Cool! I didn't even think about all the poster/photo possibilities if they end up doing an XCOM 2 run after this. And they could add all their characters to the character pool and share them!

Well, I mean Dan took what could have been a interesting long running series with lots of ups and downs and ran it into the ground for a few cheap jokes. I guess we have to hope for a hail mary from Abby and Alex, but they're probably still too inexperienced with the game to salvage this and god only knows what will happen when Dan returns.

Geez people are really upset at Dan huh. This is almost Metro QL levels of anger. I wonder if he'll see this as a lesson like he did for Metro or dismiss the comments. He probably expected some clapback, but not at this scale.

There are some valid criticisms in there (e.g. not as fun to watch him intentionally do bad, rather than have the mistakes happen organically like with Abby and Alex) but a lot of the comments *are* overblown. I wish people would take easy.. threatening to unsubscribe from premium just because of this one video is a bit much.

Not really tbh. People can express their dissatisfaction however they like and from a consumer pov hitting the wallet and making the numbers go down is about the ONLY real form of power a consumer has. Even online criticism mostly only matters insofar as it pertains to how it affects the numbers that have value.

Longer than a few episodes at least. And regardless I do think there was merit to the original premise, that watching them struggle, even if they fail, would have been interesting and entertaining, and that it's perfectly fine to be disappointed that Dan decided to torpedo the whole thing on his own.

To be fair i don't think dan is actually trying to torpedo the feature. I genuinely think that he thought he could do his "keep me safe" schtick without incurring too heavy of a penalty early on.

He's just very bad at the game.

You can see with how he moved the vip directly under the thin man lmao. He's too rash and also doesn't know how the cover system works.

They can still salvage it from here. I also don't think Dan deliberately tanked the feature, he just played too recklessly.
I don't think the mission would have gone much better with Abby or Alex in control either.

I don't think Dan lost soldiers intentionally. And i honestly doubt any of the others would have made it out without casualties. Arguably there could have been even more.

None of them understand how cover, height and flanking works, and in this mission that gets punished heavily. Both, Abby and Alex, were even more reckless than Dan with putting soldiers in absolutely terrible positions.


There was no way they got out May not completely crippled (remember, there's this scripted mission, the terror mission, and if they capture the next alien: mutons). It's their first time playing ironman, they need some time to learn the game.

them not understanding how cover works is like not understanding how to fire a gun in an fps. Okay maybe a bit less fundamental than that but still pretty damn fundamental.

Still haven't watched the Xcom video but since I never played the game not sure I'll get what he is doing wrong.

Just got to the prison talk on Blue Bombin' and it is top notch Dan Ryckert. Blue Bombin' with Austin and Bakalar is too perfect.

Also, still miss Austin.
