I think Flyfish would be fine if only the window to attack it wasn't so short. Most of the time it requires more time investment (and bombs) to kill than any other boss. Plus it has a powerful attack. If the lids were open for longer it would be balanced a bit better with the other bosses without making it trivial.

They'll super jump when you get splatted so they get splatted as soon as they land putting the whole team back to the spawn, allowing the other team to win by 70%+.

Like... there is something to be said for engaging people and drawing them away from the rainmaker carrier, but at some point if I have killed someone with it in a stand off, they have respawned and are back to attack me again... me team should have swarmed to me.

If we are ahead, its also less of a problem, but if we are behind, good god, all hands on deck until we take the lead.

There needs to be a boot function for rainmaker

I've just had a match of 4 v 3 and even though we had 1 more my 2 teammates wete fucking shit, one of them took the rainmaker back to our base and fucking lost i, they pick it up to get within 16, then neither of them would follow when I had it meaning it was me v 3 and we lost on time.

I guess it's ok in TC and RM but most of the time didn't get the point in SZ to be honest.

I went 15/8 with it last night in Splat Zones. 7/4 on Starfish Mainstage, 7/4 on Moray Towers, and a single win on Port Mackerel.

Seems really good for Splat Zones, honestly. Good coverage, plus the whole kit is amazing for claiming large amounts of turf and zoning.

Now I've had 2 games on a team that was winning and in the last 20 seconds for them all to try and push forward and let the rainmaker slip by leaving me v the rainmaker +1

Fucking mode

Sometimes I read posts about Salmon Run with words like "mothership" "high tide" "fireflies" and get intensely curious about that mode. But then I keep playing turf wars and ranked because I have a team PvP addiction which cannot yet be quenched...

Should have shot it while still approaching. A stingray user or an inkjet user couldmake things easier.

Yeah, it's better to use the specials than not. Even at profreshional people hold them until it's too late. And while we currently don't have a charger weapon in this rotation, they're great for not only knocking back the mothership but shooting its spawn to get the eggs. You won't be able to shoot them all down, but it will definitely help keep things under control.

You're really missing out. The rewards are excellent and don't require much time once you get up in the higher pay grades.

Some of the waves are quite a bit away from the norm, to put it mildly.

It has come to a point where I can't even play a single game without being disconnected. I don't want to play docked so I guess I'm fucked.

I'm loving Salmon Run. Any word on what sort of updates it might get?

Strangely I'm not enjoying the sp as much as the first game, even thought it's been expanded. Levels feel too long maybe? Or I'm just not as into it at the moment

Ok ok I swear I will try Salmon Run in the near future! Probably before I buy real life Splatoon merch/clothing which at this rate is also only a matter of time :)

I finally made it to B- and stupidly thought players would be better

1st and 1 sits on the start point all game with a charger and the other 2 don't do for the rainmaker after I've killed the entire team whilst dying myself

Honestly how can people be that stupid

I wouldn't mind if I was playing like shit too, but almost 30 kills, and making a break to get the rainmaker to within 20 on my own just makes it grate even more.

Trying to work my way back up to Profreshional...its pretty tough with these randoms that panic with Grillers & Glow Fish.
Edit: Oh and rage quitters...back to back.

I love how when you have a really strong run of Salmon Run, but at the end everything goes fucking Bananas like it sometimes does, and you Wipe.

Then at the Results screen, The Grizzco Bear's all like. You ONLY got 65!? What Happened?

...

:p

Matchmaking's being a real bitch right now. Getting a bunch of people DCing mid-match, and a couple of 3v4 games just from the get go. Think I'm going to stick to Salmon Run and working towards some hero weapons until whatever's going on sorts itself out.

Or until people get Brella-mania out of their systems and I stop seeing 5+ of them per match. Either/or is fine.\

As someone that hasn't hit the level required to unlock the Dapple Dualies, what's the benefit of them. I've gotten them a couple of times in Salmon Run, but the range seems so shitty even compared to the normal dualies. Do they just do more damage? Also, would it kill them to stop giving us the Carbon Roller? I'm tired of rolling into normal Salmonid and not OHKOing them.

Id say C and B are pretty similar, although more C players play ranked like it's turf war. Still happens in B very frequently due to players ranking up directly to B from C, some of them undeservedly.

A is where they have a general idea of what to do, but you still see a ton of clueless idiots dying over and over without accomplishing anything.

S is where you gradually blame your teammates less and you won't be forced to carry the game to win.

I still would also like to know if others can hear the "Sounds" you make on the Lobby screen by pressing the buttons on the controller while it's finishing setting up matchmaking.

This game NEEDS to take into account when someone drops out we don't get punished for it. I hate when we only have 3 people and we still lose our rank.

Did they make Salmon Run easier?
I was stuck in around 40 in Professional, but today I had a winning streak and went to 215% pay grade.
The rounds feel a lot easier.

Why does nobody run eggs back in that new “bust a pipe” salmon mode run? Every team I’ve played with just keeps trying to find the Goldie instead of running back 4 eggs then searching again.

Yeah, this is the worst. You sit there guarding a bunch of eggs spamming "this way!", but no one cares about the eggs for some reason. You can't leave them alone because the blue salmon only grab one egg before running off, so they'll all be gone by the time I get back if I run off to deposit my egg.

I just had the two most polar opposite Salmon Runs. First one, someone disconnects at the start. No big deal as it scales the difficulty. But then one of my teammates got in the water and after I revived them they jumped right back in the water on purpose and kept doing so for the rest of the run. We didn't last long.

Next round? We start with glowflies. Everybody stays together at the basket and we get 35 eggs in one round. Next two rounds are low tide with 20-25 eggs each for a total of 83 eggs for 170+ points. None of my teams ever cracked 70 before!

It's okay to let eggs get taken. In my experience, whatever the quota is roughly -- if not exactly -- matches how many bosses you're gonna end up killing over the course of a single standard wave. i.e. You could let two eggs get taken away for every boss that's killed and still hit the quota. I've had waves where we nearly tripled the quota, so I'm pretty confident in saying that.

What's not okay is having the Charger or Splatling on the wrong end of the universe guarding two eggs when the rest of the team is busy dealing with multiple Steelheads bocking their way to the Flyfish that's got a lock on the entire team.

In goldie in the pipe round, people should really focus on putting the eggs in the basket first.
