Sure, but that's not what I was going after. Read the article! The guy goes on to just shit on anyone who has a bit of fame and decides to paint. Apparently musicians are free of any criticism as well.

It's just one of the worst articles I've ever read. Like look at this:

Like, what the hell? That doesn't make any sense at all, lol. I don't think Mr. Carrey is trying to become a huge Andy Warhol type figure. He just made a neat little video to show off something he's been doing in his free time for a long time, it seems. I just don't like the authors vibe.

I hope the premium news is the return of Unplugged as a regular feature (I'm enjoying Easy Allies' non-videogame content). Failing that, 'Monster Hunter Mondays'.

Side note: Seeing all this PUBG stuff with people wearing random gear in abandoned environments makes me miss Devil's Third. The movement mechanics, combination of shooting with melee, and ridiculous modes made it one of my favourite online games ever.
I wonder what it would have been like with a battle royale mode.

Shady stuff indeed. I saw no mention of episodes when I watched the QL so, this sucks but anyways, gives me more reason to not get the game and probably get it next year or something.

I was about to link you the documentary until I found out it was posted in the article. I thought it was a beautiful and wonderful short about escapism. While I don't agree with Carrey's stance on vaccination, I do agree on his views with art or getting lost into something you love without a worry in the world.

Are all the episodes of Vinny playing Castlevania titled "VinnyVania" on the site? Just want to make sure I don't miss any bonus parts that might have been during a live show/Big Live Live/Extra Life/Friday show etc...

Never gonna disagree with you about Hotline Miami OSTs; those aren't part of the "over"representation.

A better way for me to say it would be that more traditional OSTs, be it orchestral or mixed-genre or whatever, have been underrepresented because GB loves a good dirty low-bitrate drop. I totally do too, but not to the excess of not putting fucking Journey and Ori on a GotY list.

Oh man, Bequest added badly translated notes, this is wonderful.

...which reminds me that Beast really needs to play Arctic Alive, an amazingly weird/bad horror game with some fantastic badly translated notes. Which was made in Blender. And, importantly, can be opened in Blender, such that you can easily directly edit the python source code.

(Me showing that game to friends and then us realizing we could directly fuck with the source code led to what's one of my favorite nights with people like... ever.)

EDIT: Also it's weird as hell to have watched that QL last night and see what Bequest looks like months later in the Megadate now.

Made the mistake of looking at the comments on the latest Beastcast and man, people sure love telling Abby her opinion doesn't count in regards to Bayonetta. Yeesh. :/

Re: Steam curation - There's always room for improvement. I think the front page of Steam's store front is much better than it used to be, but if you go beyond that there's a lot left to be desired. So much of discovery relies on their tagging system which is pretty wonky, and they added the curator feature which still feels half baked.

All the various game storefronts need work, of course, but Steam fans are quick to jump on you if you dare mention anything that requires Valve to do more work. Obviously just throwing money at a problem isn't the solution. But it wouldn't hurt for them to hire some people to work on curation, or pay people to translate instead of relying on volunteers, or get more people to work on customer service.

I'm... so confused about what they did to Bequest.

Like based on the QL it wasn't great, but it was largely coherent and the jump scares happened enough to keep things scary despite being super cheap.

Now it's just... confusing wandering around and cutting to black when you press E? Or something?

EDIT: Ahahahaha holy shit, the original Bequest is now DLC for this??

Man, No Man's Sky is finally getting the praise it deserved since the first content update and it makes me so happy. It's a friggin' awesome survival game now with some of the most gorgeous use of color ever used in a video game. Check it:

The fact that the game generated everything in that picture and it all looks handmade (the placement not the assets) is so ridiculously impressive

Also have to think about the freedom you have in the game. Like, you all know that you can just hop in your ship and fly directly at the planet in the sky. It's not just some pretty skybox , it's a real, physical thing.

I can go on and on, ahhhhhh! I really recommend looking up some GDC talks and other shows with people like Innes McKendrick or Sean Murray talking.
