As much as I'd like for them to announce the return of PSS, US/UM will likely have to be compatible with S/M's online. Ah well.

I mentioned in the OT while plaza will likely be staying, a way to make it infintely much less cumbersome is to allow the communications to be used without having to load up the plaza itself.
I kind of have a feeling that they won't though. The PSS as far as I remember, was just put into ORAS with no changes. I think the last time they dramtically changed communication settings in the same generation was in gen 3 with the wireless adapter/union room.

Im not confident Game Freak is making a competent sequel/3rd version type game this time around.
Maybe an expanded Battle Tree or something.
I don't know I'm just not confident about it.

Finally some news.
I don't expect anything else other than the new Lycanroc form however, would love to be wrong though.
I really hope we get new Alola forms and maybe even megas, always felt like they would make great additions as "new pokémon" in mid gen titles without actually being new pokémon, not holding my breath on that though.

Black 2 and White 2 followed a similar information schedule with a February reveal followed by no real game information until around April despite having a June release in Japan.

Lol I keep saying this but people have short memories it seems. Especially since a lot of people put BW2 on a pedestal. We had nothing on those games for two months and then they were released another two months after that.
Though Game Freak weren't really clear about US/UM in the first place.

A fair point. I think another reason people aren't so optimistic about US/UM is because of Gamefreak's (Masuda's?) stance on postgame content, specifically the battle facilities and lack thereof. Emerald and Platinum had the Frontier, BW2 had the World Tournament but from the looks of things USUM won't have an equivalent. Hope I'm wrong though!

In Sun I intentionally made myself use new things, so I've somewhat limited myself in battle. In Moon I'm going for glory.
Is that a legit method then? Never tried that in a game.

Yeah I remember that comment from Masuda. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he said that to save face for them not being able to add the Battle Frontier on time. He was pretty wishy-washy with his statements about releasing Pokemon games on Switch up to a month or two before E3.
Masuda's kind of taken a backseat as of Sun/Moon anyway. He's said that he won't be directing games anymore and will stay as a producer.

S/M is a bit harder than the previous gen so you will need to have reserves of X-items and revives, but it's doable. I guess exp share can mitigate over reliance.
