Persona Community Thread |OT9| SPOILER TAGS OR DIE

Wonder what Atlus USA's reaction was to learning those game titles though, no chance they stay like that for the localisation.

I think it will probably be the same.

Also we are all expecting a bundle right? These better not be two fully priced $60 games on PS4.

If they don't keep the exact names, I hope they at least keep the same title structure (Persona X: Dancing ________ Night). I like that it makes it seem like a coherent, relevant trilogy when it's just a bunch of dumb fun spinoffs.

If there is a bundle, I bet it'll be $120 with DLC on top.

That is to say, I'm not expecting any real breaks cost wise. These two will be expensive.

Just got back from my flight.

My god. It finally happened. PERSONA 3 DANCING.

Now only if I can get Persona 3 Platinum

I'm expecting there to be some sort of bundle but I expect it to be a special edition or something. I'm fully prepared for them to each be full priced games, though I'm more than happy to be totally wrong.

Anyone who hasn't beaten P3 should stay away from the thread for the dancing games or risk being spoiled to hell and back.

*Anyone who didn't watch the opening movie of P3 and understand the meaning of the phrase
Memento mori

If Atlus is OK keeping the title Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Soul Hackers, I think they'll be just fine with the dancing names.

On the P5 front: Finally at last boss.
Man, I actually ran out of SP on the fight before this. Low on items too, hopefully i can clear this with some to spare.

Blew most of the rest of my money trying to fuse some higher level stuff, hopefully i have enough umph to clear the boss. At just over 102 hours, it's been a long road, but i'm looking forward to completing my first persona game.

Despite, you know, owning P2, p3FES, p4g and p5.

Is the PSP port of Persona 1 worth playing, or has it aged poorly?

The UI has been given a complete overhaul in the PSP version, which solves one of the biggest issues with the original game. The gameplay was rebalanced a bit too. However, if you're allergic to 1996 era RPG gameplay, then it might not hold up that well? Personally, I think it holds up pretty well compared to some other PS1 era RPGs, but it's still a little bit clunky.

P5D|OT| Let's (not) Dance (that today)

P5D|OT| Beneath the Stars

P5D|OT| Wake Up, Get up, Get out, Dance!

P3's can't not be the memento mori one.

So hey PersonaGaf my account finally got verified! Nice to meet you all.

Really interested to see how they handle the dancing games as I quite enjoyed P4D.

Hey, welcome Star Orpheus!

What are some tracks you guys are hoping to hear remixed from either Dancing game?

As far as P3D goes, I'd like to hear some more P3P songs such as Time, Way of Life -Deep inside my mind remix-, and Soul Drive. I think this one is an obvious choice, but I also hope we get the P3 FES opening song.

As far as P5 goes, I think I'd like to hear some sort of remix for The Days When My Mother Was There or Layer Cake.

I found it aged pretty well but coming off P4G it was rough! I gave up after a couple hours. I've put it on hold for now
indefinitely
.

I can't get enough Persona dancing games. I double dipped on P4D because I couldn't wait for the translation xD.

Really hope it includes music from P3P so songs like Danger Zone and Wiping All Out can be included. For P5 I think Rivers in the Desert is the easy choice but I'd love to hear that remixed.

Good choices! I'd love to see what comes of Deep Breath, Deep Breath as well. Love the version on the Persona 3 Reincarnation album.

Changing Seasons is a really good pick I didn't even think about. Thinking about it, I would imagine with the hip hop vibe of P3, it's prime for remixing. I loved the P4D tracks, but I found some worked a lot better than others.

Also I hate myself for thinking P2D could ever be a thing, but I can't help myself for wishing to see Lisa in her idol outfit performing Joker in this engine haha.

Hey Star Orpheus.

For P3D I'd love for pretty much all the songs added in P3P to get remixes since all those songs are fantastic. Outside of Portable I'd also want Iwatodai Dorm, Paulownia Mall, When the Moon's Reaching Out Stars and A Deep Mentality.

P5D I'd probably pick Layer Cake, Price, Life Goes On, the final boss theme and then the Memento's theme.

The Mementos track is a good choice in the sense that they'd need to compose an entirely new song around it for it to work.

So how does one make stories of dancing in these two games?

Mind you that Persona 4 had it easy with the navigator being an idol, but I'm not entirely sure how you go along with doing it for 3 & 5. At least with how 5 ended, you could easily say something in terms of
while driving the P5 Protag home, they got pulled into some kind of cognition that forces them to dance their way to freedom
or something like that.

The thing I'm struggling on though is what would be done for Persona 3 with the whole "
P3 Protagonist out of commission
" issue. Not to say it is impossible, but it will be fun to see how they work around that.

Someone on tumblr pointed out that there's a pattern that looks like circuitry on the 3 on the website. That and the weird visual effect in the trailer when protag puts on his headphones. Virtual reality could be a convenient excuse for the characters looking younger plus
getting protag and Shinjiro in the game.

Exactly, P5D is a chance for them to fix that song so I have to hope it'll happen.

Easy, you don't even bother. I'm really hoping that they're just focusing on making a good rhythm game this time around and avoiding including any story, thankfully the trailers for both games give the impression that they're doing that.

The lyrics we have from the openings might hint at the story direction they want to go with both of the games. From what I can tell, the opening theme for P3D starts with, "Our luck has ended, *something something* dreaming."

I'm like 95% sure it's "How long has it been, I hope I'm not dreaming".

What if they don't have a story?

I would be more with okay with that. Def expressed interest in that before in this thread. The story in P4D was fun and I enjoyed the ride, but it didn't make or break the game for me.

While it wasn't a super well crafted rhythm game, hearing my favorite tracks remixed, seeing all my favorite characters dancing in HD, messing with the outfits, and trying to perfect songs on the hardest difficulty was the best part of it for me.

I would be shocked if it didn't have a story though.

I was thinking: I think it's possible P3D and P5D will be on the same disc on PS4, and just seperate on Vita.

It'd be odd for them to be going out of their way to make them seem like individual games at the moment in that case though. Especially since that would only apply for physical Vita copies, assuming they didn't want to include a download code for the other half.

I would argue putting out two full titles both weighing in at like 5GB each on the same day is just as crazy.

I won't argue against that. No matter which way they end up putting them out it's going to end up being a little crazy, I'm just preparing myself for the worst while also hoping that I'm wrong.
