Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

St.mk isn't a problem. It's that everything else she does is overwhelming to the point you are start stressing over the st.mk.

I've taking a game from Idom before because I caught him spamming St.mk.

But then he starts doing the things that make people hate Laura.

Is she going to press jab after a light bolt charge for a loop or is going to c.throw? Or is she's going to bait a jump with a regular throw and do her st.mp or H bolt charge AA?

Is she going to v-skill dash for a c.throw or is she going to do her v-skill CC after a block string?

What is she going to do on knockdown or a blocked EX fireball?

It's things like these is why the game needs invincible backdashes.

amazing

For some reason, this makes me feel really good '-)

It like, ok...I'm not the only one that loses to this stuff! lol

I try to check that spam early though, -2, but it's a weird -2 that you really have to be watching for and use a quick button.

Also, I think Count said he talked to Du and asked about Ibuki. When he said even Du told him "you have to commit to what side you're blocking on before you land, there's no reaction" also made me feel good.

Losing to stuff like that can really damage your confidence in a competitive game. So when Pro players confirm, yeah, it's a guess, I actually don't mind when I don't overcome it at times in matches.

Yea it's nice to see that even the best player in the world can struggle with the same shit that any other regular player struggles with. SFV is truly a great game for closing that gap.

yep, there's no secret sauce in blocking certain things in this game. Just commit to whatever your first instinct is and pray that it works out.

Also, I'd like to point out that iDom has gotten washed by Punk several times before finally being able to beat him now. Every NLBC Punk showed up at, iDom lost. Last weeks NLBC was the closest he ever was to beating Punk. iDom was finally able to conquer his demon and yall just wanna complain about his character smh.

what im trying to say is nerf karin tbh

that -2 button tho

even the player with the best reactions in the league still gets trolled on. SFV truly is a great game. It reminds me of S1 Mika's using st.MP over and over even though it's -2 but people just let it rock lol even in S2.

While it is similar to what Punk did to Danslip in losers finals, by using st.HK like 6 times. You really can't actively whiff punish that st.HK because of how her hurtbox doesn't stick out too far + trying to counter poke it with a medium button is just gonna get you CC'd, he's also buffering an ex DP if he jumps lol. Just do it

So Punk likes to taunt when winning and refuses to shake hands when he loses? Edit: after a second watch, maybe he shook hands below the table.

Has that Laura player ever been disrespectful to Punk before?

Brobzoid

how do I slip unnoticed out of a gloryhole booth?
Awesome guys - thank you for all the feedback and help. Sincerely appreciate it.

One thing I would add to what everyone else been saying is Kayin's blogpost on improving your reactions (you can find it here). It's a really good write-up on how to approach any fighting game at a very basic level, it helped me a lot.

(Kayin is the developer who made I Wanna Be The Guy, btw)

The funny thing is Karin does need some nerfs

She does have the best corner throw loop in the game. But I didn't see Punk utilizing the Cr,MP after throws which stuffs backdashes and 3f buttons and IDom caught on to that.

Throw loops should be nerfed for all charecter like what Capcom was suppose to do but didn't.

And then there's that Tenko reset.

This is coming from someone who plays Nash and work to keep someone in the corner and then plays Karin and the only thing I have to worry is if someone calls me in the middle of the match.

Don't let Laura's win distract y'all from the real problem that is Balrog

Balrog you say?

nah, Punk has dunked on him several times before this and it's his first time losing to iDom at a tournament as far as I know.

see someone understands

Why wait for riot when there are a fuckton of other fighting games out right this moment?
Let's break them down into three categories.

I can play this online with no issues:
  • Street Fighter V
  • Killer Instinct
  • Tekken 7
  • Injustice 2
  • Smash
I can play this online but only with the community:

  • Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2
  • King of Fighters XIV
  • Dead or Alive 5
  • Ultra Street Fighter IV
  • Fightcade games
  • UMvC3
  • Skullgirls

I can play this if I live in Japan:

  • BlazBlue
  • UNIEL
  • Weeb shit

Is virtua figher honest?
I would say yes but then I think of Akira combos and how much life they take and I think that can't be right.

Though VF is arguably the most honest fighter out there, short of delving into games like Divekick or that weird indie game with Yomi counters.

Those Akira combos are usually super specific spacing/timing and wall dependent.

He's definitely strong.

VF is about as honest as they come.

Marvel

could never
Never played VF, but it looks pretty cool. Maybe one day there be either a new one or a re-master so I can play on my PS4.

Do you think 5 frames is bad on a normal like that? lol

The move is good, as it should be.

Laura, like all characters is allowed to have good moves.

But, your opponent can't spam a -2, 5 frame move unless you let them.

Put the blame where it belongs. Not on the game. On Punk.

If Dieminion spent all his time blaming the game, he wouldn't have been top 8 with F.A.N.G. beating the hell out of Necallis.

I wish the rank filter was disabled when searching for casual games. I dont are whether Im matched against a Bronze or a Master there. It takes too long to find games with the filter on.

Some people won't be happy until she's out of the game. I can't take Laura haters seriously most of the time. They want her to be as trash as possible so they don't have to struggle when they come across a competent Laura player on CFN.

Making a gif of Punk being punked says as much about the character as making a gif of Wolfkrone and Strider getting freed up.

I don't think that Laura's stMK needs to be nerfed as such, but I wish that the blockstun did not feel so deceptive. It's the only negative-on-block normal that I can think of off the top of my head, where I have to practice taking my turn as opposed to being able to do so intuitively during a match.

My first Ranked set of the day (Abigail vs. Guile). The game insists on giving me bad MUs when I play this guy; I uploaded this one because I felt it was fun. The frustration of trying to get in is palpable, as is the catharsis of finally doing so.

I never paid much mind to the pushback of Guile's blocked Sonic Booms until I started playing Abigail, where how problematic it is is REALLY felt. It's pretty crazy, actually.

lol, I'd play the shit out of VF if I could. But no one plays it. A few EVOs ago, sega did that 256 player tourney and I did pretty good. I put 2 weeks into the game and I had a few old heads from the VF scene tell me at Wednesday night fights that I was a natural at the game.

Learning VF that two weeks before that EVO seriously was some of the most fun I ever had playing video games. For years I'd hear people say VF was the best, they weren't fucking kidding. Shit just flows.

And that "hold the button you want to come out immediately after your block stun is over" was just fucking amazing.

Oh, and dandy j's 2 hour tutorial was the FUCKING SHIT.
