodstained doens't suffer from the same fate : (

Huh. Well this is at least a tiny bit good.

Hi! If you’re reading this, we shipped you a Japanese Mighty No. 9 instruction manual that was printed at the wrong size and, as a result, doesn’t fit into the Japanese box.
We’re reprinting the manuals at the correct size, and as soon as they arrive we’ll be shipping you a corrected manual. No action is required on your part.
We apologize for the mistake; if you have any other questions about your physical backer rewards, e-mail orders@fangamer.com.

Man this kickstarter was worth it just for all the BS that has happened after, best comedy in gaming in years.

I still think its fair for some to be weary of kickstarter even if you list all of its successes.

This game is definitely a huge black mark on crowdfunding whether you liked it or not.

Well, yeah. No one sensible would suggest blindly handing over money to campaigns, there was a pretty comprehensive thread or post about what to check for but it includes things like watching for gameplay trailers and screenshots rather than just concept art, researching who is making the game and their history of making projects, paying attention to campaign breakdowns to know where the money is going, seeing if the goal funds and release timeframe is even realistic, etc. Be cautious and realistic, or just bookmark things that are interesting and track them to buy upon release if they turn out good. Basically everyone should be weary, to the extent that you do research and only give what you're comfortable potentially losing.

Obviously people can still get gypped and even if something is released there's no guarantee it'll actually be good. But even with my bad experiences (this not being one of them, luckily for me ww) on KS I still think it's a positive thing. A lot of games wouldn't have gotten made if not for it.

People blame the "lower end" versions of this game for its failure(s), but we don't even know if those versions exist.

Just saw the email in my inbox saying that they're going to reprint the Japanese manual to fit inside the box. I laughed, but then I remembered past-me still spent $60 on this thing...
