I'm pretty sure the only reason this didn't sell out in record time is because most people didn't know if it was legitimate.

I'm going to stay positive and hope for the best, it's going to be chaos when people find out about this if it turns out to be 100% legit.

I can't believe this. I got absolutely distracted watching those SNES unboxing/trailer videos that I forgot to check this thread. Found the link just in time to see it go from available to out of stock only a minute later, didn't have time to put an order.

There better be more rounds or I'm gonna be so pissed.

Ffs there were people on those videos comments saying they just put an order on Amazon/BB.

I'd still like to give away a SNES Classic during the first season of my upcoming podcast. By then these should be pretty rare. But someone warned me about subscription bots and giveaways. I'll have to figure out a way to have it reach a real listener.

Have them email their request and embed a weird password in the podcast.

Not sure why you would want to do that. The games on the SNES Classic can't be played full screen, so if you put them on a CRT, the actual game screen is going to look tiny.
Hmm, I guess I'll have to rethink my plan.

Edit: Not even with the 4:3 mode thingy?

Man, Nintendo is the worst. Luckily this is the only product I want from them. I'd hate to have to go through this all the time due to their incompetence.

Amazon email alerts are literally worse than useless. If you used an email alert as a method of preordering you now have a WORSE chance than random bastards.

The new trailer shows new functionality like a rewind mode so improved video controls may not be out of the question. That was a loud complaint about the nes one.

So I'm guessing the preorder embargo from Nintendo was until 12am PDT on the 22nd, and BB and Amazon just happened to open up in the middle of the night while Walmart and Target are waiting until the morning sometime.

Technically, Best Buy would have broken that embargo since they went up at 10PM PDT on the 21st.

There's going to be a lot of people waking up pissed off.

For those people, keep an eye on Amazon still. If they decide to cancel multiple orders like the UK did then there should be some pop back up. There's a poster that got around 50 ordered, so if they get cancelled you can do the math.

Get text alerts from a reliable source like Twitter or Discord. Don't trust the retailer to email you.

There is still Walmart and Target left as well as others like Play Asia (I Think).

I get Wario's tweets pushed to my phone. The one that woke me up was his tweet about the Amazon link being dead. :(

And a different listing? Really? Ffs

So pleased I got in on whatever the Amazon thing is. It seems like it was legit. I saw it RIGHT after it popped up because I was keeping a close eye on the Amazon search results after seeing that Best Buy had gone live a few hours back. Nice to beat Wario (and GAF) to the punch and get in there real early.

So glad I'll get a chance to enjoy this piece of gaming history.

Wait, what the hell, what's this about a different Amazon listing?! Is the one from about an hour ago not the right one & will get cancelled??

Ah right. I'm just gobsmacked why they would roll this out for the US while half the country is asleep. Gonna be a lot of bitter and confused east coast gsmers waking up soon.

I figured they were using the different listing so they didn't have to deal with bots and scripts.

...That's a thing, right?

I got one, but I'm bummed about everyone who didn't. I don't think this is gonna be like the NES Classic (which I didn't get, fucking Nintendo), so I'm sure there's gonna be more this time around.

I had Wario up on one window and my phone this entire time. >_>

Was driving home from the eclipse viewing when all of this went down. Traffic was still pretty bad, even this late, so it took way longer than normal. Hopefully more will go up on Amazon/Best Buy soon.

same one, youre fine.
Phew, thank you. I ordered a 2nd one just in case for my best friend in case he can't get it from GS to pay it off with their branded credit card. If he gets it from GS, then I guess the spare order can go to my canadian friend.

This whole "significantly more" supply than the NES Classic sure isn't going to go over well when it's discovered that they probably meant only like 100K more at most.

I hope you all get your shit canceled

I hope we don't.

On a more positive note Technosteve, I hope that you are able to get one from Walmart over the next 12 hours, or from Target at some point today.

Then you might not be bitter about our fortune to be able to have gotten one because we stayed up late once BB orders went up hoping that one of the other retailers would follow suit.

Stay optimistic and keep F5'ing Walmart and Target and Amazon and Best Buy today. You've got your best shot today.

I hope you're wrong.

I'm still pissed off about the NES Classic. People who actually want to play and USE these should have been able to get one, and knowing that there were so many of them that went to scalpers still burns me to my core.

If I see anything I'll post here, but you guys are way faster than me. :(

SNES Classic is not designed to be played on a CRT. Even with the 4:3 mode, you would still get a border and that border would show up on the CRT, thus, making the actual game screen smaller to look at in a CRT.

Previews already showed the video modes. There's just no way of playing these games full screen on a widescreen TV because the games would look terribly distorted. I mean, they could have added it, but the end result is so awful that it isn't worth it.

I hope Nintendo cancels the SNES mini all together
