Celebrate a 30th anniversary with 4 costumes from characters with little relation to each other? O... Ok

I guess since this is the anniversary of SF1 technically they could have released a Nostalgia costume for Ryu where he has red hair and slippers. I don't think anyone actually wants that, though.

Capcom announces SF 30th anniversary costumes for Street fighter V.
Said costumes have nothing at all to do with Street fighter.

You'd think the original world warriors would each get a costume. Or that the costumes would be themed to alternate designs that were passed over to get what we had today.

Well, if anything, maybe there's another batch that'll be revealed later. Should be some fun color variations with these outfits.
I expected something more ...celebrative of the 30th anniversary of the franchise
Hopefully we'll get either a Menat reveal, the Anniversary Collection's official reveal, or both at Gamescom. We're already getting 30,000 FM for free in honor of the anniversary.

They did that for Ryu in MvC3 and it actually looked really good. =P

Anyway these are nice but none interest me enough to buy.

Like his American Flag tattoo, Guile's eyepatch is mirrored on both sides of his body for the sake of symmetry.

Guile's tats aren't mirrored anymore. I don't think they were in SF4 either. Similarly, Sagat's eyepach appears on the correct eye no matter which direction he's facing in SF4. Vega's claw is still always on the arm nearest to the camera though, for gameplay reasons.

Guile hasn't looked right in any modern SF game IMO, a shame as he looked badass in the SF1 days.
Guile looks just fine in SFV. I don't see the problem.

Also, did you mean SFII? Guile wasn't in the first SF game.

Thought they finally gave something esports friendly to Cammy. Hell did not freeze over
They already did (her CPT costume).

Let's hope they announce 4 more next week, I need a SF 30th Anniversary outfit for Juri.

She absolutely doesn't have enough outfits.

Cool costumes. Seems they are going to be released the same day of the 30000FM give away, aren't they?

Let's hope they also release the Arcade Mode soon.

I see what Capcom is doing here. They sold tons of Chun outfits, then they nerfed her to the ground and Japan moved on into their new official waifu. They will nerf Ibuki into oblivion in S3 and buff Menat. She will become the new official waifu in Japan and will get tons of outfits for the whole year. She will be nerfed in S4, though, when Sakura will take her place as the official waifu.

Guile's tats should be mirrored, though, as otherwise his right arm has a retreating flag on it, a major faux pas.

Army Regulation 670-1, “Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia,” updated most recently September 5, 2003, addresses explicitly the proper and lawful placement of the U.S. flag patch on the Army uniform.

The regulation states that when authorized for application to the proper uniform the American flag patch is to be worn, right or left shoulder, so that “the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. The appropriate replica for the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the ‘reverse side flag’.”
