MoviePass (Unlimited Films in Theaters) Drops to $9.95 a Month

surprised to see the independent theatre right around the corner from my house supports this. i signed up and will see how much i use it over the first month... i think a ticket there is like 12 bucks, so even if i go once a month i saved a couple bucks

Really seems like any place that takes MasterCard would be able to work with MoviePass. That's why they say 91% of theaters are covered most likely. Pretty much everyone takes MasterCard.

Welp. Now when I log in, my card # doesn't show up anymore. And the theater list only shows two of the three eticketing theaters in my area. Weird.

I really hope the card arrives next week. If there was a delay in shipping out cards, I'd hope they'd say so...

Mine’s no longer there either. With all the glitches, who knows.

Their FAQ is still saying 5-7 days with pretty recent updates. I’m sure they just send the address and info to the company that makes the cards, I doubt they have much to do with the turn around time on them.

Yeah pretty sure it’s every theatre with a kiosk basically. Those seem to be guaranteed

I know a lot of the same questions keep getting asked but I didn't see this one anywhere. It's my understanding that you are in for a year and just get charged out the remainder of the year if you try to cancel early. That said, are you locked in for the $10 a month price for the full year or can they increase it on you?

So I think I am near an e-ticketing theater (studio movie grill)
Must investigate further

In Chicago? That's the only one I saw too! It's way too far from where I am and there's not a movie I'm willing to make that trip for that I can't see in a couple weeks when I get my card but enjoy! That's awesome how you can just order straight from the app! I wish it were like that for way more locations.

On the app when I select moviepass cards there’s one in there. All the numbers are blocked out besides the last 4 digits. I’m hoping that’s mine and it’ll be in the mail!
Before that changed, did it have a button that said “Order Card”? Because mine says that, and I wonder if one isn’t on the way...

That’s the old system, the new system they are making a big deal about “no contract, cancel when you want”.

Good to know, guess I'll get in on this now, sounds like the cards are going to be delayed but even a few months of this will save us a ton.

My wife's order went through a couple days ago but since there was no way of checking what theaters were supported at the time we didn't know we were in the 8% of people who don't have a theater near them participating.

And I'm in California lol

We aren't to get our cards for weeks are we?

I got in fairly early on the first day, before SD people crashed the site, but I am not optimistic.

Is it good to sign up now? The site was hammered for days and rather have waited for it to die down before I give them money. I don't know about the epass thing but, I just wanna wait for the card. I'm in NYC and all of the theaters support it.

The app still just gives me the Ordet Card button which constantly reports error when I enter address and order.

If it's just a credit card thing as reported I'm hoping the fulfillment facilities for those can probably crank out a lot of cards. Even with the signups the number of cards to make is probably dwarfed by what the big banks need to make for new/replacement cards every day.

We'll see.

It's weird lol since a person did movie pass cuz I mentioned and their card charged immediately..it's gnna suck if they receive card before me

I didn't get charged either but I got the confirm email. This was when the website was having serious issues the first day, though. But the app lists the 9.95 in the Plan Information area, and my credit card's last four digits are there in the Billing Card part. So I think I'm good.

Has anyone been able to get reserved seating to work? Rest of the app is working fine, and I can buy tickets no problem. But, if I try to get reserved seats, all I see is the screen and not the actual seats to select:

I just signed up and my card hasn't been charged nor have I received an email. Once I enter my card information and hit submit it just goes back to the first page as if nothing happened. Tried twice and got the same result each time. Hmmm...

As far as it’s known amc cant do anything about it. The moviepass card is a MasterCard debit so they pretty much have to accept it based on processing agreements.

That's good because the app literally will not let me cancel my subscription.

I just went into the app out of curiosities sake and reserved a ticket for Logan lucky. It worked perfectly to my surprise and shot me a confirmation in app.

EDIT: maybe important to note, the theater I reserved a ticket for was the Studio Movie Grill.

I'm curious how long it'll take for my card to get here. The only theater that accepts e ticketing is the studio movie grill which is a 30 minute drive for me.

When you guys say e-ticketing do you mean through the moviepass app? I prefer to go to arclight which have their own e-ticketing, but don't see them on the list of approved theaters. Same with an AMC next to me which has reserved seating, but other AMC theaters are showing up.

Yes. That's the only way to get a ticket without the debit card people are waiting on. Going through the app worked great. Not sure how I get my actual ticket but I assume it'll be a will call type deal where I just show the confirmation number at the ticket booth.

So once I get the debit card in the mail, I can use it at any theater?

Hmm. Might send help a message. It has been like the picture above all week. I can buy normal tickets no problem, but if I try to get a reserved seating, just that picture above.

I'm late to this, but let me get this straight.

I pay $9.99 a month and I can see one non-3D or IMAX movie of my choosing for one day?

Is it just one ticket? I don't expect I would be able to reserve two or more seats for friends and family.
